About

I am a disabled minister with 40 years full time service for my Lord. I am a Licensed and Ordained Minister of Southern Baptist Faith. I have an Associates degree from Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. and attended Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, Florida (Majored in Theology with a Minor in Music). The name of the college has changed to Florida Baptist College. I have served 12 Churches in my 35 years of service. I served 11 as Minister of Music and Youth Pastor, and I also pastored one church for 4 years. I became disabled in 2006 at the age of 56 years old. I was prescribe a power chair in 2009 to get around in and it was then that I felt led to start a new ministry with Cds. My voice is about the only part of my body left that is any good, so I started recording Cds as a tool to witness for my Lord. How Did The Battle Of Good Verses Evil Begin?

Most Christians know how the battle of Good verses Evil came to be here on earth, but just in case some not, here is the story. The Chain of Command (as I will call it) was God The Father on His Throne in Heaven, Lucifer (Satan or the Devil as he became known) was 2nd under God, with his angels. Then there was Michael, the Archangel, with his angels, and Gabriel, with his angels. This was the heavenly order, but, as we see in Isaiah 14:12-15 Lucifer decided that he wanted to be God, and declared war in heaven.

Isa 14:12-15

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. KJV

Revelation tells us about the war heaven:
Rev 12:7-9
7 And there was war in heaven . Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down — that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. NIV

So you see that Lucifer (The Devil or Satan) decided that he wanted to be God, and Michael and his angels fought against the devil and his angels and won. So the devil and I/3 of the angels in heaven (the angels that he was in control of) were cast down to this earth. The Jews address him again as a fallen once-bright star. The great final enemy, the man of sin of Paul, the Antichrist of John.

Isa 14:12-15
Verse 12. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer - day- star. A title truly belonging to Christ: (Rev 22:16,) "the bright and morning star," and therefore hereafter to be assumed by Antichrist, of whom Babylon is a type; also applied to the angelic "sons of God," "the morning stars." Gesenius, however, renders the Hebrew (heeyleel, (heylel OT:1966 heylel (hay-lale'); from OT:1984 (in the sense of brightness); the morning-star). But the Septuagint, Vulgate, Chaldaic, and Arabic, as the English version (from the Hebrew, haalal, to shine), which is preferable because of the parallelism. The fall of Babylon as a self-idolizing power, the type of mystical Babylon in the Apocalypse (Rev 17:4-5), before the providence of God, is described in language drawn from the fall of Satan himself, the spirit that energized the pagan world-power, and now energizes the apostate Church, and shall hereafter energize the last secular Antichrist. Thus Lucifer has naturally come to be applied to Satan (Luke 10:18; Rev 12:8-9; Jude 6).

(How) art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken - prostrate. The nations - as in Ex 17:13, "discomfit (defeat);" Hebrew, chaalash - (OT:2522 chalash (khaw-lash'); a primitive root; to prostrate; by implication, to overthrow, decay - discomfit, waste away, weaken.)

Verse 13. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. In Dan 8:10, "stars" express earthly civil and religious potentates. "The stars" are often also used to express heavenly principalities (Job 38:7).

I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation - the place of solemn meeting between God and His people, in the temple on Mount Zion at Jerusalem. In Dan 11:37 ("Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god, because he shall magnify himself above all") and 2 Thess 2:4 ("Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God") this is attributed to Antichrist.

In the sides of the north - namely, the sides of Mount Moriah, on which the temple was built; north of Mount Zion (Ps 48:2). Thus, "mount of the congregation" will mean the northern mountain  "Both sides" (Hebrew, yarkªthayim) imply the angle in which the sides meet, and so the expression comes to mean 'the extreme parts of the north.' So the Hindus place the Meru, the dwelling-place of their gods, in the north, in the Himalayan mountains. So the Greeks, in the northern Olympus. The Persian followers of Zoroaster put the Al-bordsch in the Caucasus north of them. The allusion to "the stars" harmonizes with this-namely, the Northern regions were regarded as the seat of special manifestations of the divine glory  'I will set the throne of my kingdom above the people of God, and will sit in the mount of the covenant in the bounds of the north.”

Verse 14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds - Hebrew, the cloud, singular. Perhaps there is a reference to the cloud, the symbol of the divine presence (Isa 4:5; Ex 13:21). So this tallies with 2 Thess 2:4, "above all that is called God:" as here, "above ... the cloud:" and as the Shekinah-cloud was connected with the temple, there follows, "he as God sitteth in the temple of God," answering to "I will be like the Most High" here.

Verse 15. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell - to Sheol (Isa 14:6): thou who hast said, "I will ascend into heaven" (Matt 11:23).

To the sides of the pit - antithetical to the "sides of the North" (Isa 14:13). The dead were ranged in niches. Isa 14:13, translates, 'the extreme,' or innermost parts of the sepulchre; as in Ezra 32:23.

Thusly, because of Satan’s fall and being cast out of Heaven to the earth with his angels, he passed sin to God’s creation of mankind. When Eve yielded to Satan’s temptation and partook of  the fruit of the tree of life, mankind became a sinful being. Every person born was born into sin. Thusly, the battle of right and wrong, good verses evil began, and the battle was on. Mankind needed a way to have victory over sin, so God the Father had a plan for mankind to have eternal life, and also for Satan and sin to once and for all be defeated. That plan was for the Son of God to come down to earth and give His life on the cross of Calvary sacrificing Himself for the sins of mankind. Three days later to be resurrected from the dead having victory over death and Satan.

The bad thing is that we cannot defeat Satan on our own, we need the help of the Lord. So, we are battling Satan, and his evil ways, and that is why we need to stay in the will of God. Jesus absolutely defeats Satan, the Antichrist, and the Beast, and we become the children of God. Why does evil happen? Because of Satan’s desire to be God, and his use of sinful man, evil runs wild on this earth. This is why there is evilness, pains, trials, tribulations, and strife. As a Christian, I have God’s word, and it shows me that we will have victory at the end. What we as Christians must do is seek God’s will for our lives, and walk “In His Steps,” as we go through our daily lives.

So you see that from birth, we have to battle Satan and his evil ways. Our only hope is accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and follow His will for our lives. We need a strong faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to carry us through everything that Satan throws at us. So, because of sin, we are born to die, but through accepting Jesus, we come from being born bad to being made good through our faith in Christ Jesus. In the end, ALL evil is defeated, and GOOD wins. We become the adopted children of God through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity (which has no end).

I hope this little Bible lesson speaks to you as you battle good verse evil in your own life, and makes a difference in your walk with the Lord.

Ps 19:14
14 Let the words of my mouth , and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

AMEN!
