A piece of me was missing

There was this hole only God could fill

I tried filling it with pleasures

But that was not God's will

I tried drugs and alcohol

But none of it gave me a thrill

I tried sex and gambling

But that peace was missing still

And only God could fill that hole

And I didn't find peace, till I gave Him control

Till Jesus came in, forgave my sin, and made me whole

This piece was a perfect fit

And brought His peace to my troubled soul

The peace of God swept over me

When I gave Him control

The piece that I am gaining

Replaced the peace that Satan stole

Now I wouldn't trade His peace

For treasures of purest gold
