JESUS, THE MESSIAH, THE SON OF GOD
I OFTEN WONDERED WHY THE JEWISH PEOPLE, WITH ALL OF THE PROPHECIES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, COULDN'T SEE THAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT JESUS. THERE ARE AROUND 50 SCRIPTURES THAT TALK ABOUT THE MESSIAH BUT I HAVE LISTED ONLY 8 BELOW AND THESE PROPHECIES WERE MADE HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE JESUS WAS EVEN BORN. PSALMS GOES BACK ABOUT A THOUSAND YEARS AND ISAIAH GOES BACK SOME 700 YEARS. I LIST THEM BELOW FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT.
MESSIAH WOULD BE BORN OF A VIRGIN
PROPHECY....ISAIAH 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
FULFILLMENT....MATTHEW 1:22-23 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

PREPARING THE WAY FOR THE MESSIAH
PROPHECY....ISAIAH 40:3-5 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
FULFILLMENT....LUKE 3:3-6 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. MESSIAH WOULD BE DECLARED THE SON OF GOD
PROPHECY....PSALMS 2:7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

MESSIAH WOULD BE BETRAYED
PROPHECY....ZECHARIAH 11:12-13 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
FULFILLMENT....LUKE 22:47-48 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

MESSIAH'S HANDS AND FEET WOULD BE PIERCED
PROPHECY....PSALMS 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
FULFILLMENT....JOHN 20:25-27 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

FULFILLMENT....MATTHEW 28:6-7 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
