I was contacted this evening by Isaac Innocent Ouma
He works with "Message of Hope Ministries", Uganda.

Isaac contacted me personally. You see, he has a Facebook page that is dedicated to trying to get through to people here, and get them to help support these orphans in Uganda, these orphans that he dedicates his life to supporting. I asked him about what it is that he does there. He told me:

"I am always there at least 3 days in week, there also two ladies helping as care givers and 6 teachers help to teach."

So I wondered, What does he do the other 4 days a week?

"I have some type of work like farming & digging to help me get food to feed this orphans and pay the works. I love to stay with them but I have to find ways of feeding and education is still problem to this orphans."

Sounds like a struggling parent.
This man spends three days a week with these children and then goes out to work, like a father, to raise money to support their needs. This is his life. In his free time he tries to convince other people to help also.

He started telling me about the children and their needs. "we have 35 orphans whom we feed and 65 orphans comes for study and go to stay with old Mum in Villages." from there he was outlining the specific monetary amount it takes to feed, educate and clothes these children.

I told Isaac I wish I could be there with him. I imagined his life of labor for these children. His daily worry and his constant reaching out for support and the hope he has in his heart. I saw his persistence to do whatever he can to support those around him in need and these children he loves as his own. I thought about the meetings this small group of people must have on a regular basis, talking about what they have, what they need and trying to figure out what each of them can do to bring in more with whatever resources they have. I told him that I would try to help.

One of the things that they have been doing constantly is trying to reach us here in the U.S. Get into our homes through our computers, on our Facebook and into our blogs, telling us their situation and their needs and calling out for help in between our toothpaste ads, so that maybe we will take notice and share even a tiny bit of our abundance, while they serve manual labor to keep thee children healthy and improve their quality of life.

I think it is important for us to realize that Isaac works sweating in the fields and thinks all day about these children and the hows, and if onlys, and how good it will be to see his kids again. I think if he is working in the fields, then they are barely getting the support they need. They are looking to us in hope and getting drowned out by our consumerism autopilot.

On their site there is a confounding list of account information that us button pushers know nothing of what to do with.
They watch that account hoping each day someone will take the initiative and care enough to contact their bank and make a transfer. That is where I decided to set up a donation account for them online and create a button for people to push.

My goal is to raise 100,000 for them by next January. Our goal, I should say.
