"THE POWER OF PRAYER" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

THE POWER OF PRAYER

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY JESUS' DISCIPLES ASKED HIM TO TEACH THEM TO PRAY INSTEAD OF HOW TO DO MIRACLE OR PREACH?  LET'S LOOK AT  LUKE 11:1 WHERE IT SAYS, And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples'.

HE WAS THE GREATEST MIRACLE WORKER AND PREACHER WHO EVER LIVED BUT I BELIEVE THE DISCIPLES KNEW JESUS' PRAYER LIFE WAS EVEN...

"WHAT DO YOU CELEBRATE?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

WHAT DO YOU CELEBRATE?

ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO I WROTE A MESSAGE ON ANNIVERSARIES AND HOW WE CELEBRATED THEM BUT I HAVE JUST A FEW MORE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THE SUBJECT.  THE DICTIONARY DEFINES ANNIVERSARY AS "The annually recurring date of a past event" BUT SHOULD WE CELEBRATE ALL OF THEM?  LET'S START WITH OUR BIRTHDAY.  SOME PEOPLE CELEBRATE THEIRS AND SOME WANT TO JUST PASS THEM UP, ESPECIALLY THE BIG "30".  JUST A SIDE NOTE.....ISN'T IT FUNNY WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG, YOU ALWAYS WANT PEOPLE TO THINK YOU ARE OLDER THAN YOU ARE AND WHEN YOU ARE OLD, LIKE ME, YOU WOULD THINK WE WOULD WANT TO TRY TO BE YOUNGER BUT WE ARE PROUD THAT WE HAVE LIVED THIS LONG AND WANT PEOPLE TO HEAR ABOUT IT.  I AM 81 AND PROUD OF IT....SEE WHAT I...

"TARES AMONG THE WHEAT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Tares Among The Wheat

Matthew 13:25, 'But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.'

MATTHEW 13:24-30

Satan has secretly infiltrated the Church with some of his followers for the purpose of hindering the influence of the Church. This has been a more effective strategy than direct opposition.

These tares that are spoken of refer to the Old World variety of darnel, which is poisonous. Virtually all grains are almost indistinguishable from tares when they send up the first blade from the ground. By the time the tares become distinguishable, they are so well rooted that, if growing in close proximity to a productive grain, uprooting the tares would also mean uprooting the productive...

"HIS LOVE IS OUR LIGHT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

His Love Is Our Light

Mark 4:21, 'And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?'

MARK 4:21-25

Just as a candle or lamp is not to be hid, but rather displayed so that everyone can benefit from its light, so a Christian must let his light so shine before men that they might see his good works and glorify his Father which is in heaven. God has ordained us to go and bring forth fruit (Jn. 15:16). The great commission of the Church is to reach the world.

The early Christians experienced the love of Christ in an intimate and life-transforming way. This motivated them to reach their known world with the Gospel of Christ more than any other generation of...

"HAVE FAITH, NOT FEAR" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HAVE FAITH, NOT FEAR

GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE.  ISN'T IT A REAL PLEASURE TO CELEBRATE OUR RISEN LORD AND SAVIOR.  WE ARE THE ONLY RELIGION THAT CAN SAY OUR GOD LIVES.  I KNOW THIS EASTER WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT WE HAVE HAD IN THE PAST BUT THIS WILL BE A GREAT TIME TO REALLY PRAISE, WORSHIP AND THANK HIM FOR ALL OF OUR BLESSINGS.

I KNOW THERE IS A LOT OF GARBAGE GOING AROUND ON HOW BAD THINGS ARE AND IT SEEMS TO STIR UP A LOT OF FEAR IN SOME PEOPLE.  WELL, LET ME TELL YOU SOME THINGS ABOUT FEAR.  1ST JOHN 4:18 SAYS "There is no fear in love; but...

GOD'S AND JESUS' GREAT LOVE

DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD TRULY LOVES US?  HE IS NOT FAR OFF IN HEAVEN WATCHING US TO SEE IF WE ARE GOING TO SIN LIKE SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE.  HE LOVES US BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS DID FOR US.  BEFORE JESUS TOOK OUR SINS AWAY, WE COULDN'T EVEN GO STRAIGHT TO GOD IN PRAYER   KNOWING ALL OF WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, WATCHING THE REJECTION JESUS WOULD FACE, THE PAIN HE WOULD SUFFER ON THE CROSS, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN HE HAD TO TURN HIS BACK ON JESUS ON THE CROSS BECAUSE HE COULD NOT LOOK ON ALL THAT SIN.  DO YOU REMEMBER THE WORDS OF JESUS, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"  THEN THE BIBLE SAYS "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."  I AM SURE THAT THIS HURT MORE THAN ANY OF THE BEATINGS, THE NAILS AND HANGING ON THE CROSS.

"WORLDLY CARES ARE THORNS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-04-11

Worldly Cares Are Thorns

Luke 8:14, 'And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.'

LUKE 8:5-14

This third type of ground is characteristic of a large part of the Body of Christ today. These are people who have received God's Word, committed themselves to it to the degree that they are able to remain faithful in persecution, but because of being occupied with the affairs of this life, the Word sown in their heart is choked and no fruit is produced. Just as weeds in a garden will steal all of the nutrients and starve the plant, so the pleasures of this life, if we allow them to dominate our thinking,...

"NO DISTRACTIONS, PLEASE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

No Distractions, Please

Mark 4:16, 'And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;'

MARK 4:13-20

The second type of person Jesus describes is one who does receive the Word, even with great joy, but his commitment to the Word is shallow. Just as a plant must establish a strong root system to sustain its growth, so we must become rooted and grounded in God's Word. Too much attention on visible growth will cause us to become impatient and not take the time to become firmly established in the truths of God's Word. This will always result in fruitlessness.

A seed planted in shallow earth will germinate and grow faster than a seed planted in...

WE MUST WATCH OUR WORDS

DO YOU SWEAR OR SAY BAD WORDS?  DO YOU THINK IT IS A SIN TO DO THIS? THE BIBLE HAS A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS AND I WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT A FEW THINGS IT BRINGS UP.  PAUL WROTE IN EPHESIANS 4:29 TO "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."  PETER PUTS IT A LITTLE DIFFERENT WHEN HE SAYS IN 1ST PETER 3:10 "For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile".

THE WORKS OF THE FLESH
Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
