A GREATER HUMILITY

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-24

Matthew 3:14, "But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?"

MT. 3:13-17; MK. 1:9-11; LK. 3:21-23

John the Baptist was overwhelmed that Jesus was asking to be baptized by him. John had already declared himself unworthy to unloose the latchet of the Christ's shoes, and now the Christ was asking him to administer His baptism (Lk. 3:16).

Likewise, we are often overwhelmed by the idea that the Lord could use us. Who are we to proclaim...

ARE YOU IN GOD'S WILL ?

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-25

HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE?  STRANGE QUESTION?  A LOT OF PEOPLE WOULD SAY IT IS THE WAY THEY HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TAUGHT RIGHT FROM WRONG.

WELL, THAT IS ALL GOOD BUT HOW DOES GOD WANT YOU TO LIVE YOUR LIFE?  NOW THAT IS A DIFFERENT QUESTION.  THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW THIS IS BY READING THE BIBLE.  YES, I AM BACK TO READING THE BIBLE.  WELL, IT IS IMPORTANT....IT IS GOD'S WORD AND IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN EVER KNOW WHAT GOD'S WILL IS FOR OUR LIVES.

I DON'T CARE HOW YOU WERE BROUGHT UP AND HOW GOOD YOU HAVE BEEN ALL YOUR LIFE, IF YOU DON'T KNOW GOD'S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE AND ARE...

KNOWING WHO WE ARE FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-25

KNOWING WHO WE ARE

Matthew 4:3, "And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."

MT. 4:1-11; MK. 1:12-13; LK. 4:1-13

Two of Satan's three temptations began with the words, "If you be the Son of God."

Jesus was God, but he did have a human body that had to grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God (Jn. 1:1; 1 Tim. 3:16; Lk. 2:52). It took faith for the physical mind of Jesus to believe the witness of the Spirit within Him that he was the Messiah. Satan was attacking the...

CAN GOD DO ALL THINGS ?

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-26

ARE YOU HEALED?  ARE YOU PROSPERING?  ARE YOU HAPPY AND NOT DEPRESSED?  IS YOUR LIFE PERFECT?  IT COULD BE AND SHOULD BE.  GOD HAS A PROMISE FOR ALL OF THESE THINGS.  OUR PROBLEM IS THAT WE DON'T BELIEVE HIM.

DO YOU THINK I AM BEING TOO HARD IN SAYING THIS?  GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO HAVE THE THINGS WE NEED AND HE EVEN SAYS HE GIVES US THE DESIRES OF OUR HEARTS.  WOULDN'T YOU GIVE YOUR KIDS THEIR DESIRES IF YOU COULD.  GOD CAN.

THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT DON'T REALLY BELIEVE GOD CAN DO ALL THINGS.  THEN THERE ARE OTHERS THAT...

THE WEAPON OF THE WORD

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-26

DAILY DEVOTIONAL FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES.

THE WEAPON OF THE WORD

Luke 4:4, "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

MT. 4:1-11; MK. 1:12-13; LK. 4:1-13

Jesus answered every temptation with, "It is written." The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17). It is the only offensive spiritual weapon that we have.

Since...

ARE WE "THE WORD"?.....WE SHOULD BE !

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-27

WHAT IS "THE WORD?  WELL, THE BIBLE SAYS IT IS JESUS.  JOHN 1:14 TELLS US THAT "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."  THE REASON I SAY THAT "WE SHOULD BE" IS BECAUSE OF WHAT IT SAYS IN 1 JOHN 4:17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.   AS JESUS IS, SO ARE WE, SO IF HE IS "THE WORD" WE SHOULD BE ALSO.

THE BIBLE ALSO SAYS IT IS A "SEED".  LUKE 8:11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.  WE SHOULD BE PLANTING GOD'S SEED WHEREVER WE GO.  YOU MIGHT THINK YOU HAVE TO BE A MINISTER OR EVANGELIST OR TEACHER TO DO THIS.  WELL, WE ALL SHOULD BE ALL OF THESE.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A BIG...

SATAN'S POWER IS LIMITED

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-27

DAILY DEVOTIONAL FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

Luke 4:13, "And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season."

MT. 4:1-11; MK. 1:12-13; LK. 4:1-13

The wording of this verse implies that Satan exhausted his arsenal of temptations on Jesus and then had to leave.

We have mistakenly given Satan too much credit. He does not have a limitless number of temptations that he can pull on us. As 1 Jn. 2:16 says, there are three areas where the devil tempts us: (1) the lust of the flesh, (2)...

WHAT IS A SHEPHERD ?

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-01-28

FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO SHOW YOU WHAT MY DICTIONARY SAYS ABOUT A SHEPHERD AND I LOVE THIS DICTIONARY BECAUSE IT USUALLY TIES THE WORD IN WITH THE BIBLE.

SHEPHERD

1. A man employed in tending, feeding and gaurding sheep in the pasture.

 2. The pastor of a parish, church or congregation; a minister of the gospel who superintends a church or parish, and gived instruction in spiritual things. God and Christ are in Scripture dinominated Shepherds, as they lead, protect and govern their people, and provide for their wilfare.

NOW LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT A SHEPHERD.  JESUS SAYS THAT HE IS A SHEPHERD, BUT NOT JUST ANY SHEPHERD, HE IS THE GOOD SHEPHERDJOHN 10:11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life...
