Maybe its just me, But Im so excited for this upcoming season. The Mets are for real.
If David Abish thinks they have what it takes then we know the world has frozen over…..
Let the games begin! 4 days and counting……
Is it me , or is there something truly special about Baseball opening day. It feels like a national holiday!
The fact that your team is tied for first and you always feel like ‘this is our year’makes those long winters all worth it.
People have a spring in their step, smile on their face and zest for life that can only come from our nations pastime.
I, David Abish , have been to many opening days and The one that always sticks with me was Gary Carters 1st game as a Met when he hit a home run off Neil Allen to end the game!
That was a great time to be a Mets fan….lets hope this all begins again with 2015.
Smile everyone, be happy and sit back because baseball is here…….
LETS GO METS!!!
We are 1 week into the season and so far so good. Obviously everyone feels the the Nationals are the team to beat in the division, so getting a series win on the road was impressive. Those are the positives….now, let’s be honest they were handed a GIFT on opening day but hey that’s why they play the games. They need to hit and their weaknesses are glaring early, Murphy and Flores are not good defensively and they seem to be lacking power (Come on Duda- wake up already!)
The Atlanta series was a disaster, I know they NEVER play well in Atlanta but Neise has got to be a better pitcher, as mentioned in a previous post my patience is wearing thin with him.
The good stuff…..Harvey is back and its great to see. He is starting to make us all feel like Gooden in ’85 where it was MUST SEE TV when he toed the rubber.
deGrom is really a terrific pitcher and fields his position better than anyone which will save him wins down the road.
Colon-what else can we...
Winning…..it cures all! It will bring 40k fans to a stadium, create a buzz among the fan base and heck even have fans calling into the local sports talk shows speaking about World Series! 10-3 and 1st place…not a bad start!
Now, lets all calm down and get back to reality. Yes, what a great run this team is on. Harvey/Degrom strike fear into any opponent and this team should not have too many long losing streaks due to their starting pitching. That is a recipe for success.
What concerns me is the injuries and how they will respond, so far so good. But they have a history of saying an injury will be 2 weeks and it turns into 2-3 months. This team cannot sustain a long absence of David Wright and Travis. I am really looking forward to seeing what Pawlecki will do and think now is the time for him to step up and perhaps they will be inline for a massive trade to get the chips they need for this year come July 31st.
I, ...
Now that things have settled down a bit and the Mets streak has ended (we didnt think they would win 150 games….did we?). They finished up a 2-4 road trip against the Yanks and the Marlins. Im not going to be upset , instead I, David Abish, want to focus on this next 4 games upcoming at Shea (sorry-its Shea to me)
Coming into the season, the Nats were the team that most ‘experts’ predicted would be in the world SERIES, its very early and that still may be the case. However, we are in front of them and if we take 3 out of 4 this weekend, we put some very nice distance between us. 2-2 and I can live with it, nothing worse than that.
We have DeGrom and Harvey going, this has got to be the series that they look at and say ‘we can go toe to toe with this team’ right here right now!
Yes, they have Strauss and Scherzer going, but this is what will define a championship caliber team . ..this is season defining series coming up!

If you look at the stock market and interest rates, things appear to be GREAT.
Once you delve into all the fundamentals of these companies that are at all time highs you quickly realize that we are in for a free fall.
Although not as dramatic as 2008, we do see cracks in the foundation and I think this time we will let banks fail.
This will be Obama going away present..Please strap in, the flight will be a bumpy one!

With the impending deal being formulated with Iran, one can only wonder how low oil will drop. The Iranians will be able to unleash approx 1mm barrels a day to the world inventory , that as we stand seems to have excess inventory.
The trickle down economics of this impending slump in oil prices can effect life as we know it.
Price of gas will go down but many other areas of our economy will skyrocket. If we should fail to get a deal done, then the Iranians may feel they have nothing to lose and will artificially inflate the prices, the world is in trouble now at this point in time and Oil is going to be the main culprit.
