FOCUS ON JESUS

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-05

FOCUS ON JESUS

Luke 10:20 - "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

LUKE 10:20

We were never instructed to have a Ph.D. in demonology. However, some justify focusing on Satan and his activity to an inordinate degree. This will actually encourage demonic activity and become a device that Satan can use...

SAVED BY GRACE

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-06

SAVED BY GRACE

Luke 10:28-29 - "And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?"

LUKE 10:28

Just as with this lawyer, pride causes many people to resist the truth of justification by faith in the grace of God. This lawyer loved himself and the public recognition his "holy acts" gave him. He was...

WHO CROSSES YOUR PATH?

WHO CROSSES YOUR PATH?

Luke 10:29 - "But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?"

LUKE 10:29

This question of "who is my neighbour" can be used by Satan to deceive us in more than one way. Not only can he deceive men into thinking they have fulfilled the command to "love thy neighbor as thyself" when they haven't, but he will also try to apply this command in a way that condemns those who are seeking to fulfill it, by...

SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-08

FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM

Luke 10:40 - "But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me."

LUKE 10:40

There are only three instances in Scripture that give us information about Martha. From these accounts, we can see that Martha had a brother named Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead, and a sister named Mary. Martha had misplaced...

PRAYER POWER

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-09

PRAYER POWER

Luke 11:1 - "And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples'."

LUKE 11:1

When you consider that Jesus was the greatest miracle worker who ever walked the earth and the greatest preacher who ever lived, it is amazing that His disciples asked Him to teach them to...

OUR LOVING FATHER

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-10

FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

OUR LOVING FATHER

Luke 11:11 - "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?"

LUKE 11:11

The most loving Father in the world cannot compare to our heavenly Father and the love He has for us. And yet, many times, we find it easier to believe in the willingness of a father or mother or mate to help us than in the willingness of God to use His power on our...

THE POWER OF GOD

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-10

                                                THE POWER OF GOD

DO YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING REALLY EXCEPTIONAL TODAY?  GO TO SOMEONE WHO IS SICK AND HEAL THEM.  IF YOU ARE BORN-AGAIN, YOU HAVE THAT POWER.  YOU AND I KNOW THAT IT IS THROUGH JESUS THAT WE GET THIS POWER BUT IF WE WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE IT, HE WOULD NOT HAVE TOLD US TO.  "MATTHEW 10:Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."  OUR PROBLEM IS NOT THAT WE DON'T THINK JESUS CAN HEAL, WE ARE JUST NOT SURE HE WILL DO IT FOR US.

WHEN YOU DO PRAY FOR SOMEONE, DON'T EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY.  SOMETIMES IT DOES BUT THE BIBLE SAYS IN MARK 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,

BE FILLED

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2012-07-11

FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

BE FILLED

Luke 11:13 - "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

LUKE 11:13

The Holy Spirit is a gift (Acts 2:38). You cannot be good enough to earn the gift of the Holy Spirit, but you do have to ask. This is speaking of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, which is subsequent to the born-again experience.

The Holy...
