THE ARMOUR OF GOD !
IN EPHESIANS 6 IT TALKS ABOUT PUTTING ON THE ARMOUR OF GOD. I BELIEVE THAT IS A PRACTICE ALL PARENTS SHOULD DO EVERY MORNING. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS AND AS I PUT ON EACH PIECE, I VISUALIZE THAT PIECE IN MY MIND AND PUT IN ON EACH CHILD, AND MY WIFE AND MYSELF.
IN THE 10-12 VERSE IT SAYS "10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." THERE IS A LOT OF BAD STUFF OUT THERE AND THE MORE PROTECTION WE HAVE THE STRONGER WE WILL BE IN THE LORD. ISAIAH 40 ALSO TALKS ABOUT BEING STRONG BUT IS SAYS TO RENEW YOUR STRENGTH. "31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
WHEN I READ THAT VERSE I THINK OF THE WORD WAIT WHEN IT SAYS WAIT UPON THE LORD. I HAVE HEARD SOME PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT SITTING AROUND AND WAITING TO SEE WHAT GOD IS GOING TO DO. WELL, WHEN I THINK ABOUT WAITING ON THE LORD I USE THE DEFINITIONS; 1. To attend; to go to see. 2. To pay servile or submissive attendance. 3. To follow. 4. To look watchfully. 5. To attend to; to perform. 6. To be ready to serve; to obey.
I BELIEVE IT MAKES MORE SENSE TO USE THAT DEFINITION AND NOT TO JUST SIT AROUND WAITING. WHEN JOSHUA WAS LEADING THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL AND TOLD THE PRIEST TO TAKE THE ARK AND CROSS THE JORDAN. THE WATER DID NOT PART UNTIL THEY STEPPED INTO THE WATER. I'M NOT SURE THE WATERS WOULD HAVE PARTED IF THEY HAD WAITED TO STEP ON DRY LAND. "JOSHUA 3:13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap." SO LETS GET UP AND DO SOMETHING FOR GOD. LOOK WHAT ALL HE HAS DONE FOR US.
