"GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 17:18 "As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world."

We are not from the world. Through the new birth, we come from God and should constantly remind ourselves of this. It is not good to be too "at home" in the world. We are in the world but are not of the world. Great men and women of God have always had this attitude.

The primary reason that God chooses to use those who are nothing by the world's standards, is so no one else can take credit for the great things that are accomplished.

If the Lord used those who had it "all together" in the natural, then they would share the glory that rightfully belongs to God alone. But when the Lord works miraculously through someone who obviously has no talent or ability, then everyone says, "This must be God."

Not only does this keep others from misdirecting the glory that belongs to...

                                                 AN ANNIVERSARY TO CELEBRATE

FOR ME, TODAY IS A GREAT DAY FOR CELEBRATING.  IT IS THE ANNIVERSARY OF WHEN I WAS BORN AGAIN IN 1953.  A WHILE BACK, AS I WAS THINKING ABOUT ANNIVERSARIES, I HAD A DISTURBING REALIZATION.  SINCE AN ANNIVERSARY IS "The annually recurring date of a past event, especially one of historical, national, or personal importance", I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY TO REMEMBER AS MANY OF MINE AS I COULD.  MY BIRTHDAY WAS A GOOD STARTING PLACE, MY WEDDING DATES, I HAVE MORE THAN ONE, (I COULD ONLY REMEMBER TWO) AND WHEN MY PARENTS DIED.  ALL THOSE WERE OF ''PERSONAL...

"HIS WILL IS IN THE WORD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"HIS WILL IS IN THE WORD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

In this prayer, Jesus prayed twice that the Father would keep His disciples from evil. Then He reveals the way that God will accomplish this - through His Word, the holy scriptures. Anyone who desires to live for God, reject the devil, and reject the world's system, must know God's Word.

We must study the scriptures, for they reveal the will of God for our actions and attitudes. To be filled with the knowledge of God's will, we must be filled with God's Word. God's Word is His will! Those who are ignorant of God's Word will be ignorant of God's will.

Knowledge of God's will is foundational in developing Christian conduct and character. There is no way we can fulfill God's will if we don't know what it is. The starting point for any Christian is understanding God's will for his life. How can a person obtain...

"HOW TO EXPERIENCE ETERNAL LIFE TODAY" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

In order to fully understand what eternal life is, it is helpful to understand what it is not. Eternal life is not living forever. Everyone lives forever in either heaven or hell. Also, eternal life is not living forever in the blessings of heaven as opposed to being tormented in hell.

John 3:36 and 5:24 show that eternal life is a present tense possession of the believer.

Here, Jesus defines eternal life as knowing God the Father and Jesus Christ.

As we have already discussed, the word "know" is speaking of intimacy instead of mere intellectual knowledge. Therefore, eternal life is having an intimate, personal relationship with God the Father and Jesus the Son.

According to John 3:16, this intimacy with God is what salvation is all...

"HALLOWEEN" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                                               HALLOWEEN

DO YOU CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN?  I WAS NEVER COMFORTABLE WITH CELEBRATING IT BECAUSE EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS ABOUT GHOSTS, WITCHES, VAMPIRES, WIZARDS, ETC.  DRESSING ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN UP IN SOMETHING THAT REPRESENTS SOMETHING THAT THE BIBLE SPEAKS UNKINDLY TOWARD REALLY BOTHERED ME.  WE USED TO HAVE "PRAISE THE LORD" PARTIES ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT WHERE WE WOULD SOMETIMES BUILD A BONFIRE AND THE PARENTS WOULD BRING COVERED DISHES.  WE WOULD PLAY GAMES WITH THE CHILDREN BUT NO COSTUMES.  WE WOULD SING PRAISE SONGS AND JUST HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME.  THIS IS JUST AN IDEA IF SOMEONE WAS LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE TRADITIONAL HALLOWEEN PARTY. ALL THE KIDS WOULD GO HOME WITH A BAG OF CANDY AND WE KNEW OUR CANDY WAS SAFE.  WITH THE NUTS OUT THERE THESE DAYS, WHY TAKE A CHANGE ON THE LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN.

BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING

HAVE YOU EVER REALLY STUDIED AND THOUGHT ABOUT THE VERSE PHILIPPIANS 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."  THIS IS A GREAT PROMISE BUT I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY.  PAUL WAS TALKING TO HIS PHILIPPIAN PARTNERS WHEN HE SAID THIS AND I DON'T BELIEVE IT APPLIES TO EVERYONE.  I DO BELIEVE GOD WANTS TO SUPPLY THE NEEDS OF ALL HIS CHILDREN BUT IT WANT WORK WITHOUT US BELIEVING.  NOT ALL OF HIS CHILDREN GIVE TH

"REJOICE IN THE LORD - ALWAYS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

The world experiences joy and happiness in direct proportion to their circumstances. Bad circumstances produce depression and sorrow, while good circumstances produce joy and peace. That's bondage, and does not have to be the case for a Christian. Our joy is not dependent on things, but rather on the person of Jesus Christ. He is our peace and joy.

The way we take advantage of this joy and peace in the midst of tribulation, is to have our minds and hearts stayed on things above and not on things of this earth. The invisible things of God are eternal while the visible problems on earth are only temporary. All the problems of this life grow very dim when we compare them to the glory of God that is ours through...

"OVERCOME TRIBULATION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"OVERCOME TRIBULATION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Jesus said we would have tribulation. He did not say that He was the one bringing the tribulation or what the tribulation would be, but He said it would come. Then He made the amazing statement that in the midst of tribulation we were to be of good cheer.

Tribulations exist because there is a battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil. When we operate in faith, God is able to grant us such victory that we are actually better off because of the battle. It's just like when a army goes to war. If they win, they gain spoils. But if they embrace their enemy because of the spoils they were expecting to receive, they will be killed instead of blessed. First, you have to fight and win the war and...

"KNOWING JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                                       KNOWING JESUS

WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?  TO MOST OF US CHRISTIANS, I CAN'T SPEAK FOR ALL, HE IS GOD, THE SON OF GOD AND OUR SAVIOR WHO DIED FOR US.  HE IS ALL OF THIS AND MUCH, MUCH MORE.  WHAT DOES JESUS SAY ABOUT HIMSELF?

IN JOHN 8:23, JESUS SAYS "I am from above."..... HE SAYS IN JOHN 8:58 "Before Abraham was, I am."..... IN JOHN 10:33 HE SAYS "I and my Father are one."..... IN JOHN 14:9 HE SAYS "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father."..... IN JOHN 6:33 HE SAYS "The bread of God is he which...

"DON'T MISJUDGE ANYONE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

                                                   DON'T MISJUDGE ANYONE

WHEN YOU ARE IN CHURCH LISTENING TO THE PREACHER OR TEACHER, OR A MINISTER ON RADIO OR TELEVISION, ARE YOU REALLY LISTENING TO LEARN ABOUT GOD'S WORD OR ARE YOU TRYING TO FIND FAULT IN WHAT THEY ARE SAYING?  I KNOW PEOPLE WHO DO THIS.  I KNOW WE ARE SUPPOSED TO SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES TO MAKE SURE WHAT WE ARE BEING TAUGHT LINES UP WITH THE WORD, BUT TO TRY TO...
