"OUR ALL POWERFUL GOD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-08-19

IS GOD OMNIPOTENT?  WE KNOW HE IS, BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS WHY DOES HE ALLOW ALL THE BAD THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING IN THIS WORLD.  WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT GOD GAVE DOMINION OVER THE EARTH TO ADAM AND HE HAD A FREE WILL TO DO WITH IT WHAT HE WANTED TO AND WHEN HE DISOBEYED GOD, SINNED ENTERED INTO THE WORLD, BOTH IN HUMANITY AS WELL AS THE EARTH. THAT IS WHAT IT SAYS IN ROMANS 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

THE HURRICANES, TORNADOES AND ALL THE OTHER BAD WEATHER IS NOT DUE TO GOD BUT HAPPENS BECAUSE THIS IS A SINFUL WORLD.  GOD GAVE US THE POWER TO CONTROL ALL THOSE THINGS SO IT IS UP TO US TO STOP THE DAMAGE THEY CAUSE.  HE CALMED THE WEATHER AND HE SAID GREATER THINGS WE WOULD DO. IF GOD EVER GOES AGAINST HIS OWN WORD, ALL OF CREATION WOULD COME APART.  THAT IS ACTUALLY WHAT IT SAYS IN HEBREWS 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

MOST PEOPLE THINK THAT GOD'S WILL ALWAYS COMES TRUE BUT IT DOESN'T. LOOK WHAT IT SAYS IN 2ND PETER 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ALTHOUGH IT IS HIS WILL THAT NONE SHOULD PERISH, WE KNOW THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DO.

WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE A POWERFUL BUT LOVING GOD AND SHOULDN'T BE BLAMING ALL THE BAD THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING ON HIM.  IF WE ARE GOING TO BLAME SOMEONE IT SHOULD BE US.  WE ARE NOT DOING OUR JOBS.  LET'S START TRUSTING HIM AND USE OUR FAITH TO BELIEVE WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE AND START ACTING ON IT.  ARE YOU UP FOR THE TASK?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"ONE FLESH" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

One Flesh

Matthew 19:5 'And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?'

MATTHEW 19:3-5

What does it mean for a man and a woman to become 'one flesh?' The act of sexual intercourse between a man and a woman produces this one flesh relationship. Whether or not the man and woman ever cleave to each other in marriage; the physical act still binds them together as one flesh.

This is the reason that sexual relationships outside of marriage (whether extra-marital or pre-marital) are so damaging. Whether or not individuals get caught, pregnant or ever hurt anyone else with their sin, they are doing a lot of damage to themselves. There is a relationship that takes place through the sexual act that makes us one with that person. There is no such thing as just a 'night on the town' or a 'one night stand' and that's all there is to it. Alcoholism, child abuse, hatred, and a thousand other things that are certainly wrong, are not grounds for divorce but fornication is. That shows that there is something very powerful that takes place in the physical act and explains why Satan has exploited this area so much.

Becoming one flesh with someone (sexual intercourse) is not marriage. Marriage includes, but is even beyond, becoming one flesh. This can be seen very clearly in John 4:17-18. Jesus said the woman He was speaking to at Jacob's well had five prior husbands and the man she was currently living with was not her husband. It is certain that this woman was having sexual relations with the man she was living with but that didn't make him her husband. Marriage involves more than sexual relations. It is a covenant or commitment between a man and a woman that corresponds to the cleaving to each other that Jesus spoke of here.

"DON'T PUT GOD IN A BOX" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-08-18
I NEVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT JESUS AND PATIENCE TOGETHER.  IT IS NOT THAT I THOUGHT HE HAD NO PATIENCE BECAUSE WHEN YOU THINK OF WHAT HE PUT UP WITH ON A DAILY BASIS WITH HIS DISCIPLES, YOU KNOW HE HAD TO HAVE PATIENCE.  IT GOES A LOT FARTHER THAN JUST HIS DISCIPLES.  I AM TALKING ABOUT THE CROSS.  LOOK WHAT THE NOAH'S 1828 DICTIONARY SAYS ABOUT PATIENCE.  PATIENCE---The suffering of afflictions, pain, toil, calamity, provocation or other evil, with a calm, unruffled temper; endurance without murmuring or fretfulness.  HE SUFFERED ALL OF THIS AND THEN HE ASK GOD TO FORGIVE THOSE PEOPLE WHO WERE DOING THAT TO HIM.

I NEVER KNEW HOW CLOSE HOPE AND PATIENCE GO TOGETHER UNTIL I READ ROMANS 5:2-5 WHICH SAYS "By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."  WE MUST EXERCISE OUR PATIENCE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO PRAYER.  WE GET UPSET IF WE DON'T SEE THE ANSWER IN THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES.  DON'T PUT GOD IN A BOX.  HE SEES THE WHOLE PICTURE AND HE LOVES US AND KNOWS WHEN WE NEED THINGS.  AND, HE KNOWS THAT SOMETIMES WE DON'T NEED THEM AND IT WOULD BE HARMFUL IF WE HAD THEM.  TRUST IN HIM, HE KNOWS BEST.

ONE OTHER THING ABOUT PUTTING GOD IN A BOX.  WATCH HOW YOU PRAY.  IT IS OK TO PRAY TO GET A JOB OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND IT IS OK TO SAY "IF IT BE YOUR WILL".  BUT IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT TWO JOBS, DON'T ASK HIM WHICH YOU SHOULD TAKE.  HE MIGHT NOT WANT YOU TO HAVE EITHER ONE.  IT IS LIKE WHEN PETER WALKED ON THE WATER.  HE SAID IN MATTHEW 14:28-29 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.  And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.  THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THAT PETER DIDN'T GIVE JESUS  A CHANCE TO SAY ANYTHING ELSE BUT COME.  HE COULDN'T SAY IT WAS NOT HIM.  I HOPE YOU ALL SEE WHAT I MEAN.  JUST DON'T PUT HIM IN A BOX.  LET HIM MAKE THE DECISIONS FOR YOU.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"DIVORCE IS NOT GOD'S BEST" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Divorce Is Not God's Best

Mark 10:2 'And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.'

MARK 10:2-6

The Pharisees didn't really want to know what Jesus taught on divorce and remarriage. They didn't value His opinion but were tempting Him and desired to get Him mired in the big dispute of their day between liberal and conservative views on divorce. This was a very emotional issue then, just as it is today, and they thought they had Jesus in a 'no win' situation.

However, as always, Jesus proved to be more than their match and He gave them much more than they asked for.

The Pharisees didn't question whether or not divorce was right. They took the right to divorce for granted. But Jesus, instead of expounding on acceptable grounds for divorce, went to the very root of the problem and showed that God never intended there to be any divorce at all. If they really understood the extent of the one flesh covenant between a man and his wife, they would not be looking for an excuse to get out of marriage. This approach amazed the Pharisees and brough forth the question 'why did Moses in the law make provision for divorce?'

Once a person begins to question, 'How can I get a divorce?' instead of, 'How can I keep this marriage together?' indicates, that there is already a serious breach in the marriage, that Jesus calls a hardened heart.

Jesus answered that divorce was permitted but never intended. God allowed something that He hated because of the hardness of people's hearts. This was also true of polygamy and slavery. Jesus came to remove our stony heart and give us a heart of flesh so that we could walk in God's best for us.

"GETTING TO SEE JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-08-17

HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT HEAVEN IS LIKE?  WHEN YOU THINK OF A MANSION, WHAT COMES TO MIND?  I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL PICTURES OF MANSIONS AND SOME WERE UNBELIEVABLE.  THERE ARE MANY MANSIONS IN HEAVEN AND ONE IS MINE AND IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN, ONE IS YOURS.  JUST THINK, IN HEAVEN WE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BAD NEIGHBORS.  SEE WHAT JESUS SAYS IN JOHN 14:2-3 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."  CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT A MANSION PREPARED BY JESUS IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE?  THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN EVEN IMAGINE SOMETHING LIKE THIS. 1ST CORINTHIANS 2:9 TELL US THIS VERY PLAINLY, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

ALTHOUGH WHAT I HAVE JUST MENTION IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION, THERE IS SOMETHING MUCH GREAT THAN THIS.  WE ARE GOING TO SEE JESUS.  THAT IS A SITE I AM LONGING FOR.  I WILL STAY HERE ON THIS EARTH FOR AS LONG AS HE HAS SOMETHING FOR ME TO DO BUT WHEN HE IS READY FOR ME TO COME HOME, I AM READY.

SOMETHING ELSE IS ALSO BEYOND OUR THINKING....ETERNITY.  THE LINE IN "AMAZING GRACE" THAT SAYS "WHEN WE'VE BEEN THERE TEN THOUSAND YEARS BRIGHT SHINING AS THE SUN, WE'VE NO LESS DAYS TO SING GOD'S PRAISE THAN WHEN WE'D FIRST BEGUN."  TEN THOUSAND YEARS OR TEN TRILLION YEARS WILL BE AS ONE DAY.  WHAT WILL WE DO ALL THIS TIME?  IT IS GOING TO BE GLORIOUS, WHAT EVER IT IS.  IT IS HARD TO WRAP MY PEANUT BRAIN AROUND SOMETHING LIKE THAT.  I AM JUST GLAD I WILL BE ABLE TO EXPERIENCE IT.  CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT THE FOOD WILL TASTE LIKE AND WE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING FAT.  THAT RIGHT THERE IS HEAVENLY.

SERIOUSLY FRIENDS, WE JUST ALL NEED TO BE READY.  IF THOSE TWO VERSES I JUST QUOTED DON'T GET YOU EXCITED THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.  JUST GETTING TO SEE JESUS IS ENOUGH AND LOOK WHAT ELSE WE GET.  THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A GIFT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-08-17

Righteousness Is A Gift

Luke 18:9 'And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:'

LUKE 18:9-14

People who are self-righteous often despise others. No one can compare himself with God's perfect standard and feel good about himself. To trust in ourselves, we have to constantly compare ourselves with others. This breeds a critical attitude towards others that exalts self by debasing others.

No one can ever be righteous in the sight of God through his own righteousness. Our actions benefit us in relationships with people and prevent Satan from having an opportunity against us, but they cannot make us right (righteous) with God. We must trust in God and receive His gift of righteousness completely on the basis of faith in what Christ did for us. This is the truth that this parable is presenting.

Most people are unaware that there are two kinds of righteousness. Only one type of righteousness is acceptable to God. One form of righteousness is our own righteousness. These are the acts of holiness that we do in an attempt to fulfill the commands of the Old Testament law. This is an imperfect righteousness because human nature is imperfect and incapable of fulfilling the law.

God's righteousness is not something that we do, but something that we receive as a gift through faith in Christ. It's not possible to trust in our own righteousness and in God's righteousness. A person who believes that he must earn God's acceptance by his holy actions must not believe in God's righteousness, which is a gift. It has to be one or the other; we cannot mix the two. Righteousness is not what Jesus has done for us plus some minimum standard of holiness that we have to accomplish. God's righteousness is perfect. Accept this gift He offers to you.

PEOPLE HAVE ASKED ME HOW I CAN SAY THAT GOD LOVES THE SINNER?  WELL, BECAUSE HE DOES.  HE SAVED US ALL WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS.  ALSO, IF HE DIDN'T, WHY WOULD HE  SEND   HIS SON JESUS TO HANG ON A CROSS AND DIE FOR US.  HE DID THIS BEFORE WE WERE EVEN BORN   AND JESUS DID THIS WILLINGLY.  HE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD AND EVEN  ASKED GOD THREE TIMES TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM HIM BUT SAID HE WANTED TO DO HIS FATHER'S WILL AND HE WENT AHEAD WITH IT.  THAT IS NOTHING BUT PURE LOVE FOR US, ON THE PART OF GOD, JESUS AND HOLY SPIRIT.  IT HAD TO HURT THEM ALL THREE, OUR ONE GOD.

GOD JUST HATES THE SIN, NOT THE SINNER.  WE ALL ARE SINNERS BUT WE WHO ARE BORN AGAIN HAVE NO SINS COUNTING AGAINST US ANY MORE.  GOD EVEN SAID THAT HE WOULD REMEMBER THEM NO MORE.  WE ALL WILL STILL SIN BUT ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS ASK FORGIVENESS AND THE FORGIVENESS THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED TO US WILL COVER THE SIN.  I FIND THAT WHEN I AM STUDYING THE BIBLE, OR JUST READING IT EVERY DAY, I SIN LESS.  SIN STARTS IN THE MIND AND WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR MIND SET ON JESUS, YOU ARE NOT LETTING YOUR MIND WONDER INTO PLACES IT SHOULDN'T.  THAT IS ALSO DANGEROUS.  LOOK WHAT IS SAYS IN ROMANS 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."   JUST REMEMBER, YOU CAN'T BE TEMPTED BY SOMETHING YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"GOD ANSWERS PRAYER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-08-16

God Answers Prayer

Luke 18:7 'And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? '

LUKE 18:1-8

This is not an exact comparison of God to this unjust judge, teaching us that we should badger God until we weary Him and He grants us our request.

Rather, Jesus is contrasting His willingness to answer our prayers with this unjust judge's unwillingness. The parable is a contrast, not a representation.

Not only do we have God who is a just judge who will avenge His elect speedily, but we also have Jesus as our advocate or attorney who is always making intercession for us. However, we have an adversary (the devil) who is constantly accusing us and misrepresenting God (the judge). This causes men to give up (faint) and not even plead their case with God because they doubt that He will answer them anyway.

Jesus is saying that our Father is not an unjust judge that we have to pressure into doing what is right. Many times we put more faith in people and their willingness to do what is right than we do in God. Satan has deceived us about the willingness of God to answer our prayers and Jesus is countering that deception with this parable. Jesus is encouraging us to pray (petition God) and not doubt His willingness to grant our requests. To teach that we must pester God until He gives in to our pressure is not good theology.

This widow's actions were commendable. She knew what was rightfully hers and she refused to take 'no' for an answer. If we can be that confident and determined when dealing with unjust men, how much more should we persist, despite the devil's delays, when dealing with our faithful Father. You can trust Him to always come through for you.
