                           JESUS, THE LAMB OF GOD

WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?  TO MOST OF US CHRISTIANS, I CAN'T SAY FOR ALL, HE IS GOD, THE SON OF GOD, AND OUR SAVIOR WHO DIED FOR US. HE IS MUCH, MUCH MORE BUT YOU GET THE POINT.  NOW LET'S LOOK AT WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT HIMSELF.

"HE BECAME LIKE US" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 2:52, "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man."

How could it be that Jesus, who was God (Jn. 1:1; 1 Tim. 3:16), and in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, increased in wisdom? (Col. 2:3)

God is a Spirit (Jn. 4:24). Jesus, as God, had existed as a Spirit forever.

When He came to the earth as Jesus, he was Lord at birth, but that was in His Spirit (Lk. 2:11). His Spirit didn't have to grow or increase in wisdom but His physical body did.

The Lord could have done things differently, but He didn't. Jesus came into this world in His physical body exactly as we did. He had to grow and learn.

He became just like us so that we could become just like Him (2 Cor. 5:21).

This is the great exchange. He became like us so that He could bear all our iniquities and become a mercy high priest for us (Heb....

"JESUS PREPARED HIMSELF" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"JESUS PREPARED HIMSELF" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

LUKE 2:46, "And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions."

LUKE 2:41-51

This is the only scriptural record of Jesus' childhood. Yet there is much that we can learn from this brief account.

At twelve years of age, Jesus' wisdom astounded the men who had spent a lifetime studying the scriptures (v. 47). Remember that Jesus did not have full time access to a copy of the scriptures like we do today. He had to depend on His visits to the synagogue and the direct revelation knowledge from His heavenly Father.

He was also asking these scholars questions (v. 46). This is amazing when you realize that in Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge! (Col. 2:3) Although He was God, He inhabited a physical human body that needed to be educated.

He also had a...

"ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOUR MIRACLE?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOUR MIRACLE?

A LOT OF PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT GOD CAN DO MIRACLES BUT JUST NOT FOR THEM.  THEY DON'T FEEL WORTHY ENOUGH AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THEM.  ARE YOU ONE OF THESE PEOPLE?  YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THAT GOD SEES YOU RIGHTEOUS BECAUSE OF JESUS.  IF YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL DO IT FOR JESUS, THEN YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE HE WILL DO IT FOR YOU.

"SPIRITUAL WARFARE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"SPIRITUAL WARFARE" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

MATTHEW 2:16, "Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men."

MATTHEW 2:16-23

Satan was the real motivator of Herod's actions. Ever since the Lord first prophesied that a man would bruise his head, Satan has been seeking out this "seed" of the woman (Gen. 3:15).

It appears that Satan is able to perceive when the Lord is making a major move in the earth. In the days of Moses, Satan moved Pharaoh to kill all the male children of the Israelite slaves, and here he motivates Herod to kill all the male children in Bethlehem. No doubt he was seeking to eliminate this "seed" who was going to bruise his head.

Once again, we see children being...

"DO YOU OBEY JESUS 'AT ONCE' OR 'IMMEDIATELY'? BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DO YOU OBEY JESUS "AT ONCE" OR "IMMEDIATELY"?

HAVE YOU EVER READ IN MATTHEW WHERE JESUS CALLED HIS FIRST DISCIPLES?  LET'S LOOK AT IT.  (MATTHEW 4:18-22 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.)...

"HEROD'S FOLLY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"HEROD'S FOLLY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Mt. 2:13, "...for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him."

MATTHEW 2:13-15

Herod had ruled over Judaea for nearly forty three years at the time of these events. He had the title of King conferred on him by the Roman senate at the recommendation of Antony and Octavius. His accomplishments included the building of the temple in Jerusalem which was one of the most magnificent structures in the world. Most people would have thought that Herod had it "made".

However, history reveals that Herod was extremely paranoid. He actually killed his wife and one of his sons because he feared they would take the kingdom from him. All his power and fame couldn't buy him the peace that the angels proclaimed (Lk. 2:8-14). His paranoia led him to kill the innocent children in Bethlehem. His insecurity was evident. He had everything and yet he had nothing.

In contrast, the King that...

"BELIEVE THE WORD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 2:1, "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem."

MATTHEW 2:1-12

How could this be? The greatest event in the history of God's dealings with mankind was taking place and the leaders of God's people didn't even know about it. Foreigners who were unfamiliar with the covenants of God perceived what God was doing more than His own chosen people! (Eph. 2:12)

The apparent answer to this is that these Persian wise men were more in tune to the prophecies of scripture than the Jews were. Daniel had been promoted to be the head of all the wise men of Babylon (Dan. 2:48). While in Babylon, Daniel had come through the lions' den victoriously and had no doubt gained the reputation as the greatest wise man of all (Dan. 6).

It was during this time that Daniel wrote the prophecy of Dan....

"WILL HOLINESS ALONE GET YOU TO HEAVEN?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

WILL HOLINESS ALONE GET YOU TO HEAVEN?

HAVE YOU EVER READ THE DEFINITION OF "HOLY".  I JUST LOOKED IT UP AND HERE IS WHAT I FOUND.  "Belonging to, derived from, or associated with a divine power; sacred."  THIS IS OUR LORD.  HE IS HOLY.  WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT US BEING HOLY?  "Living according to a strict or highly moral religious or spiritual system; saintly."  ARE YOU HOLY?

HERE IS A GOOD QUESTION. DO YOU THINK A PERSON WHO IS NOT BORN AGAIN CAN BE HOLY?  LET'S SAY HE LIVES A STRICT AND MORAL LIFE AND IS VERY SAINTLY,  WOULD YOU CONSIDER HIM HOLY?  THE DICTIONARY DEFINES "SAINT" AS "An extremely virtuous...
