3 SAYINGS OF PHARAOH - THERE SHALL NOT AN HOOF BE LEFT BEHIND - PART 3
3 individuals in the Bible failed to make a clean break with the world - "Egypt" - and resultantly, met with total destruction. Those individuals were Lot's wife, Ananias, and his wife Sapphira.
In this third and final part of his message entitled - "3 SAYINGS OF PHARAOH" - my son John stresses the necessity of making a clean break with "Egypt" - the world. If not, you will eventually find yourself going back there to pick up what you left behind.
When the devil says as Pharaoh - "Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and herds be stayed," that is when the Child of God must say with utmost determination - "There shall not an hoof be left behind."
God did not call you to negotiate with the devil. If you do, you will meet with utter destruction!
Take heed to this warning from God!

3 Sayings Of Pharaoh - There Shall Not An Hoof Be Left Behind - Part 3

In Exodus 10:24-26, we find an interesting dialogue between Pharaoh and Moses. Let's look at it - remembering that Pharaoh is oftentimes typical of Satan in the Bible and Egypt is often typical of the world.
"And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you. And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices, and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God. Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind..." (Exodus 10:24-26)
In the last point to the message, I talked about not going too far away from Egypt and how it is comparable to not going too far with God.
This time I want to talk about another trick of the enemy - getting God's people to settle for not totally coming out of Egypt.
Think for a moment of what could have happened if the children of Israel had left their cattle in Egypt. As soon as they got hungry, they would have gone back. As soon as they needed to make tents, clothes, or blankets, they would have gone back (since their tents, clothes, etc. were made from animal products). Also, because God required blood sacrifices and when the people of God would have seen that they had no cattle to sacrifice to meet His requirements, they would have gone back to Egypt. (Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:22).
Now let's draw the comparison to our lives today.
Satan not only does not want you to go very far with God, but he also does not want you to totally come out of the world. He wants you to leave something behind that is really precious to you, so at the right time, he can use this to draw you back to the world. He doesn't want you to know what it means to sacrifice your all on the altar before God. He wants to keep part of you tied to the old life of sin.
He does this through a variety of methods. He may use a song that you used to love to party to in the world to get you to look back to your past life. He may use an old relationship with the opposite sex to try to pull you back to sin. He may use your lack of discipline when watching TV to activate something in your heart that you didn't even know was there. Then slowly you begin to be pulled back to your old life. Lastly, he may even use your family members to draw you back to the world.
I have seen this happen on several occasions. I can remember a man telling me that he would serve God - as long as his family served God also. The problem was that this man still had some family members in "Egypt." Soon these people drew him back into a horrible life of sin.
For the past few years, I have ministered in some of the local jails. I have talked with countless inmates who have told me - "...my girlfriend and I were doing really well. We were going to church, reading the Bible, planning to get married, and have a nice Christian home. But then she stopped reading the Bible and going to church. So I stopped doing those things, too. Soon after this, I got into doing a little bit of drugs. I began to do more and more drugs. She started doing them with me. One night, I was pulled over by a cop and busted with crack. Now I'm in here. My girlfriend says that she started going back to church and reading the Bible. I wish I never would have stopped doing that myself."
You see, my friend, if you leave anything precious to you back in Egypt, you will find yourself going back to Egypt to get it. That's why it's time to make a clean break with Egypt. It's time to say with Moses - "...There shall not a hoof be left behind."
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying wait till your boyfriend or girlfriend, family, acquaintances, etc. want to serve God and come out of the world before you do.
What I am saying is that if your heart is still attached to anything in Egypt, you will not go very far with God. Therefore, you must leave Egypt (or the world) with all of you. Your heart, mind, will, and emotions - everything of you - must come out. There must be nothing of you left behind.
Jesus said it this way - "...No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is ft for the kingdom of God" (Luke 9:62).
Now, let's look briefly at three individuals who left something of themselves in Egypt - and what it cost them.
Jesus told us in Luke 17:32 to "Remember Lot's wife."
What is it that Jesus wanted us to remember about her?
It was that she looked back to Sodom (after the angels had told her not to) and became a "pillar of salt" (Genesis 19:17,26).
Apparently, all of Lot's wife had not come out of Sodom. Her body had, but her heart and soul still craved "the good life" inside this wicked city. Satan used this as a hook inside of her to get her to take just one more look back - and meet with total destruction.
How about Ananias and Sapphira?
The Bible says that they - "...sold a possession, And kept back part of the price...and laid it at the apostles' feet" (Acts 5:1-2) In other words, they "lied to the Holy Ghost" (Acts 5:3).
Oh, they looked like nice Christians who had come out of the world - but did they really?
Apparently, their hearts were still into deceitful business practices. They were still tied to their old lives and it cost them their lives (Acts 5:1-11).
My friend, I plead with you today. Don't be of those who draw back to perdition (Hebrews 10:38-39). Don't leave anything of you back in the old life. Come all the way out of "Egypt" and go all the way with God. This is the only way to find eternal blessing and fulfillment.
Determine like Moses that - "...There shall not an hoof be left behind."
