ONE OF MY GRANDSON TOLD ME THAT HE WAS BEING PAID "UNDER THE TABLE" THEREFORE HE WAS NOT GOING TO PAY INCOME TAX ON THAT MONEY.  I ASK HIM IF HE KNEW THAT WAS A SIN BECAUSE HE WOULD BE LYING WHEN THEY ASKED HIM HOW MUCH DID HE EARN.  I KNOW MANY PEOPLE DO CHEAT ON THEIR TAXES, IN MANY WAYS, AND I WILL HAVE TO ADMIT I HAVE DONE IT ALSO.  I HAVE EVEN TRIED TO JUSTIFY IT BY SAYING THAT I WAS TAXED TOO MUCH OR THAT I HAD PAID ENOUGH DURING THE YEAR TO TAKE CARE OF MY SHARE.  THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN TRUE BUT THE PROBLEM I HAD WAS LYING ON SOME OF THE QUESTIONS AND AMOUNTS.  WE CONSIDER LYING AS A "LITTLE" SIN BUT IT IS RIGHT UP THERE WITH WHAT WE CALL "MAJOR" SINS LIKE MURDER, BUT SIN IS SIN.  LOOK WHAT REVELATION 21:8 SAYS ABOUT LYING. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

DID YOU KNOW THAT JESUS PAID TAXES?  WE ALL KNOW HE PAID HIS FAIR SHARE BUT LOOK WHAT THE JEWS TRIED TO DO.  THEY COULDN'T TRIP HIM UP ON RELIGIOUS THINGS SO THEY DECIDED TO TRY TO TRIP HIM UP ON PAYING TAXES.  IF THEY COULD, THEY COULD HAVE DELIVERED HIM TO PILATE.  LET'S LOOK AT WHAT JESUS SAYS TO PETER IN MATTHEW 17:24-27 AFTER PETER WAS ASKED BY THOSE WHO RECEIVED TAXES IF JESUS PAID TAXES.

"And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee."

DID YOU SEE THAT MIRACLE?   LET'S LOOK CLOSELY AT IT.  THERE WAS ONLY ONE PIECE OF MONEY THAT WAS ACCEPTED TO PAY THE IMPERIAL TAX AND THAT WAS THE DENARIUS.  IT WAS A SMALL SILVER COIN ON WHICH WAS THE IMAGE OF TIBERIUS CAESAR AND READ "TIBERIUS CAESAR AUGUSTUS, SON OF THE DIVINE AUGUSTUS".  ON THE BACK SIDE IT READ "CHIEF PRIEST" WHICH WAS A CLAIM TO DIVINITY AND, AS EMPEROR, THE RIGHT TO BE WORSHIPED.  THIS WAS WHAT WAS IN THE FISHES MOUTH, EXACTLY WHAT JESUS NEEDED.

WHEN THE JEWS ASK JESUS IF IT WAS LAWFUL FOR HIM TO GIVE TRIBUTE TO CAESAR, LOOK WHAT JESUS SAID.  "WHOSE IS THIS IMAGE AND SUPERSCRIPTION?"  THEY TOLD HIM CAESAR'S.  JESUS SAID "RENDER THEREFORE UNTO CAESAR THE THINGS WHICH ARE CAESAR'S; AND UNTO GOD THE THINGS THAT ARE GOD'S".  THEY COULDN'T TRIP HIM UP.

DON'T LET SATAN TRIP YOU UP.  DON'T CHEAT ON YOUR TAX RETURN.  JUST THINK ABOUT THIS STORY OF JESUS AND IF YOU NEED MONEY TO PAY YOUR TAXES, ASK HIM FOR A MIRACLE.  I DON'T THINK YOU WILL GET THE MONEY OUT OF THE MOUTH OF A FISH BUT JESUS CAN SHOW YOU THINGS THAT CAN DECREASE YOUR TAXES.  JUST ASK HIM AND TRUST HIM TO HELP YOU.  JUST DON'T COMPROMISE.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"ABOUT THOSE PHARISEES" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-06-23

About Those Pharisees

June 23rd

John 9:34 'They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.'

JOHN 9:34

Much of the Pharisees' problem was spiritual pride, as is very evident by this statement. They were so blinded by their arrogance that they couldn't believe anyone who hadn't been through their 'seminary' could teach them anything.

The name 'Pharisees' comes from a Hebrew word meaning 'separate.' This term was applied to this sect because of its extreme devotion to the Mosaic law and commitment to leading a separated life. This was a reaction of the devout Jews who came back to Jerusalem from the Babylonian captivity, and saw the pagan customs and influences of the Babylonians everywhere. Not only their religion but their identity as a nation was being threatened. The Pharisees were patriots as well as religious zealots, who in the beginning served a very needed function in the Jewish nation which was struggling for survival. However, over the centuries the Pharisees had departed from the Mosaic law and had written their own interpretations of the law - interpretations which they held to be God-inspired and equal to that of Moses. In Jesus' day this group was characterized by hypocrisy and self-righteousness. They, as a whole, persecuted Jesus and His followers and received the Lord's most stinging rebukes.

The Pharisees, like many people today, were ignorant of achieving right standing (righteousness) with God through the simple act of receiving His forgiveness by faith and were trying to earn salvation by their own acts. No one can fulfill God's commands (Rom. 3:23) except Jesus (Heb. 4:15). Therefore, to be righteous, we must put our faith in what He has done for us.

"WE ARE THE WORD" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-06-22
WHAT IS "THE WORD?  WELL, THE BIBLE SAYS IT IS JESUS.  JOHN 1:14 TELLS US THAT "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."  THE REASON I SAY THAT "WE SHOULD BE" IS BECAUSE OF WHAT IT SAYS IN 1ST JOHN 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.  AS JESUS IS, SO ARE WE.  SO, IF HE IS "THE WORD" WE SHOULD BE ALSO.

THE BIBLE ALSO SAYS IT IS A "SEED".  LUKE 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.  WE SHOULD BE PLANTING GOD'S SEED WHEREVER WE GO.  YOU MIGHT THINK YOU HAVE TO BE A MINISTER OR EVANGELIST OR TEACHER TO DO THIS.  WELL, WE ALL SHOULD BE ALL OF THESE.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A BIG CONGREGATION OR FOLLOWING TO DO THIS.  JUST TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR ABOUT JESUS.  TALK ABOUT JESUS WHILE YOU ARE SHOPPING OR OUT TO LUNCH OR DINNER.  WE ALL CAN PLANT A SEED IN MANY WAYS.

IN EPHESIANS 6 IT TALKS ABOUT A "SWORD" BEING "THE WORD". IT SAYS "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God".  IT IS NOT JUST ALRIGHT TO SAY THAT THE WORD IS A SWORD, USE IT. HEBREWS 4:12 SAYS "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." THAT IS A LOT OF POWER BUT IF YOU DON'T USE IT, WHAT GOOD IS IT?

IT IS ABOUT TIME WE ALL REALIZE WHO WE ARE IN JESUS AND DO WHAT HE HAS TOLD US TO DO.  IF YOU THINK GOD CAN'T USE YOU, JUST REMEMBER HE USES THE UNUSABLE.  JUST THINK OF SOME OF THE MEN GOD USED.  JUST A FEW OF THE BIG ONES.....MOSES STUTTERED, DAVID HAD AN AFFAIR AND EVEN MURDERED, AND JONAH RAN FROM GOD.  AND LETS' DON'T FORGET PETER, HE DENIED JESUS.  SO, DON'T TELL GOD THAT YOU ARE UNUSABLE, ASK HIM TO MAKE YOU USABLE AND THEN GO OUT AND DO WHAT HE SAYS.

AS YOU KNOW, THE WORD OF GOD IS ALSO THE BIBLE.  WATCH WHATEVER YOU DO BECAUSE YOU MIGHT BE THE ONLY BIBLE SOMEONE WILL EVER READ. THERE ARE PEOPLE YOU, AND YOU ALONE, CAN REACH FOR JESUS. TALK TO THEM.  DON'T LET THEM DIE WITHOUT HIM.  IT IS UP TO ALL OF US.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"IT'S WHO YOU KNOW" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-06-22

It's Who You Know

June 22nd

John 9:30 'The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.'

JOHN 9:28-30

The 'acid test' of whether or not someone is of God is by his actions. Jesus' actions were so miraculous and overwhelmingly consistent with God's Word that any reservations about whether or not He was of God should have been set aside. But, as in Mark 7:13, they had exalted their own traditions above God's Word, thereby making the Word of God of no effect in their own lives. Just as in this instance nearly two thousand years ago, theologians today are sometimes the last to accept a move of God if it violates their traditional beliefs. 'The common people heard him gladly' (Mk. 12:37). 'Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth' (1 Cor. 8:1).

In spiritual matters, a person can educate himself in theology to the degree that it does more harm than good. It is possible to win a theological battle and yet lose the war for a person's heart. Arguments over points of theology often distract from the more important issues. There is no premium on ignorance, but love is infinitely superior to knowledge. We should learn all we can, but we must make our knowledge a servant to love. 'The greatest of these is love' (1 Cor. 13:13).

If anyone's quest for knowledge leads them away from knowing God, then it would have been preferable for them to stay ignorant. What we know is not as important as who we know (speaking of the Lord). Our most important goal in life must be to love God and be known of Him.

"JESUS WANTS US TO PROSPER" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-06-21

IN LUKE 9:56 IT TALKS ABOUT JESUS NOT HAVING A PLACE TO LAY HIS HEAD.  (And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.)  I HAVE HEARD PEOPLE SAY THAT JESUS AND THE DISCIPLES WERE POOR AND THEY TAKE IT FROM THIS PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURE THAT WE SHOULD BE POOR TOO. DID YOU THINK THIS MEANT THAT JESUS AND HIS DISCIPLES LIVED IN POVERTY?  THIS VERSE IS TALKING ABOUT WHEN HE WAS GOING TO JERUSALEM AND PASSING THROUGH SAMARIA, THE SAMARITANS, BECAUSE OF A RELIGIOUS PREJUDICE, REFUSED HIM HOSPITALITY AND WOULD NOT GIVE HIM A PLACE TO STAY THE NIGHT.  I THINK HE WAS TRYING TO GET HIS DISCIPLES TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WOULD BE PERSECUTION IF THEY FOLLOWED HIM.

JESUS AND THE DISCIPLES HAD PLENTY OF MONEY AND EVEN GAVE MUCH TO THE POOR. THEY EVEN HAD A BANKER, JUDAS, AS THE BIBLE STATES THAT HE WAS THE KEEPER OF THE BAG.  JOHN 12:4-6 ALSO SAYS THAT JUDAS WAS A THIEF, "Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what wasput therein."  JUDAS WAS TALKING ABOUT WHEN MARY WAS ANOINTING THE FEET OF JESUS.

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT JESUS ACTUALLY HAD A PLACE TO LIVE. IN JOHN 1:34-40 IT SAYS " And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.  Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.  Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What  seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted,  Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt,  and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew,  Simon Peter's brother."  WHEN ANDREW LEFT JESUS PLACE HE WENT DIRECTLY TO PETER AND TOLD HIM THAT HE HAD FOUND THE MESSIAH.  THIS WAS IN THE BEGINNING OF JESUS' MINISTRY.

HE LATER BECAME POOR FOR OUR SAKES.  IN 2ND CORINTHIANS 8:9 IT TELLS US THIS.  "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."  SO, IF YOU ARE NOT PROSPERING IT IS YOUR OWN FAULT BECAUSE IT SAYS JESUS BECAME POOR SO WE COULD BE RICH.  HE DOES NOT WANT US POOR BUT JUST REMEMBER WHAT HE DID WITH HIS WEALTH WHEN HE HAD IT.  PRAY THAT YOU CAN BE A VESSEL HE CAN USE, THEN THE WEALTH YOU WILL HAVE WILL BE THE BLESSINGS OF HELPING OTHERS.  I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS VERSE.... MATTHEW 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"LOVE CONQUERS FEAR" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Love Conquers Fear

June 21st

John 9:27 'He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?'

JOHN 9:6-27

This man showed great courage in confronting these religious leaders. Even Peter later backed down for fear of this same group of men (Lk. 22:54-62). Certainly one thing that gave him this boldness was that he knew what Jesus had done for him. And even beyond the physical healing, he knew that Jesus had healed him because He loved him. It's our security in the Lord's love for us that gives us the strength to face rejection from others. As Proverbs 28:1 puts it, 'the righteous are bold as a lion.' The antidote for fear of men is a large dose of the love of God.

One of the greatest truths of the Bible and one of the hardest to comprehend, is that we are the objects of God's love. God didn't just pity us or feel some sense of moral obligation to save us. He saved us because of His infinite love for us (Jn. 3:16). An experiential understanding of God's love is the key to being filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:19).

Paul prays in Ephesians 3:19, that we would experience the love of God which passes mere knowledge about it. How can we know the love of God if it passes knowledge? This sounds like a contradiction. It's not. The knowing is experiencing it. The end result of having understanding and experiential knowledge of God's love is that we will be filled with all the fullness of God. God's love is the key that opens the door to everything that God is. God is love (1 Jn. 4:8).

It's not just a casual acquaintance with God's love that we need, but an intimate understanding and experiential knowledge of the depths of God's love. Just as a tree's roots provide stability and nourishment for the tree, so our revelation of God's love is the foundation upon which everything else we receive from God is built.

I WROTE ON THIS SOMETIME AGO AND I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS SAYING.  PRAYER IS GOOD AND KEEP PRAYING FOR YOUR KIDS AND OTHERS THAT GOD HAS PUT ON YOUR MIND BUT JUST PRAYING FOR THEM ISN'T GOING TO GET THEM BORN AGAIN.  IT IS UP TO THEM AND THEY HAVE TO MAKE THAT COMMITMENT TO JESUS AND RECEIVE HIM.

YOU JUST MIGHT HAVE TO SIT THEM DOWN AND LEAD THEM TO ACCEPT JESUS.  TELL THEM WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO.  THEY JUST MIGHT NOT KNOW.  IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO LEAD THEM TO JESUS, GET IN YOUR BIBLE AND LEARN AND IF YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE, DO IT.  DO WHAT IT TAKES FOR THEM.  IF JUST PRAYING WAS ALL IT TOOK, NONE OF OUR LOVED ONES WOULD GO TO HELL BUT THEY HAVE TO DO IT THEMSELVES BUT YOU CAN HELP THEM.

WE HAVE TO GET OUT THERE AND TELL PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS.  IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN ANY OTHER WAY.  IT SAYS THAT IN ROMANS 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, WE ALL ARE PREACHERS.  NEED PROOF, JESUS SAID IT IN MARK 16:15 "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."  IF WE WERE NOT PREACHERS WHY WOULD HE TELL US TO GO.  THIS IS AS MUCH FOR US TODAY AS IT WAS FOR HIS DISCIPLES.  JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 9:37-38 "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

DON'T JUST PRAY THAT GOD WILL SEND SOMEONE, GO YOURSELF. IT MIGHT TAKE THAT PERSONAL TOUCH FOR THEM TO LISTEN. NOW IF YOU ARE A LONG WAY OFF, THEN IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR YOU TO ASK GOD TO SEND SOMEONE.  JUST REALIZE THAT THERE COULD BE SOME MOTHER PRAYING THAT GOD WOULD SEND SOMEONE TO TALK TO THEIR CHILD AND YOU JUST MIGHT BE THE ONE.  IF YOU FEEL LEAD TO TALK TO SOMEONE, EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEM, GOD JUST MIGHT HAVE YOU IN MIND.  BE OBEDIENT.

JUST REMEMBER THE HARVEST IS GREAT AND WE ALL SHOULD BE THE LABORERS.  MAKE IT A POINT THIS WEEK TO TELL SOMEONE ABOUT JESUS.  IT IS UP TO US.  JUST PRAYING FOR THEM ISN'T GOING TO GET IT DONE.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

"SICKNESS IS NOT FROM GOD" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2019-06-20

Sickness Is Not From God

June 20th

John 9:2 'And his disciples asked him saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?'

JOHN 9:1-4

The disciples asked a question that still puzzles many people today. Why is a child born with a physical defect? Is it a judgment of God upon the parents for some sin, or is it possibly God's judgment upon the child for sins that God knows he will commit?

Jesus Himself had previously linked sickness with sin. In this instance, however, Jesus said this blindness was not caused by this man's or his parents' sins.

This has led many people to interpret the rest of this verse as saying that God made this man blind just so that He could heal him and be glorified thereby. From this thinking, many doctrinal teachings have risen about how sickness and other problems in our lives are actually blessings from God, intended to bring glory to God and correction to us. This reasoning, however, does not line up with the other truths of God's Word.

It was not God who made this beggar blind. This man was not born blind because of any one person's sins but because sin in general had corrupted the perfect balance that God had created in nature. Therefore, some maladies happen, not as a direct result of an individual's sins but as an indirect result of sin in general.

Deuteronomy 28 settles forever the question of whether sickness, poverty, and oppression are really blessings in disguise. God says that sickness and poverty are curses - not blessings from God. Christ redeemed us from these curses of the law so that now the blessings may come upon us through Him (Galatians 3:13). God's curses have been placed on Jesus and removed from those who accept Jesus' sacrifice. You are blessed!
