"HEAL SOMEONE TODAY" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HEAL SOMEONE TODAY

EVERY TIME I READ ABOUT HEALING IN THE BIBLE IT MAKES ME WANT TO WRITE SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I KNOW I MIGHT TOUCH ON THE SAME THING SOMETIMES BUT PLEASE JUST BEAR WITH ME. THERE JUST MIGHT BE SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT REALLY NEEDS TO HEAR THIS OR HAS JUST BECOME A FRIEND OF MINE ON FACEBOOK. THANK YOU.

A LOT OF CHRISTIANS END MOST OF THEIR PRAYERS WITH "IF IT BE THY WILL". THIS IS WHETHER THEY ARE PRAYING FOR HEALING, FINANCIAL HELP OR A JOB THEY HAVE APPLIED FOR. AS FOR THE JOB, I CAN SEE PRAYING THIS WAY BECAUSE THE JOB JUST MIGHT NOT BE THE JOB GOD WANTS YOU TO HAVE. THE DEAL IS, WILL YOU ACCEPT HIS ANSWER IF HE SAYS NO? JUST DON'T PUT HIM IN A BOX AND SAY "SHOULD I TAKE THIS JOB OR THAT JOB". HE MIGHT NOT WANT YOU TO HAVE EITHER ONE.

"TARES AMONG THE WHEAT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"TARES AMONG THE WHEAT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 13:25, "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way."

MATTHEW 13:24-30

Satan has secretly infiltrated the Church with some of his followers for the purpose of hindering the influence of the Church. This has been a more effective strategy than direct opposition.

These tares that are spoken of refer to the Old World variety of darnel, which is poisonous. Virtually all grains are almost indistinguishable from tares when they send up the first blade from the ground. By the time the tares become distinguishable, they are so well rooted that, if growing in close proximity to a productive grain, uprooting the tares would also mean uprooting the productive grain. Therefore, verse 30 admonishes us to let both grow together until the harvest. The grains of the tares are long and black in contrast to the wheat, and are easily recognizable...

"TEST THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"TEST THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 22:13 "And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover."

LUKE 22:13

When a true gift of the Spirit is in operation, things will always be as the Lord has said (an exception to this is if there are conditions to meet).

This is the ultimate test of whether or not someone's words are God-inspired (Dt. 18:22).

We cannot be led by just our own feelings concerning the gifts of the Spirit.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 12, the apostle Paul gives us direction governing the use of spiritual gifts that must supersede any urge or leading that we feel.

The first test to apply to any gift of the Spirit is to ask, "Does it glorify Jesus?" That's the point Paul is making. The Holy Spirit will never lead anyone to defame Jesus in any way. Jesus made it very clear that the Holy Spirit would only glorify Him. Any utterance or act that...

"ARE YOU REJOICING?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"ARE YOU REJOICING?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

ARE YOU REJOICING?

ARE YOU BEING PERSECUTED FOR BELIEVING IN AND SHARING JESUS WITH OTHERS? PERSECUTION IS BEING HARASSED OR OPPRESSED, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF YOUR BELIEF IN JESUS.  IF YOU ARE BEING PERSECUTED, LOOK WHAT JESUS TELLS US TO DO IN MATTHEW 5:12 WHEN HE SAYS "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."  OUR BELIEF IN HIM WILL BE REWARDED FAR GREATER THAN ANY SUFFERING WE MIGHT ENCOUNTER.

"DO YOU EVER WONDER?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

 DO YOU EVER WONDER?

I OFTEN WONDERED WHY THE JEWISH PEOPLE, WITH ALL OF THE PROPHECIES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, DIDN'T SEE THAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT JESUS, THE MESSIAH. SOME PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE THAT THE PSALMS WERE WRITTEN BY SEVERAL DIFFERENT WRITERS.  THEY WERE WRITTEN DURING A PERIOD OF ABOUT A...

"WORLDLY CARES ARE THORNS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"WORLDLY CARES ARE THORNS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 8:14, "And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection."

LUKE 8:5-14

This third type of ground is characteristic of a large part of the Body of Christ today. These are people who have received God's Word, committed themselves to it to the degree that they are able to remain faithful in persecution, but because of being occupied with the affairs of this life, the Word sown in their heart is choked and no fruit is produced. Just as weeds in a garden will steal all of the nutrients and starve the plant, so the pleasures of this life, if we allow them to dominate our thinking, will stop the fruit that the Word would have produced.

Throughout history, the Church has always grown in size and strength during persecution. This is because during...

"WHAT IS THE POWER OF GOD?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"WHAT IS THE POWER OF GOD?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

WHAT IS THE POWER OF GOD?

WHAT DOES THE WORD "GOSPEL" MEAN?  WHEN YOU TELL SOMEONE SOMETHING AND SAY "THAT IS THE GOSPEL TRUTH", YOU ARE SUGGESTING THAT THIS IS ONE MEANING OF THE WORD. (Gospel: Something regarded as true and implicitly believed.) WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE "GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST", TWO DEFINITIONS ARE 1. The teachings of Jesus and the apostles; the Christian revelation. AND 2. The story of Christ's life and teachings, especially as contained in the first four books of the New Testament, namely Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. DON'T DWELL ON THESE TWO DEFINITIONS.

WE NEED TO SEE WHAT THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THE "GOSPEL"? WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE SE

"NO DISTRACTIONS, PLEASE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"NO DISTRACTIONS, PLEASE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Mark 4:16, "And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;"

MARK 4:13-20

The second type of person Jesus describes is one who does receive the Word, even with great joy, but his commitment to the Word is shallow. Just as a plant must establish a strong root system to sustain its growth, so we must become rooted and grounded in God's Word. Too much attention on visible growth will cause us to become impatient and not take the time to become firmly established in the truths of God's Word. This will always result in fruitlessness.

A seed planted in shallow earth will germinate and grow faster than a seed planted in deep soil. The seed in deep soil will put all of its energy towards the roots first while the seed in shallow soil has no choice but to put its effort into the growth of the plant...

"UNDERSTANDING GOD'S WORD" BY ANDREW WOMACK

"UNDERSTANDING GOD'S WORD" BY ANDREW WOMACK

Luke 8:12, "Those by the wayside are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved."

LUKE 8:4-13

The first type of person Jesus describes is someone who doesn't understand God's Word (Mt. 13:19). Before God's Word can penetrate your heart, you have to understand (not comprehend) what it's saying. If the Word isn't understood, then it will be like seed scattered on top of hard-packed ground (the wayside). The birds will eat the seed and there will be no fruit.

Mark 4:15 and Luke 8:12, make it clear that these birds represent Satan, and Mark says the devil comes immediately to steal away the Word. Satan did not have direct access to the Word in any of the other heart-types which Jesus described. Satan cannot steal the Word from us if we will hide it in our hearts (Ps. 119:11). This first type of person...
