"THE FAITH TO FORGIVE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-13

THE FAITH TO FORGIVE

I BELIEVE THE BASIS FOR FORGIVENESS IS THE LOVE AND GRACE THAT GOD HAS FOR US.  1ST JOHN 4:19 SAYS "We love him, because he first loved us."  ALSO, EPHESIANS 2:8 SAYS "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

IT IS ONLY BECAUSE GOD FIRST LOVED AND FORGAVE US THAT WE CAN LOVE AND FORGIVE OTHERS.  HOW CAN WE MINISTER FORGIVENESS TO OTHERS IF WE ARE NOT WALKING IN THE FORGIVENESS OF GOD?  HE FORGAVE US BEFORE WE REPENTED OR EVEN ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS.  WE ARE TO FORGIVE OTHERS THEIR TRESPASSES JUST LIKE GOD FORGAVE US OUR TRESPASSES.  WE SHOULD FORGIVE WHETHER OR NOT THE OTHER PERSON REPENTS OR WANTS OUR FORGIVENESS.  HOWEVER, I DON'T BELIEVE A RELATIONSHIP CAN BE COMPLETELY RESTORED UNTIL THERE IS REPENTANCE ON THEIR PART.  I BELIEVE IF THERE IS REPENTANCE THERE, IT SHOULD NEVER BE BROUGHT UP AND TALKED ABOUT AGAIN.

FOR EXAMPLE, WE SHOULD FORGIVE OUR MATE FOR ANYTHING, EVEN ADULTERY.  HOWEVER, IF THERE IS NO TRUE REPENTANCE ON THEIR PART, IT WOULD BE FOOLISH TO TRUST THEM IN A SEXUALLY TEMPTING SITUATION.   ANOTHER EXAMPLE WOULD BE THAT WE SHOULD FORGIVE A BUSINESS PARTNER FOR STEALING FROM US WHETHER OR NOT HE REPENTS, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE OUGHT TO PUT OURSELVES IN A POSITION TO LET HIM DO IT AGAIN.  COMPLETE RESTORATION IS DEPENDENT ON REPENTANCE.  WE ALL SHOULD WALK IN FORGIVENESS.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"HYPOCRISY IS......." BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-13

Hypocrisy Is.....

Luke 12:1 'In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.'

LUKE 12:1-3

This is the biblical definition of a hypocrite, 'someone whose words and heart (actions) don't agree.' A hypocrite may act the part of a Christian or talk like Christ, but he or she won't do both. Hypocrisy is defined by the dictionary as, 'The feigning of beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; insincerity' (American Heritage Dictionary). In the Greek, the word is 'hupokrisis' and means 'the playing of a part on the stage.'

Hypocrisy is often said to be doing something even though you don't want to or feel like doing it. It is true that God demands that our motive and reason for doing things be right, but this does not mean that we always want to, or delight in, doing something. To do what God wants you to do, or to do unto others what you would want them to do unto you, is not hypocrisy (Mt. 7:12)- even if you don't feel like doing it. It is hypocrisy only when your motive for doing it is wrong and you're not genuinely seeking the welfare and benefit of others. Remember, Jesus didn't feel like going to the cross, but He went anyway to seek the welfare and benefit of the world.

Agape love is described as the, 'love (that) can be known only from the actions it prompts.' This is not the love of complacency or affection, that is, it was not drawn out by any excellency in its objects (Rom. 5:8).

Christian love (agape), whether exercised toward the brethren, or toward others generally, is not an impulse from the feelings. It does not always run with the natural inclinations. It (Agape) seeks the welfare of all (Rom. 15:2) and works no ill to any (Rom. 13:8-10). '(Agape) seeks opportunity to do good to all men. . .' Let God's love flow through you today.

"YOU DO HAVE GODLY POWERS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-12

YOU DO HAVE GODLY POWERS

HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED THE POWER THAT WE HAVE?  IF WE ALL COULD JUST REALIZE THIS AND REALLY GET IT INTO OUR MINDS, THERE IS NOTHING WE COULD NOT DO.  I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT JUST A FEW THINGS THAT JESUS DID AND HE SAID IN JOHN 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."  DID YOU SEE THAT.....GREATER WORKS SHALL WE DO.

HE FED FIVE THOUSAND, PLUS WOMEN AND CHILDREN, AT ONE TIME, AND FOUR THOUSAND, PLUS WOMEN AND CHILDREN, AT ANOTHER TIME, WITH JUST A FEW FISHES AND LOAVES OF BREAD?  HE  SAID WE WOULD DO GREATER THAN THIS.  HOW ABOUT WALKING ON WATER OR HEALING THE SICK OR RAISING SOMEONE FROM THE DEAD.  AGAIN, HE SAID WE WOULD DO GREATER THAN THIS.  DO WE BELIEVE THIS?  YOU SEE, THAT IS OUR PROBLEM.  IT TAKES GREAT FAITH TO BELIEVE ALL THIS AND WE JUST DON'T HAVE THAT GREAT FAITH.  OH, WE DO HAVE FAITH BUT DON'T USE IT LIKE JESUS TELLS US TO DO.  THAT IS THE KIND OF FAITH THAT IT TAKES.

GET A PICTURE OF ALL THESE THINGS IN YOUR MIND AND READ ABOUT THEM.  THESE ARE THINGS THAT CAN BUILD YOUR FAITH.  ALL THAT TOOK POWER AND THE SAME POWER IS IN US.  WHEN JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS, GOD SENT HOLY SPIRIT, THE COMFORTER, TO BE WITH US.  THAT IS THE SAME SPIRIT THAT RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD.  YOU THINK THAT IS NOT POWER?

I AM GOING TO PICK ONE THING THAT WE HAVE TROUBLE WITH AND THAT IS HEALING.  WE KNOW JESUS CAN HEAL, IN FACT, HE SAYS HE HAS ALREADY DONE IT AND FOR US TO DO IT.  OUR PROBLEM IS THAT IF WE PRAY FOR SOMEONE TO BE HEALED AND NOTHING HAPPENS, WE GET DISCOURAGED AND WE SHOULDN'T AS LONG AS WE HAVE DONE WHAT HE SAID.  AFTER THAT, IT IS UP TO JESUS AND THE PERSON YOU PRAYED FOR.  YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE PERSON HAS TO WANT TO BE HEALED AND RECEIVE IT OR IT WON'T HAPPEN.  JESUS WILL NOT GO AGAINST SOMEONE'S WILL TO HEAL THEM.  HE GAVE US A FREE WILL AND HE RESPECTS THAT.  SOME PEOPLE LOVE THE ATTENTION THEY GET WHEN THEY ARE SICK AND JUST DON'T WANT TO GIVE THAT UP.   ALL WE CAN DO FOR THEM IS TO PRAY THAT THEIR EYES WILL BE OPENED TO THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD.

SO DON'T GIVE UP ON PEOPLE TO GET HEALED, EVEN IF IT DOESN'T WORK SOMETIMES BECAUSE IT REALLY DOES WORK.  ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS BE OBEDIENT.  JESUS SAYS TO HEAL THE SICK AND THE REST IS UP TO HIM. WON'T YOU PRAY FOR SOMEONE TODAY TO BE HEALED?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"JESUS, THE WISDOM OF GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-12

Jesus, The Wisdom Of God

Luke 11:49 'Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute.'

LUKE 11:46-49

This phrase 'Therefore also said the wisdom of God,' is a part of Luke's narrative and not the words of Jesus. Luke is saying that Jesus is the wisdom of God, a truth well-established in scripture.

There is no way to access the wisdom of God except through Jesus. Until a person receives Christ, he is missing the only source of true wisdom. Men and women are incapable of receiving the wisdom of God, but those who submit themselves to God have access to the wisdom of God on their own, through the Holy Spirit. We must be dependent upon the Holy Spirit to receive the wisdom of God in our lives.

A Christian who has not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit can have some revelation knowledge, but it will be limited. One of the greatest evidences that an individual has received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the tremendous amount of God's wisdom that becomes available to him.

The truths of the Gospel, and the power of God that these truths release, can only be imparted through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Human wisdom, regardless of how eloquent it is, cannot convey the life of God. Much of the preaching of the Gospel today is done in man's wisdom. It's impressive to the carnal mind, but it leaves the spirit starving for the touch of God. The greatest need among ministers today is not to have more of the world's education, but to receive the revelation knowledge of the Holy Spirit. Only words spoken by the Spirit of God can reach the spirit of man. Spiritual thoughts have to be spoken with spiritual words (1 Cor. 2:13).

"STAYING IN GOD'S WORD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-11

STAYING IN GOD'S WORD

THERE IS SO MUCH TALK ON KEEPING OUR BODIES IN SHAPE BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR SPIRITS?   DO YOU EXERCISE IT?   WE KNOW OUR BODIES HAVE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF IN ORDER FOR THEM TO WORK PROPERLY.  WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE WE EAT GOOD, DRINK PLENTY OF WATER, AND PROTECT OURSELVES FROM  ANYTHING THAT WILL HARM US.  AS FOR OUR SPIRIT, HOW DO WE TREAT IT?  IT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF AS WELL AS OUR BODIES.  IT NEEDS TO BE TRAINED IN THE THINGS OF GOD. THEY NEED TO BE FED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD'S WORD AND WATERED BY HIS "LIVING WATER".

JUST AS OUR BODIES WILL BECOME UNPRODUCTIVE, OUR SPIRITS WILL ALSO BECOME UNPRODUCTIVE.  IF WE TRY TO RELY ON THE THINGS WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT ALL OUR LIVES AND THEY DO NOT LINE UP WITH GOD'S WORD, THEY ARE JUST MYTHS AND OLD WIVE'S TALES.  IT EVEN TALKS ABOUT THIS IN 1ST TIMOTHY 4:7-8 WHERE IT SAYS "Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.:  WE MUST KEEP OUR SPIRITS FULL OF GOD'S WORD SO WE WILL KNOW HOW TO MINISTER TO OTHERS.

SO, KEEP YOURSELF SO FULL OF HIS WORD THAT IT WILL BE FLOWING OUT OF YOU SO OTHER PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE IT.  JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 11:28-29 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."   HE SAYS "LEARN OF ME" AND HOW WILL WE DO THAT IF WE DO NOT READ OUR BIBLES.   HE WANTS TO TEACH US AND FELLOWSHIP WITH US.  IT IS UP TO US.  HE HAS PUT IT ALL THERE FOR US, WHAT WILL YOU DO?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"HOLINESS IS A FRUIT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-11

Holiness Is A Fruit

Luke 11:42 'But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done and not to leave the other undone.'

LUKE 11:42-44

When Jesus said, 'and not to leave the other undone,' it is clear that He is not arguing against doing what is right. God's Word stresses holiness in our actions. The Pharisees' error that caused Jesus' rebuke was that they believed their actions could produce a right relationship with God. But a proper relationship with God can only come by humbling ourselves and putting faith in a Savior, who is Jesus. God cleanses our hearts by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8) and then we have our fruit unto holiness (Rom. 6:22). Holiness is a fruit, not a root, of salvation.

In a similar instance found in Matthew 23:26, Jesus told the Pharisees, 'Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.' True Christianity comes from the inside out. A good heart will change a man's actions, but a man's actions cannot change his heart.

One of religion's favorite doctrines is that if you will just act right, you will be right. Nothing could be further from the truth. You must be born again. And if you are born again, then holiness is a by-product and not the way to a relationship with God.

This is the heart of the Gospel. Every major religion of the world has a moral standard it enforces, but only Christianity offers salvation through a Savior. Presenting holiness in any way other than as a result of salvation is denying Jesus as our Savior and places the burden of salvation on us. Improper emphasis on achieving holiness or salvation through one's own actions can damn that person. We must trust Jesus completely.

"LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

ARE YOU STRESSED ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA?  THE GOOD THING IS WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.  IF WE CHRISTIANS WOULD BAN TOGETHER AND PRAY AND DID WHAT WE NEED TO DO AS IS COMMANDED IN THE BIBLE, GOD WILL HEAL OUR LAND.

LET'S TALK ABOUT REAL STRESS.  JESUS' DISCIPLES DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO BECAUSE IT SEEMED THAT ALL WAS LOST.  THEY HAD WATCHED JESUS BEING ARRESTED, BEATEN AND CRUCIFIED.  ALL OF THEIR HOPES AND DREAMS WERE ROOTED IN HIM AND THEN HE WAS DEAD AND SEEMINGLY DEFEATED.  NOW DO YOU THINK THEY WERE STRESSED?  THE CONFUSION, HURT AND PAIN FROM THAT ALONE WAS PROBABLY UNBEARABLE BUT THEN CAME THE THOUGHTS.  "WE HAVE MADE SUCH SACRIFICES, LEAVING FAMILY AND BUSINESSES AND RISKING IT ALL ON THE BELIEF THAT JESUS WAS THE MESSIAH."  "MIGHT IT ALL HAVE BEEN IN VAIN?"  " HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE THEY COME AND GET US?"  YES, I THINK THEY WERE VERY STRESSED.  DO YOU THINK THIS COMPARES TO OUR STRESS?.

EVIDENTLY THEY DIDN'T EITHER HEAR OR BELIEVE JESUS WHEN HE TOLD THEM WHAT WAS GONG TO HAPPEN.  OTHERWISE, WHY WERE THEY NOT AT THE TOMB ON THAT THIRD DAY?  LOOK WHAT IS SAYS IN MATTHEW 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

HE WAS ALWAYS THINKING ABOUT THEM THOUGH AND LOVING THEM. LOOK WHAT HE TOLD THEM THE NIGHT BEFORE HIS CRUCIFIXION.  (JOHN 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.)  HE KNEW WHAT THEY WOULD THINK AND ACT AND HE WAS TRYING TO COMFORT THEM.

WHEN CRISIS COMES, AND IT WILL, DO WHAT JESUS SAYS TO DO.  DON'T DWELL ON THE BAD BUT LOOK TOWARD JESUS.  HE IS OUR ANSWER.  HE HAS NOT BROUGHT YOU THIS FAR TO DROP US NOW.  HE CAN TURN ANYTHING BAD INTO SOMETHING GOOD.  IT IS BETTER IF WE TALK TO HIM FIRST ABOUT WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO AND ASK HIM ABOUT IT.  HOWEVER, EVEN IF SOMETIMES WE DON'T, HE LOVES US AND WILL STILL TURN THINGS AROUND FOR US IF WE JUST LET HIM.  TRUST HIM...HE LOVES US MORE THAN WE CAN EVER IMAGINE AND HE CAN TAKE ALL OUR STRESS AWAY.

I WILL SAY ONE MORE THING ABOUT THIS.  EVEN THOUGH JESUS LOVES US AND WANTS THE BEST THINGS FOR US, I BELIEVE HE WANTS US TO STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT AND BOLDLY PREACH AGAINST THOSE SET ON GOING AGAINST HIM.  WE KNOW WHAT HE SAYS IN HIS WORD.  THE DEMOCRATS ARE SO SET ON GOING AGAINST HIS WILL, ESPECIALLY WITH THE ABORTION CLINICS KILLING ALL THOSE BABIES.  WE CHRISTIANS SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO NOT GET IN OFFICE AND CONTINUE WHAT THEY ARE SO SET ON DOING.  PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE FOR  PRESIDENT TRUMP AND CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HIM.  I SINCERELY BELIEVE IN MY HEART THAT HE WAS SENT BY GOD FOR THIS TIME IN OUR HISTORY TO BRING AMERICA BACK TO BEING A NATION UNDER GOD.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"GROW IN GRACE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-07-10

Grow In Grace

Luke 11:38 - 'And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.'

LUKE 11:37-41

A sure sign of the error of legalism is misplaced priorities, as we see here with these Pharisees. It is not recorded in Scripture that the Pharisees marveled at the wonderful works of Jesus. They were too busy looking for something to criticize (Mark 3:2). But they marveled at Jesus not washing His hands. This is a classic example of straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel (Mt. 23:24).

Those who seek to earn righteousness through keeping the Law are consumed with 'doing,' while those who receive righteousness by faith are simply confessing what has already been done. This is a simple and yet profound difference. If we are still 'doing' acts of holiness to get God to move in our lives, then we are still operating under a 'Law' mentality that is not faith (Gal. 3:12). When we simply believe and confess what has already been provided through Christ, that's grace.

A person who is living under the Law and a person who lives under grace should have very similar actions of holiness, but their motivations are completely opposite. The legalist has their attention on what they must do, while the person living by faith has his attention on what Christ has already done for him. For instance, the Scriptures teach us to confess with our mouths and believe with our hearts, and we will receive from God. The legalist thinks, That means I can get God to heal me by confessing, 'By his stripes I am healed.' However, the person who understands God's grace will not confess the Word to get healed. They will confess, 'By His stripes I am healed' because they really believe it has already been done.

Analyzing our 'mind set' is the simplest way of discerning whether we are operating in true Bible faith or a legalistic counterfeit. If the motive for our actions is to be accepted with God, that's legalism. If we live wholly out of faith and gratefulness for what God has already done, that's grace. Grow in grace!
