 Album Notes

Thank you for visiting my page. I am Paul M Williams, West Virginia's Singing Cowboy! An easy title, nobody else wants it...

I have been playing guitar and singing for many years. John Denver and Jim Croce were among my favorites when I started learning to play. Later I rediscovered the cowboy songs my grandfather had played for me when I was little. I learned to play many of them, mostly from memory, and began to incorporate some of that style into my picking. I was the singing cowboy at Antietam Recreation's Cowboy Christmas shows for a few years, keeping folk entertained at the campfire while they were getting ready for the show. I also play and lead the singing at my home church, Alpine, in Berkeley Springs, WV

I wrote my first song, Shenandoah Skies, after a trip my late wife and I made on Skyline Drive. Using the photos we had taken as inspiration, I tried to share the feeling of beauty and joy that trip gave me.

The other original songs in this album are about events in my life since I lost Annette in a wreck in February of 2016. Relationships I wish had turned out better, my search for where my new life might lead, and the faith I have found more deeply in the time that has passed. The cover songs that I chose to add fit in and expand on these ideas.

Thanks again for visiting, I hope you will enjoy the songs I have put together in this album as much as I have enjoyed playing and singing them. See you down the trail!
