John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Seems like the world has gotten away from the truth today and as a result the world has lost it's way. When we compromise the truth, there are consequences to be paid. Case in point, the chaos going on, not only in this country but the world. There are many things that I could rant and rave about with what is going on in this world right now, but rather I choose to follow the example of Jesus. Jesus was always about His Father's business, preaching the gospel in season and out of season, fellowshipping with the Father. His discussions were always about the Kingdom of His Father. I believe, without a doubt, if we follow the example of Jesus, in the end - we'll end up in the kingdom. Yes, there is unrest everywhere. Just as in the days of Jesus. But, Jesus wasn't distracted by this problem or that problem, he focused and aimed for the prize. Shouldn't that be our goal too?
Phillipians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Today's stock market crash is believed (according to the guru analysts on Wall Street and around the world) is because of the astronomical debt Europe has accrued leading to a weak European economy and weakness of the banks in Europe. This in turn affected our markets and helped add fuel to the fire of our Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) tanked over 500 points. When men continue to put their faith in their idols, and not in God, woes and troubles will follow.

PSALM 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life, in thy light shall we see light.
This is one of my favorite verses of scripture that Reverend John MulQueen (a brother biker) has shared on indiegospel.org I read this morning. This reminds me of a book by a brother who was a cook in a monastery in Paris, France. By daily seeking the light of the Lord, Brother Lawrence experienced being in the light of the Lord, in His presence, and saw more light. The book I am referring to is "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence. Here is a taste and an insight into a man who walked in His light and saw light.
(Begin Quote) "In 1640 he entered a Carmelite monastery in Paris as a lay brother. In a short time he received the brown habit and took the religious name Lawrence of the Resurrection." "For his first ten years as a Carmelite, he suffered a dark depression, exacerbated by feelings of spiritual inadequacy, anxieties, fears and unhappiness in his work. After reaching his conclusion that he would never find the peace he sought, suddenly, "I found myself changed all at once; and my soul, till that time was in trouble, felt a profound inward peace, as if she were in her center and place of rest." This proved the turning point for Brother Lawrence, who would return again and again to this center , to the presence of God. No longer frustrated by his work, he found himself in the presence of God, while peeling potatoes as well as when he was kneeling at prayer. (End of quote)

I just read an interesting statement from Olivia's page and she was speaking of the dilemma we artists have when it comes to self promotion. I believe the Lord gave me a good answer in response. When we in our hearts put self first Jesus and His kingdom loses out. But when we put the Lord first, no matter what it may be, the Lord gets the VICTORY. We have all had the devil condemn us for our book ministry, our music ministry, our companion ministry, our doing the dishes ministry or our babysitting ministry, whatever the Lord has called you to do, because we are busy doing the Lord's work. When we are idle we won't hear a lot of complaining and condemnation from the evil one. When we do we know we are putting another nail in the coffin of the devil and furthering the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ here on earth! Amen!
