"HOW POWERFUL IS PRAYER?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY JESUS' DISCIPLES ASKED HIM TO TEACH THEM TO PRAY INSTEAD OF HOW TO DO MIRACLE OR PREACH. LOOK WHAT IS SAYS IN LUKE 11:1 "And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples'."?
HE WAS THE GREATEST MIRACLE WORKER AND PREACHER WHO EVER LIVED BUT I BELIEVE THE DISCIPLES KNEW JESUS' PRAYER LIFE WAS EVEN GREATER THAN ANYTHING ELSE AND IT GAVE HIM THE POWER TO DO WHAT HE DID.
JESUS SAID MANY TIMES THAT IT WAS HIS FATHER WHO WAS DOING THE MIRACLES THROUGH HIM. MOST OF US KNOW THE "LORD'S PRAYER" BUT THIS WAS JESUS' WAY OF TEACHING THEM. JESUS' REAL PRAYER IS IN JOHN 17 AND HE STARTS OUT BY PRAYING FOR HIS DISCIPLES BUT IN VERSE 20 HE STARTS PRAYING FOR US. JUST READ IT BELOW.
JOHN 17:20-26 "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; (WE DO BELIEVE ON HIM THROUGH THE WORDS THEY HAVE WRITTEN) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them."
HOW POWERFUL WAS THAT, JESUS WAS PRAYING FOR US. PLEASE READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER AS YOU WILL BE BLESSED.
SPEND SOME TIME WITH THE LORD TODAY. YOU WILL BE SO BLESSED AND LET'S PRAY FOR EACH OTHER EVERY DAY.
