Darrel Armstrong ~ Born in Bucyrus, Ohio. At the age 7, his family moved to Northeastern Kentucky where he currently resides near the small town of Vanceburg. He is known for singing traditional country music & gospel music. Though raised in a musical household, he never began singing until the age of 40. Singing in church & then later on at local talent shows & events. In 2014, he married his highschool sweetheart, Janie. Some of his favorite hobbies are painting, wood carving, hunting & fishing. He has a traditional country music style, heavily influenced by Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley & Alan Jackson & others. A few of his musical highlights was performing at the 2018 Keith Whitley Fingerprint on Country Music Awards in Sandy Hook, Ky. & performing at The 2018 KICMA Awards in Nashville, Tn. His overall goals in music are to help keep the traditional country music style alive & to fight for it's rightful place in mainstream country music. In 2018, his song, "Let's Put Country Back In Country Once Again" was nominated for "Song of the Year" at the 2018 KICMA awards in Nashville, Tn. A song that also has gotten the attention of country music icon, Randy Travis. Darrel was also in the final nominees for "Male Vocalist of the Year", "Songwriter of the Year" & Entertainer of the Year" at the 2018 KICMA awards in October. In a year's time, he has 4 self penned songs that have reached Top 10 status on The Blackdog Morning Show with Phil Kranz's Top 20 Countdown on WAAK Radio, including two songs at #1 & one at #2.
