About

Our hearts are called to minister to the "bruised reeds and smoldering wicks" of life through music. Many of our songs are wrapped around themes of limitless grace and God's relentless pursuit of the lost, the broken, the weary, and the prodigals. Artists from all over the world including Australia, Ireland, Finland, even Israel, have recorded our songs. Stateside Indies also include – Trish Standley, Chad Boswell, The Dayspring Trio and many, many more. We have been selected as winners in the SONG OF THE YEAR & Contemporary Christian Songwriters' contests several times.

At Just The Right Time

The morning sun seemed to kiss the dew on the grass as it rose above the burgeoning lushness of the trees in the backyard.  I noticed several new flower shoots had pushed their way out of the earth ostensibly overnight, extremely noticeable as they were on a particularly barren piece of ground.

A spontaneous grin, not smile, along with an involuntary giggle, interrupted my somber thoughts in a most delightful way, for yesterday I had gone to visit my brother, Alan, in the hospital and was standing at the window praying for him when I saw the sweet greenery on that unsightly bald spot of land.

You see, Alan had planted that flower several years back.  I suppose he must have had mercy on me and my husband, Greg, for we can kill houseplants and my brother can make any type of foliage, not only grow, but also thrive.  In that moment, a seed he had planted, unnoticed for months, had sprung forth at the appointed time blessing the earth with its beauty and my heart with its history and its lesson.

The beauty of the blossom is obvious, the history , a memory that becomes more fragrant with the years as I recall his constant muttering about how it might or might not live, and though no grass or weed has managed to take root on this pitiful piece of ground, that flower shows up and shows off!

I am speaking both literally and figuratively when I say to go wherever you can as often as you can and plant as many seeds as possible.  Plant them where it appears obvious that they will grow and flourish but also plant the seeds where it may seem as though nothing could possibly grow.

[1] “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.”  You may not even be privy to the knowledge when a seed of encouragement, exhortation, love, hope, peace, wisdom, kindness or any other noble genus will burst forth in a person’s life at JUST THE RIGHT TIME!
