Echo Our Father (The Lord's Prayer) - as sung by Jack Marti

Category: Music
Duration: 00:03:30
Description:
I first uploaded my rendition of this song in October of 2008 without the echo part because at the time I didn't know how to do overlays! Finally, 12 plus years later, I had the bright idea to add the echo part to my original video, so it's kind of like I'm singing a duet with my 52-year-old self now that I'm sixty-four! I thought that was kind of a neat idea!

I learned this version of the Lord's Prayer while as yet an unbeliever I attended a Catholic guitar mass back in the mid-'70s. I went mostly because I wanted to play guitar and sing with other people, and that was the most convenient way I could find to do it at the time. They even came and picked me up at the Orientation Center for the Blind in Albany, California every Sunday to attend the guitar mass with them. I was the only one with a 12-string guitar so perhaps they thought that added something to the ensemble! Anyway, I enjoyed my time playing and singing with them! I'm a Seventh-day Adventist today which is a bit of a departure from the Catholic church, but I still have very fond memories of my time with that group of young folks and Bob Guisti and Sister Dianna who led out!

Our Father (Our Father)
Who art in heaven (who art in heaven)
Hallowed be Thy Name (Hallowed be ...)
Thy kingdom come (Thy kingdom come)
Thy will be done (Thy will be done)
On earth as it is in heaven (On earth ...)
Give us this day (Give us this day)
Our daily bread (Our daily bread)
And forgive us our trespasses (And forgive ...)
As we forgive (as we forgive)
Our trespassers (our trespassers)
Those who trespass against us (those who ...)
And lead us not (and lead us not)
Into temptation (into temptation)
But deliver us from evil (but deliver ...)
For Thine is the kingdom (For Thine ...)
And the power (and the power)
Glory now and forever (glory now and ...)
Amen, amen (amen, amen)
Amen, amen (amen, amen)
Amen, amen, amen (amen, amen, amen)
