THE CRUCIFIXION
Upon the cross they nailed Him there in agonizing pain
A crown of thorns placed on His head to taunt and bring Him shame
And for his robe they played a game with the tossing of their dice
They mocked and scorned the Holy name of my saviour Jesus Christ

On either side there hung a thief who for their crimes must pay
Said one to Him "You don't deserve to die this dreadful way
I know you are the son of God, remember me my Christ"
And Jesus said, "you'll be with me today in Paradise

" Father ,forgive, they do not know just what it is they do
Into your hands I place my soul and now I come to you "
And then the guard saw He was dead and he pierced His precious side
Water and blood came gushing forth from the Christ, the crucified

Into a tomb they placed Him there for the Sabbath drawed nigh
On Sunday morn they did come forth their spices to apply
And then they saw the stone rolled back, two angels standing there
" Seek not the living among the dead for He's no longer here

Go far and wide and spread the news that Jesus Christ is raised
Tell every one He's Gods own son, oh Lord our God be praised
and for your sins He shed His blood that you might live again
If you would see, eternity, just believe upon His name
