Overcoming Faith: More Than an Album

Overcoming Faith was created with one purpose: to help build, strengthen, and maintain the faith of believers through gospel music.

Every song carries a message. Some are about standing when the enemy comes against you. Some are about praise. Others deal with prayer, spiritual warfare, dependence upon the Lord, and simply holding on to what God has promised.

For me, music has never been about entertainment alone. I am an evangelist and the publisher of Heartbeat Christian News, and the same purpose that drives that ministry drives Deliverance Gospel Productions: Good Music for the Soul.

The Bible says:

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” — 1 John 5:4 KJV

There is something quietly refreshing happening in Christian music.

Away from major labels, massive production budgets, and carefully manufactured personas, a growing number of independent artists are creating music that feels deeply personal while remaining firmly rooted in the Gospel. They aren't trying to imitate mainstream trends or chase algorithms—they're writing songs that sound like real life, real faith, and real dependence on Jesus Christ.

One of those artists is Bailey Blanton , a Bay Area Christian singer-songwriter whose music reflects the heart of the indie gospel movement: honest stories, thoughtful songwriting, and an unwavering desire to glorify Christ above everything else.

Minister John Taylor Jr., a gospel artist from Mississippi, is using his voice to uplift and inspire people through real life struggles and strong faith. He first started singing at just 12 years old at New Ebenezer Baptist Church, and since then, music has been a calling. Known as a gospel soloist, his sound is rooted in faith, healing, and truth. What keeps him going is simple. He says the grace of God is his strength, and that message is clear in every song he creates.

His journey has not been easy. Recently diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease, Minister John Taylor Jr. has been facing one of the toughest battles of his life. I am currently booked to sing at a church in St. Joseph, Missouri on Monday, April 13th and would like to find an additional booking for Sunday, April 12, 2026, in the Midwest, such as, Missouri, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana or Iowa. I am available to sing for churches, coffeehouses/cafes, outdoor events, and private events. I can sing various styles of Christian music, such as, CCM, Christian Country, Praise & Worship, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass and traditional hymns.
