ARE YOU LIVING A CHRISTIAN LIFE?

DO YOU THINK IT IS HARD TO LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE?  IT IS IF WE ARE NOT GIVING ENOUGH ATTENTION TO JESUS. I KNOW THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS OUT THERE THAT CAN TEMPT US.  OUR JOB IS TO SEE THAT THEY DO NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH US.  PEOPLE BELIEVE WE CHRISTIANS DO NOT HAVE FUN BUT WE DO.  I HAVE MORE FUN AT A GOOD BIBLE STUDY CLASS THEN I EVER DID AT A POKER GAME.  I HAVE MORE FUN IN CHURCH THAT I EVER DID SITTING IN A BAR DRINKING.  IT IS WHERE YOU CHOOSE TO BE.

LIFE IS WHAT WE MAKE IT.  LET PEOPLE KNOW YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN BUT BE SURE YOU ACT LIKE ONE.  I AM PROUD OF MY LOVE FOR JESUS.  I WAS IN SALES MOST OF MY LIFE AND AT FIRST WHEN I WOULD TALK ABOUT JESUS PEOPLE WOULD PRETTY MUCH LEAVE ME ALONE.  THE MORE I WOULD MENTION JESUS, JUST IN CONVERSATION, THE MORE AT EASE PEOPLE BECAME AROUND ME.  THEY KNEW WHERE I STOOD AND IT GOT TO WHERE IF SOMEONE WAS HAVING A PROBLEM OR WAS SICK, THEY WOULD ASK ME TO PRAY FOR THEM.  I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAY, "OH YES, I WILL PRAY FOR YOU", AND THEN FORGET ABOUT IT.  I WOULD PRAY FOR THEM RIGHT THERE IN THEIR SHOP, THEIR STORE OR WHEREVER WE WERE. PEOPLE WANT WHAT WE HAVE BUT THEY JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET IT.  IT IS OUR JOB TO TELL THEM.

TEMPTATION IS A HARD THING TO OVERCOME.  HEBREWS 4:15 SAYS THAT JESUS "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."  THE SAME SPIRIT THAT IS IN JESUS IS IN US AND GOD GAVE US A FREE WILL TO DO RIGHT OR WRONG.  AND, DON'T EVER SAY THAT GOD WAS TEMPTING YOU TO SHOW SOMETHING TO YOU OR TO SEE IF YOU WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING OR NOT.  JAMES 1:13 SAYS "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:"  YOU CAN'T BE TEMPTED BY SOMETHING YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT.  SIN STARTS IN THE MIND.

JUST KEEP YOUR HEART AND MIND FOCUSED ON JESUS.  HE IS ASKING US TO LET HIM LIVE IN US.  GALATIANS 2:20 SAYS " I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."  IT IS HARD TO SIN WHEN YOU ARE EITHER IN CHURCH, READING YOUR BIBLE, PRAYING FOR SOMEONE OR JUST TALKING TO JESUS.  IT IS ALL WHERE YOUR FOCUS IS.  WE ALL NEED TO GET SO CLOSE TO JESUS AND SO TUNED INTO HIM THAT WE EVEN DREAM ABOUT HIM.  NOW THAT IS A GOOD NIGHT.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"ONE IN THE SPIRIT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-12-03

One In Spirit

Matthew 27:18 'For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.'

Many problems arise from envy. James said, 'For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work' (Jas. 3:16). Envy and strife go hand in hand and open the door to the devil to do anything he desires, in our life. Some people would never give place to the devil through confessing the wrong things, yet through envy, they give the enemy freedom to do his worst. God's kind of love is not envious or jealous because it doesn't seek it's own, but seeks the welfare of others. Envy is an indication of self-centeredness.

The Apostle Paul had some opponents who were just like many people who sow strife today. They are against everything and critical of the way those in authority handle things. They make big statements about what they would do if they were in authority, but it's all talk. They haven't proven themselves successful in managing even the smallest things, yet they want to be put in charge of big things, just based on their talk. This is not the system of advancement that Jesus advocates (Mt. 25:21; Lk. 16:11-12; 19:17).

The Lord has united every born-again Christian by baptizing us all into the body of Christ. This is already a reality. Like it or not, want it or not, every Christian is completely one in spirit with every other Christian.

Failure to function as one, in our relationships with other believers means someone is not flowing in the Spirit. Our flesh is the part of us that gets in strife with other believers. As we operate in the Spirit more and more, we will come more and more into unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Religious Pride Brings Dissension

Mark 15:10 'For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.'

The Jews were God's chosen people and therefore, God's representatives on earth. Yet, they lied and condemned an innocent man to death. Pilate could see that their real motivation for wanting Jesus dead was envy. They were doing all their religious works to be seen of men, and were upset that Jesus was getting more recognition than they were. If these Jews would have thought about what type of witness they were giving, even they would have known that their actions were not inspired by God.

We should remember that we are God's witnesses on earth, or as Paul said, 'We are epistles... known and read of all men' (2 Cor. 3:2). Judging our actions in the light of, 'What kind of witness will this give to others?' will help us discern whether or not we are being led of God.

The chief priests had deceived themselves and other religious people into believing that they were condemning Jesus for godly reasons, but even an ungodly ruler like Pilate could see through their lies. Religious bondage blinds people to the truth even more than sin does.

These rulers wanted to retain their power and authority, so they fought against the power and authority of Jesus. This is still the same today. Men use doctrinal issues to disguise the real issue. The truth is that, 'Only by pride cometh contention' (Prov. 13:10). People who love to have the preeminence (3 Jn. 9) are usually the instigators of persecution.

"CAN YOU HEAL THE SICK?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-12-02

CAN YOU HEAL THE SICK?

A WHILE BACK I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH HEALING. LET ME EXPLAIN.  I WOULD PRAY FOR GOD TO HEAL SOMEONE AND THEY WOULDN'T GET HEALED ALTHOUGH THE BIBLE SAYS HE ANSWERS EVERY PRAYER.  JESUS SAYS IN MATTHEW 7:7 TO "Ask, and it shall be given you".  HE DOESN'T SAY THAT IT MIGHT BE GIVEN TO YOU.

NOW LET'S LOOK AT WHAT MY PROBLEM WAS.  FIRST OF ALL, I WAS ASKING JESUS TO HEAL THE PERSON WHEN HE PLAINLY SAID IN MATTHEW 10:8 FOR US TO "Heal the sick", NOT THAT HE WAS GOING TO DO IT.  NOW I KNOW WE CAN'T HEAL ANYONE ON OUR OWN BUT IF WE HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE HIS WORD AND ASK IN LINE WITH HIS WORD AND IN HIS NAME, WE CAN DO IT.  IF WE COULDN'T, HE WOULD NOT HAVE TOLD US TO DO IT.  IN 1ST JOHN 5:14 IT SAYS "if we ask any thing according to his will". DO YOU SEE MY PROBLEM?  I WAS NOT ASKING IN HIS WILL BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT IT IS HIS WILL FOR ALL OF US TO BE HEALED AND FOR US TO DO IT.

LET ME LEAVE YOU WITH THIS.  DO YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN HEAL SOMEONE? IF YOU SAID NO OR THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE, THEN IT WON'T WORK FOR YOU.  YOU HAVE TO HAVE FAITH THAT YOU CAN DO THESE THINGS.  NOW IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS, JUST LOOK WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT YOU IN JOHN 14:12 WHERE HE SAYS "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." WE SHALL DO GREATER WORKS, THAT IS SAYING QUITE A LOT KNOWING WHAT HE DID.  HE SAYS YOU CAN EVEN RAISE THE DEAD.  WE DO HAVE THE POWER TO DO ALL OF THESE THINGS IF WE WOULD JUST BELIEVE HIM. THAT IS OUR PROBLEM AND IT IS ABOUT TIME WE GET REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT WHAT HE IS TELLING US TO DO AND DO IT.  WE CAN'T JUST PLAY AT BEING A CHRISTIAN.

ONE OTHER THING AND I ALWAYS REMIND EVERYONE OF THIS WHEN I WRITE ON HEALING.  YOU FIRST HAVE TO KNOW THAT THE PERSON YOU ARE TRYING TO HEAL HAS FAITH THAT JESUS WILL DO IT FOR HIM OR HER. IF THEY DON'T BELIEVE THEN IT WON'T WORK.  ALSO, A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO BE HEALED.  YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY BUT I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WHO LOVED THE ATTENTION WHEN THEY WERE SICK. ALL WE CAN DO WITH THESE PEOPLE IS TO PRAY FOR THEM.

SO, IF YOU HAVE PRAYED FOR SOMEONE TO BE HEALED AND YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT HEALING RIGHT AWAY, DON'T GIVE UP. YOU HAVE DONE YOUR PART AND THE REST IS UP TO JESUS. HE WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO.  ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE HEALED WHEN YOU PRAY.  AGAIN, I KNOW IT IS HIM THAT IS DOING THE HEALING BUT IF HE SAYS FOR US TO DO IT, THEN I KNOW HE WILL DO HIS PART.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"PILATE VIOLATED THE TRUTH" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-12-01

Pilate Violates The Truth

Matthew 27:17 'Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, 'Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ''?

Although Pilate knew that Jesus was innocent, he looked for some diplomatic way to release Jesus that would not cause him to lose popularity with the Jewish leaders. This is why he sent Jesus to Herod. He hoped that Herod would pass judgment on Jesus and save him the trouble.

When that scheme failed, Pilate drew on an old custom of releasing a prisoner to the people at the feast. He gave them a choice between Jesus, who he knew was innocent, and Barabbas, who was a murderer. Pilate thought that the crowd would certainly choose Jesus. However, through the insistence of the chief priests and scribes, the people chose Barabbas to be released.

Pilate was now out of ideas as to how to let Jesus go, and still save face with the Jews, so he condemned Jesus to death. Pilate violated what he knew to be true in his heart because of a fear of men (Prov. 29:25) and what he thought they might do to him. Without the chief priests' cooperation, he ran the risk of unrest among the Jews, and possible punishment by Caesar for failing to govern well.

As it turned out, Pilate was deposed anyway, just a few years later by Tiberius Caesar, and died in exile in Gaul in A.D. 41. At the most, Pilate gained a five-year extension of his troubled rule, and damned his soul in the process. What a person compromises to keep, he'll lose. Sin is never worth the price.

SALVATION.......DON'T LEAVE EARTH WITHOUT IT

WHAT IS SALVATION?  THE DICTIONARY DEFINES IT AS "The redemption of man from the bondage of sin and liability to eternal death, and the conferring on him everlasting happiness. This is the great salvation."  THAT IS WHAT JESUS DID FOR US IF WE WILL JUST ACCEPT IT.

IT HAS OFTEN BEEN PRESENTED THIS WAY AS THE WAY TO ESCAPE THE JUDGEMENT OF HELL.  PEOPLE ARE BORN AGAIN WITH THIS KIND OF SALVATION BUT I THINK THEY LOOK AT JESUS AS THE ONE WHO WILL DELIVER THEM BUT NOT THE ONE WITH WHOM THEY CAN HAVE AN INTIMATE, PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP.  SALVATION IS THE ONLY WAY OF GETTING INTO A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.  WE LOST THE CLOSENESS WHEN ADAM SINNED.  SIN SEPARATES US FROM GOD BUT THROUGH JESUS, THAT SIN WAS TAKEN AWAY.  IT SAYS IN 1 CORINTHIANS 15:22 For as in Adam all die , even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

WE WERE BORN INTO A SINFUL WORLD.  NO ONE HAD TO TEACH US TO SIN.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO TEACH A SMALL CHILD TO STEAL A TOY OR TO TELL A LIE.  THE BIBLE SAYS IN ROMANS 8:32 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

MOST NON-CHRISTIANS ARE FED UP WITH RELIGION AND I AM AFRAID IT IS THE CHURCH THAT HAS CAUSED IT.  NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE BORN-AGAIN BELIEVERS CAN BE DOING WHAT THEY SHOULD BUT YOU TAKE THAT ONE PERCENT THAT IS OUT DOING THEIR OWN THING AND THAT GIVES THE REST OF US A BAD NAME.

THE NON-BELIEVERS USES THIS AS AN EXCUSE.  "WELL, IF THAT IS THE WAY CHRISTIANS LIVE, I DON'T WANT ANY PART OF IT".  HAVE YOU EVER HEARD SOMETHING ON THAT ORDER BEFORE?  I HAVE AND IF ALL CHRISTIANS WERE LIKE SOME "SO-CALLED" CHRISTIANS I KNOW, I WOULDN'T WANT ANY PART OF IT EITHER.

WHAT THESE PEOPLE NEED IS TO HEAR ABOUT THE LOVE THAT JESUS HAS FOR THEM.  THEY HAVE AN EMPTY PLACE INSIDE OF THEM AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO FILL IT.  THEY NEED JESUS TO FILL IT FOR THEM BUT HOW ARE THEY GOING TO KNOW UNLESS ONE OF US TELLS THEM.  WE HAVE SUCH A BIG JOB TO DO AND I DON'T THINK WE HAVE THAT MUCH TIME IN WHICH TO DO IT.  JESUS SAYS MATTHEW 9:37 "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few."  I AM READY TO STEP UP AND DO MY SHARE, HOW ABOUT YOU?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"THE TWELVE COMMANDMENTS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-11-30

THE TWELVE COMMANDMENTS

DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN CAIN KILLED ABLE, HE DIDN'T KNOW THAT HE HAD SINNED?  IN FACT, NO ONE KNEW THEY WERE SINNING BEFORE THE LAW, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. GOD GAVE THE LAW TO SHOW PEOPLE JUST HOW BAD THEY WERE.  WE SEE THIS IN ROMANS 7:7 WHERE IT SAYS "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."  THE LAW SHOWED PEOPLE WHAT SIN WAS AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE.

ALTHOUGH PEOPLE WERE SINNING BEFORE THE LAW, THEIR SINS WERE NOT CHARGED TO THEM.  ROMANS 5:13 TELLS US THIS WHEN IT SAYS "For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law."  ISN'T IT STRANGE THAT WHEN WE ARE TOLD WE CAN'T DO SOMETHING, WE WANT TO DO IT THAT MUCH MORE.  THIS IS OUR CARNAL NATURE.  ROMANS 7:8 SHOWS US THIS "But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead."

DO YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN, YOUR SINS ARE NOT BEING CHARGED TO YOU?  WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW BUT UNDER GRACE.  WE SHOULD STILL OBEY THE TEN COMMANDMENTS BUT NOT BECAUSE IT IS THE LAW BUT BECAUSE WE LOVE JESUS AND WANT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. PSALM 103:12 TELLS US HOW FAR JESUS REMOVED OUR SINS FROM US WHEN IT SAYS "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

LET'S NOT FORGET THE OTHER TWO COMMANDMENTS JESUS GAVE US IN MARK 12:29-31 WHERE HE SAYS "The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."  DO YOU REALLY LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR?  THAT IS NOT A CHOICE WE HAVE TO MAKE.  IT IS A COMMANDMENT FROM JESUS.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"BASE YOUR RELATIONSHIP ON GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-11-30

Base Your Relationships On God

Matthew 24:12 'And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.'

The only reason that an abundance of iniquity would make anyone's love for the Lord wax cold, is if he were not separated from that iniquity. As with Lot, a righteous man can vex his soul from day to day by hearing and seeing the unlawful deeds of the ungodly (2 Pet. 2:8).

We have to deal with the world's system and those in it, but we need to be careful and maintain proper balance. We should shun relationships with those who influence us negatively more than we influence them positively.

Marriage is one area where this principle is especially true. There is no closer union in life than the marriage relationship. A believer who marries an unbeliever is directly violating this scripture and is toying with disaster. The Lord should be the most important person in our life. How could we possibly become 'one' with a person who doesn't love our Lord?

It is folly to think that after marriage an unbelieving spouse will accept the Lord. Although that does happen, it cannot be guaranteed. In fact, statistics are overwhelmingly against this happening. Regardless of that possibility, a believer who marries an unbeliever is directly violating God's instructions here. It is not a good start to any marriage to spurn God's Word.

Being unequally yoked with unbelievers just doesn't work. Believers and unbelievers are as different as righteousness and unrighteousness, light and dark, Christ and the devil. One has faith and the other has none. One is the temple of God and the other an idol. Any Christian who doesn't see this conflict is deceived.

"STAY ANGRY AT SATAN" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-11-29
STAY ANGRY AT SATAN

I NEVER GET TIRED OF WRITING ABOUT ANGER BECAUSE IT IS SO PREVALENT IN OUR WORLD TODAY AND NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH.  DO YOU THINK IT IS A SIN TO GET ANGRY? JESUS GOT ANGRY.  THE PASSOVER WAS AT HAND AND THE MONEY CHANGERS AND THE JEWS WHO SOLD THE OXEN, SHEEP, AND DOVES TO THE PEOPLE WERE ALL IN THE TEMPLE.  A LOT OF WORSHIPERS HAD COME FROM MILES AWAY AND INSTEAD OF BRINGING THEIR OFFERINGS, THEY BOUGHT THEM IN THE TEMPLE.  THE MONEY CHANGERS WERE THERE BECAUSE SOME OF THEIR MONEY WAS DIFFERENT AND THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE IT INTO THE MONEY THE JEWS USED.

JESUS GOT ANGRY AT WHAT WAS GOING ON.  LOOK WHAT IS SAYS IN JOHN 2:13-16 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

SO, I GUESS THERE IS A RIGHTEOUS ANGER, OTHERWISE, WHY WOULD THE BIBLE SAY IN EPHESIANS 4:26 "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:" THIS IS NOT SAYING TO BE SURE WE REPENT BEFORE NIGHTFALL.  IT IS SAYING FOR US NOT TO LET OUR ANGER STOP AGAINST EVIL.  IT ALSO TELLS US THAT IN ROMANS 12:9 "Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."

I GUESS YOU CAN TELL THE RIGHTEOUS ANGER BY YOUR MOTIVATION AND THAT IT IS DIRECTED AGAINST THE DEVIL WITH NO CONSIDERATION OF SELF.  I WOULD THINK ALL OTHERS WOULD BE CARNAL BECAUSE OF ITS SELF-SERVING AND THAT IS WRONG.  STAY ANGRY BUT AT THE DEVIL.  DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN UPON YOUR WRATH AGAINST HIM. THIS IS A COMMAND FROM THE LORD AND WE NEED TO OBEY HIM.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"GUARD AGAINST DECEPTION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-11-29

Guard Against Deception

Matthew 24:4 'And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.'

MATTHEW 24:3-5

Deception can be avoided or else Jesus would not have said, 'Take heed that no man deceive you.' Satan can only deceive those who allow him to do it.

Ephesians 6:11 tells us to 'Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.' Putting on the whole armour of God will protect you from the deception of the devil. Just wearing part of God's armour will not fully protect you. Many Christians have been running around with the helmet of salvation on but nothing else. There is more to overcoming the devil than just being saved. We have to understand our righteous position in the Lord. We also must possess faith, know the Word, and understand the gospel of peace.

The Christian life is a constant struggle against Satan, who is trying to corrupt us. Most Christians are aware of the warfare, but they don't know where the warfare is occurring. The battle is in our mind. Just as the serpent didn't come against Eve with brute force, but rather used words to deceive her, likewise Satan tries to corrupt us through thoughts contrary to the gospel. Satan's original tactic was deception and that is still his method of operation today.

One of the characteristics of children is that they are easily deceived. They are gullible. One of the things that must take place to move from childhood into sonship is spiritual discernment. This comes from being grounded in the Word of God.

The way to recognize deception is not to analyze all the false claims but rather to become so familiar with what is genuine that a counterfeit will be easily recognizable. Anyone who is truly grounded in the Word of God will not be deceived.
