WE ARE RECONCILED TO GOD



 


IN READING THE CHRISTMAS STORY IN LUKE 2, VERSES 13-14 SAY "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
 


A LOT OF PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT JESUS BROUGHT PEACE BETWEEN MEN ON EARTH BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE.  JESUS BROUGHT PEACE BETWEEN GOD AND MAN, NOT PEACE AMONG MEN.  JESUS SAID, HIMSELF IN MATTHEW 10:34, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."  THIS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO GO STRAIGHT TO GOD WITH OUR...

Just as every sport has disputes that must be settled by the officials, the peace of God is the umpire that settles all disputes as to what the will of God is for our lives. We must learn to listen to and heed the peace of God in our hearts.

When the right time came, God sent forth His Son from Heaven in His pre-existent state, into the world. He was born of a woman (virgin birth) and was made subject to the requirements of the law. DO YOU GET DISCOURAGED ONCE IN A WHILE?  WITH THE WORLD THE WAY IT IS, I AM SURE A LOT OF US DO.  WHEN WE READ ABOUT SOMEONE IN THE BIBLE GETTING DISCOURAGED, IT LETS US KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT HAS A BAD DAY ONCE IN A WHILE.  THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO STAY IN THAT STATE.  GOD ALWAYS GIVES US A WAY OUT.

Proof Of The Resurrection




Matthew 28:11 'Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.'





In the Jews' efforts to prevent anything from happening that would cause people to believe that Jesus was resurrected, they gave one of the most sure proofs of His resurrection. They sealed the tomb so it would be obvious if it had been opened and they obtained a guard of soldiers to protect it.

This removes all doubt that the followers of Jesus could have stolen His body. Therefore, the enemies of Jesus became a historical witness that Jesus literally rose from the dead.

PRAISE GOD FOR PERSECUTION!!!!

 

ARE YOU NOW, OR HAVE YOU EVER, BEEN PERSECUTED BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE FOR JESUS?  IF YOU HAVE, GOOD...REJOICE...BE GLAD...PRAY THAT IT WILL CONTINUE.  DO YOU THINK I AM NUTS FOR SAYING ALL THIS?  LOOK WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS IN MATTHEW 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  NOW YOU SEE WHY I CAN SAY THIS.

 

IF YOU ARE NOT BEING PERSECUTED, MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE A LITTLE MORE OUTGOING IN SHARING THE LOVE OF JESUS.  SURE SOME PEOPLE WILL CALL YOU A JESUS FREAK BUT THEY CAN CALL ME THAT ALL THEY WANT TO BECAUSE IT'S TRUE.  IT JUST GIVES ME MORE FUEL FOR THE FIRE.  NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG, YOU...

Value Christ Higher Than Self

Self-denial is embraced by much of Christianity today. Historically, self-denial has always been a big part of false religion. Most religions of the world teach an abasement of self, but they do it as penitence in order to obtain salvation. This is not the denying of self that the Bible advocates.

True self-denial as the scriptures promote is not self hatred or masochism, but rather an enthroning of Christ above self. We have a new identity in Christ that replaces the old self. We don't...

HAVE YOU ACCEPTED YOUR PEACE?

 

WE ALL DESIRE PEACE BUT MANY PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE IT.  IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN, YOU SHOULD HAVE IT.  IF YOU DON'T, SOMETHING IS WRONG.  YOU ARE EITHER NOT SAVED OR YOU HAVEN'T REACHED OUT AND ACCEPTED IT.    

 

JESUS SAYS IN JOHN 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  IT DOESN'T GET ANY CLEARER THAN THIS.  JESUS SAID IT.  HE ALSO SAYS TO NOT BE TROUBLED OR AFRAID.  ARE YOU TROUBLED OR AFRAID OF ANYTHING?  YOU ALSO HAVE ANOTHER VERSE TO STAND ON.  IT IS 1ST PETER 5:7 WHICH SAYS "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."  IT...

The True Meaning Of The Sabbath




John 19:31 'The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.'





The Sabbath was first mentioned in scripture in Exodus 16, when the Lord miraculously provided manna to the children of Israel in the wilderness. The Israelites were commanded to gather twice as much manna on the sixth day because God would not provide any on the seventh day (Ex. 16:5, 22-30).
