A lot of us in our early years with Christ find that we are self centered instead of being God centered. We do not allow certain parts of Christ into our relationship because it does not fit into our everyday life. We have to learn to re-align our thoughts and meditate on what it is that is controlling our everyday living and decide what is more important, God, or whatever it is that is that is slowing our journey with him.
It could be that our God is “Money” because we want the latest technology, holiday’s, latest trends in fashion etc. We have this built-in fear that keeps telling us that we must make as much money as possible in the shortest time possible so that we can then relax and enjoy it’s rewards.
Make money your god and it will plague you like the devil. This was once said by the novelist “Henry Fielding” but you only have to look at the scriptures where you will find dozens of mentions about money.
1 Timothy 6:7-10 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many grieves.
Money used to be my God, but thankfully through Christ, I have now realised that it was not making me happy as I thought it would, but obsessive and blinkered. I now think very carefully about what I need in my life and say to myself, "What would Jesus do?"

The best way to think, is the way God thinks.

I have met people in my life that have stated that they are Christians and yet the lifestyles that they lead leave a lot to be desired. They are always trying to outdo neighbours with bigger and flashier cars, more expensive holidays abroad, better jobs, bigger houses, buying the latest gadgets, bigger TV's etc. etc. Some even brag about knowing people in high places in society and that they can get things done that others cannot. I know some of them actually read the bible, some will memorize some of the scriptures, give a £ ($) or two to street beggars, and I know of one who will even give handouts to some of the needy at Christmas. Because they go to church now and then when it suits them, and that they give donations to their church, they think that they are saved and have the right to call themselves Christians. Well guys, I've got news for you. It doesn't quite work that way.
God is not for sale:
You cannot buy him by giving money to your church You cannot buy him by reading the bible every day You cannot buy him by memorizing and quoting the psalms and proverbs You cannot buy him by feeding the poor and the needy You cannot buy him by praying for several hours every day because God is not for sale
You have to have the Right Mental Attitude to being a Christian today You have to have Self Discipline to being a Christian today You have to have Self Control to being a Christian today You have to feel the Holy Spirit in you and in the things you do You have to pray to God every day (sometimes several) and thank him for your life, and the things in your life You have to ask him for forgiveness for your past and present sins You have to pray for your neighbours and friends and those in need You have to ask all of this in Jesus name
You have to be sincere and thoughtful in your prayers You have to be open and helpful to others around you regardless of their race and circumstances You have to do many things to receive God’s love and mercy because he cannot be bought. The sincere desire to obey God’s law begins by remembering who he is and what he desires for you He is free to everyone in this world because he sent his son Jesus to die for our sins He died so that you could have a deep, intimate, personal relationship with God through him.
I love God but I’m still not where I should be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be.

Hi all, I have just watched the 30 minute video about Joseph Kony and how he kidnaps children and turns them against their parents and other children. It's horrendous to see that this has been going on for some twenty years now and hundreds have been mutilated and killed, and our goverenments have done nothing about it. I think when you watch the video, you will be very mindful about your children and know just how lucky we are not to live near this madman. You can view it here at this link.

Some of us walk around with a bag full of excuses when it comes to spending time with God. We make excuses for just about everything and anything which we tend to blame on distractions.
Kids to get to school, shopping to do, clean up the house, wash the car, fill it up with petrol, got to go and play golf, there’s a program on TV I want to see? My partner is not a believer, (love that one) Haven’t got enough time, Etc. Etc. Etc. Don’t let your mind get in the way! Don’t let Satan change your thoughts! Don’t make excuses! Make Time.
(Let’s look at time)
TIME: We all have the same 24 hours in a day, it’s just that some of us make the best use of it while others waste it procrastinating about what to do and when to do it. Am just as bad, although I have now learned to plan my work, and work my plan. Like many, I made too many excuses about what might happen if I didn’t do this or that, so in the end, nothing got done. We have all been there. We have to make time even if it means getting up earlier in the morning to fit it all in. Don’t fit God around your schedule; fit your schedule around God.
We have to say to ourselves, Am I a believer or not? If we are, then why make excuses when it comes to making time for God. I believe that it is Satan who is trying to alter our minds and stop us from making that precious time with God. Yes, I know that certain jobs/tasks need to be done but it can be carried out in an orderly fashion. Discipline and self control are what is required and really makes a difference to your lifestyle if you follow it through. I find that as soon as I am up and out of bed in the morning, I spend some time with God by praying and reading his word. Through the day I thank him for both Diane’s and my life, our health and well being, watch some Joyce Meyer teachings, read some GOOD meaningful books, give thanks to him for our food, friends, and before we go to bed, read some devotional material and then pray before we go to sleep. We have kept this running now for several months and find it is very easy to keep and our lifestyle has changed for the better. We have also learned to pass things onto God to deal with as we had tried to do things our self. I had spent a lot of valuable time trying to contact two pension companies about a transfer from one to the other with no joy. After six months of them “passing the buck” I passed it on to God and ask him to deal with it. I then left it with him and carried on doing other things. Within six days, I received a letter of apology from both companies concerned and it is now “sorted” The power of prayer is awesome.
We have done this several times and it is amazing the results that we have achieved. It just shows that talking and praying to God and telling him of your situations and then passing it on to him, he will sort it out sooner or later. (Remember that Time Takes Time) Some things will take longer, but it’s amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it and ask God for his help and favour. Invite God into every area of your life, not just on a Sunday morning, but everyday day from the moment you awake, to when you go to bed last thing at night.
(Let’s look at Discipline & Self Control)
Discipline and self control requires the Right Mental Attitude. Being positive is the answer and will help you with your everyday life. Now I know that for some people that can be very difficult for a variety of reasons, but if you start thinking in a positive manner, and not think negative thoughts, then you will start to enjoy your life and the people around you more. And what’s more, the people around you will also notice a difference in you. If you continue to think negative thoughts, then whatever it is that you are worrying about will increase until you become a worry to both yourselves and to those around you. Discipline your mind to think and do what is right. Use your self control when out shopping, watching TV, and scripture reading every day and make your prayers prayful. Thank God for your life and for the good things that has happened in it. Ask God to forgive your sins, and then pray for your partner, friends, someone whom you know needs God’s protective arm around them, etc. and when you have finished, ask this in Jesus name.

AND THEN IT’S WINTER - @william-adams-rockabillie

You know. . . time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.
But, here it is…my friends are retired and getting grey…they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me…but, I see the great change…Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant…but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we’d be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore… it’s mandatory! Cause if I don’t on my own free will… I just fall asleep where I sit!
And so…now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!! But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I’m not sure how long it will last…this I know, that when it’s over on this earth…its over. A new adventure will begin!
Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn’t done…things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I’m happy to have done. It’s all in a lifetime.
So, if you’re not in your winter yet…let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. Whatever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don’t put things off too long!! Life goes by quickly, so, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life…so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember…and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!!
“Life” is a gift to all of us. The way we live our lives is our gift to those who come after. Let’s make it a fantastic one.

God does not get rushed. He is never pressured. He can however be talked into good things - it's called prayer. We have to be a believer and have faith to receive whatever we ask for in prayer. The power of prayer is an awesome tool.
Saying things like "There's no hope," tells God He doesn't have the power to fix your situation. Nothing is beyond His repair.
Ipersonally believe that some of us don’t hear voices, but we get instincts and signs that guide us to the answer of some of our prayers.
Wishing for things will never be a substitute for praying for things.
See Matthew 21:22
When we pray, believe that we will receive.
Keep saying to yourself: “I believe and I receive” Joy and pleasure come with believing, so make sure you keep praying for the right things. (Not just the bad things in life, but the good)

We need to learn to be still in his presence so that we can hear what he is saying to our heart. Find a quite place to meditate if possible and open your heart and soul to God.

(See Psalm 46:10)

God does not cover up our sins, he removes them completely when we pray for forgiveness, so we don’t need to spend a lot of our time in guilt mode asking God for forgiveness.
Were not built for guilt so we need to learn how to receive his mercy. We need also to earn his mercy, deserve his mercy and receive the help that God sends us. How do we do that? Pray and act accordingly.
God wants to give us grace which is unreserved favour and a free gift. Remember that grace is the power of the Holy Spirit.
God gave us his son, (see John 3:16) so surely he will give us other things as well?
However, you cannot give away something to someone else when you do not have it? (Look at love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Help)

(See Hebrews 4:16)

You cannot give mercy if you have not learned how to receive his mercy. God’s love will melt a hard heart so make sure that you pass on his love and pray for others.

Oswald Chambers once said, “We hear it said that a man will suffer in his life is he does not pray; I question it. What will suffer is the life of the Son of God within him, which is nourished not by food but by prayer...Prayer is the way the life of God is nourished”

Remember, God is there for the good times as well as the bad times.

Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is love, enjoy it. Life is costly, care for it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is life, so fight for it.
