THE RANSOM
CHORUS
30 pieces of silver/ was the price that was paid
Paid for my Saviour/ whom Judas betrayed
But a much better ransom/ by Jesus was made
When He traded His life/ through His sacrifice/ so death could be stayed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They came to the garden/ and took Jesus away
For Judas with a kiss/ his Lord he would betray
But he was grief stricken/ took his own life that day
For 30 pieces of silver/ couldn't take the guilt away
REPEAT CHORUS
They sent Him to the cross/up there on Calvary
They stripped Him of His robe/ and nailed Him to that tree
They mocked Him and scorned Him/ hung Him high for all to see
The ransom that He paid there/ was for all humanity
REPEAT CHORUS
No amount of silver/ and no amount of gold
Could ever pay the price/ to ransom one man's soul
Only innocent blood/ could ever fulfill that role
The ransom that Jesus paid/ will never be fully told
REPEAT CHORUS
