The True Nature of God

The True Nature of God

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Romans 8:15

“Abba, Father” speaks of an intimate, loving relationship with God. Today we would say “daddy” or “papa.” Sadly, though, many do not have this kind of relationship with the Lord. They’re so worried about not sinning themselves into hell that they can’t process the idea that God might actually love them unconditionally.

Even those who know they are saved still believe God will give them a disease, keep them poor, or refuse to answer their prayers. They try to put a positive spin on it by saying God is trying to “perfect...

GOD'S NEW CREATION

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2013-09-04

FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

GOD'S NEW CREATION

John 12:23 "And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified."

JOHN 12:20-23

Philip and Andrew had just brought word to Jesus that certain Greeks or Gentiles were seeking Him at the feast. He had ministered to other Gentiles, but this is the first time that the Gentiles came specifically to seek Him instead of what He could do. Apparently,...

GOD'S VOICE

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2013-09-05

GOD'S VOICE

John 12:28 "Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again."

JOHN 12:20-28

This is the third time recorded in the gospels that the Father spoke in an audible voice to or about Jesus (First, at Jesus' baptism in the Jordan River and second, at the transfiguration of Jesus).

This...

JESUS PAID OUR DEBT

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2013-09-06

FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

JESUS PAID OUR DEBT

John 12:31 "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out."

JOHN 12:31

There is still a future judgment of the world coming, where the wicked will be separated from the righteous and cast into the lake of fire. This verse refers to the sins of the world that were about to be placed on Jesus and that He would suffer our punishment.

THE POWER TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2013-09-07

THE POWER TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE

John 12:31 "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out."

JOHN 12:31

The only reason Satan ever had any right to become a prince or rule over us was because we yielded ourselves to him through sin (Rom. 6:16). Since Jesus "bore our sins in His own body on the tree" (1 Pet. 2:24), Satan no longer has power or authority over those who...

CHOOSE TO BELIEVE

CHOOSE TO BELIEVE

John 12:39-40 "Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them."

JOHN 12:37-40

This could be interpreted as the ultimate teaching in predestination. That interpretation would be that these people...

BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED

BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED

Matthew 21:19 "And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away."

MATTHEW 21:18-19

The Greek word for presently means "instantly; immediately; soon." However, the disciples didn't realize that the fig tree had died...

OUR WORDS ARE ALIVE

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2013-09-10

FROM ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES

OUR WORDS ARE ALIVE

Mark 11:14 "And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it."

MARK 11:14

Notice that this verse says that Jesus "answered" this fig tree. The tree had not spoken to Him verbally but it communicated that it had figs by the leaves on it. It is a fact that a fig tree should have figs by the time the leaves are evident. A...
