Betty Overstreet is an Artist/Songwriter. She has a number of original songs as well as several she has co-written with others: John Covert,Crystal Image; George LaFlame; Sharron Hammer. She also records Cover Songs that touch her heart. Betty has won awards for some of her songs; Akademia Music Awards 2016: Best Song Country/Americana- "You came right back and Best Song Christian/Folk- "I dreamed I walked along with Jesus" (co-write with Sharron Hammer Northwest Alabama Publishing Co. Song Writers Contest 2019: 1st Place Traditional Gospel- God will send an Angel" 1st Place Christian Song-"Let me follow" 2nd Place Country gospel- "Dreams don't always happen" Betty and her husband Gary perform together at Church Concerts, Senior Residential Homes and private parties. Their various genre are: Country Western, Classic Rock n Roll and Gospel.

Christmas is the time for Family

I remember family Christmas, when I was a child
Santa looked like daddy and had his same sweet smile
Snuggling warm together beneath the Christmas tree
Santa took gifts from his bag and we would shout with glee
Christmas is a special time for family and friends
The smell of spice and spruce trees laughter with no end
Hanging up our stockings lighting up the tree
We watch our children celebrate this special Christmas eve
But that’s not all the memories of Christmas that I love
Mama shared the story of the Christ Child from above
A tiny precious baby born in Bethlehem
a story of a family and of their love for him
Christmas is a special time with family and friends
The smell of spice and spruce trees and laughter with no end
Hanging up our stockings lighting up the tree
We watch our children celebrate this special Christmas eve
Long intermission
At the end of her story Mama would sing
surrounded by angels with their golden wings
her voice was a blessing from Heaven above
she sang silent night with such grace and love
