South Carolina’s Gullah Geechee slave culture yielded this famous Black spiritual, “Let Us Break Bread Together.” Acknowledging Communion’s origin in God’s ultimate merciful act, my title changed to the Kyrie Eleison (“Lord, have mercy”) of the Catholic tradition. And God’s act of mercy reached its fulfillment in the Resurrection, so I also traded the historic lyric – “rising sun” – for “Risen Son.”
A version of an old black spiritual from South Carolina's Geechee Slave culture by "tendollardog". Powerful
Lead vocals and background vocals with a strong message.
