Pastor Dan

About

I was called to be a pastor at the age of 16, but I refused to become one on the bases of my thought of not being a good pastor. Over the years of mistakes and many bad choices, led me to die on Easter Sunday of 2001. It was then I answered the calling of being a pastor.

A Right Attitude Is A Choice

A Right Attitude Is A Choice

Palm Sunday

Zech 9:9-12 Matt 21:1-11

How many of you have ever been to a parade that had different things in

it from bands, to floats, to drill teams and more? In a parade you

never know what is going to come up next, whether you will feel good

about it, or just want it to hurry up and get out of the way.

Life itself is like a parade. You never quite know what is coming next.

Although you cannot determine, what's coming, you can determine what

your attitude toward whatever it is going to be.

Our attitude is a choice. It is something that's very valuable, because

it lets us be in control of how we feel inside. If...

Faith In Easter

By Pastor Dan, 2010-04-04
Faith In Easter

Corinthians 15:12-22

This week we're going to cover one of the most pivotal events in all of

human history – the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the

dead. But we're going to cover it from a unique perspective. You're

going to see not only what the resurrection of Jesus means to you for

eternity but also how it helps you every day.

We're going to see why Easter has meaning and how that meaning impacts

your every-day life. We're going to begin this week why Easter having

meaning because of faith. Let's correct a big misconception about faith

before we get started on our Journey.

Faith is not a blind stab in the dark. Faith is not just believing

something because it sounds...

Suffering Of Insecurity

By Pastor Dan, 2010-04-11
The Suffering Of Insecurity

Zephaniah 3:17

One of the greatest challenges each of us faces in life is becoming
comfortable in our own skin. In fact, insecurity is a big problem
throughout our culture. This may stem from childhood experiences,
mobility, and even the harsh and critical spirit in our culture
– just watch how people talk to one another on some of the
news shows.

Facing insecurity is so important because a person who is secure with
himself or herself is much more likely to achieve more loving and
meaningful relationships. Feelings of insecurity make it more difficult
for us to show love and to be loved. So we've got to come to terms with
our insecurity if we want to enjoy the love God created us to enjoy.
And this is a problem that men face just...

God Does Care

God Does Care

Hebrews 6:11-20

We begin a new series this week. We're going to utilize the New

Testament book of Hebrews because it was initially written to a group

of people pondering the care of God.

Times were hard for the Jewish Christ followers in the First Century of

the church. They faced persecution and misunderstanding. Consequently

they thought about leaving their lifestyles of following Christ and

going completely back to Jewish worship.

This letter was written to encourage them by showing them how very much

God cared about them.

As you will know back in December I wrote a series using the first 5

chapters of Hebrew. Lets journey farther within this book and see where

God leads us. We begin this...

God Does Care Part 2

God Does Care

Part 2

Hebrews 7:1-28

The problem is not usually the problem. The problem is often our lack

of information or our failure to focus on the information.

We're in the series, "God Does Care" and we're considering the letter

of Hebrews written to Christ followers of the First Century who were

discouraged. They entertained thoughts of giving up and turning back.

In this very encouraging correspondence God lets them know that there

is nothing "better" than following Christ. In the 7th chapter one of

the most mysterious characters in the Bible is used to show how much

God cares for us.

Hebrews 7:1 This Melchizedek was king of the city of Salem and also a

priest of God Most...

God Does Care Part 3

God Does Care
Part 3

Hebrews 8:1-13

Last week we looked at some attitudes we need to have when we're facing

difficulty. We reconsidered the fact that the problem isn't always the

problem. The problem is our attitude, or our focus about our problems.

We need to focus on our Great High Priest, Jesus, who is able to help

us successfully confront any problem.

Last week we gave attention to our minds. Today we want to give

attention to our hearts. Ever sensed that you needed what we often call

a change of heart? You know some things in your mind but brain function

isn't enough.

I want to approach Hebrews chapter 8 in our last part of our series

"God Does Care"

It's one thing to change your mind,...

Happy Mother's Day, Mom

By Pastor Dan, 2010-05-11
Happy Mother's Day, Mom

Proverbs 31:10-31 Ephesians 5:25-6:3

Today we take time to honor over half of the species of the human race.

She has often been called the crown of creation, the very best of the

work of God's hands. All of us who are here today have come through the

marvelous body of a woman. All of us who are here today owe a debt to

our mothers, for how do you pay someone for the gift of your life. But

not only do we owe a debt to our mothers, we owe debts to many women

who have shaped our lives as our grandmothers, our great grandmothers,

our sisters, our aunts, our teachers, our counselors, our pastors, and

in a thousand other...
