I Will Not Bow (But Only To Him)
David Erickson
Eb-85
Verse One
Today, humanity is so quick to bow to things of this earth that don't matter.
We bow to the queen, kneel at the anthem just to be seen to hear the chatter.
Lord, help us to see through the spirit that causes this age to be so distracted.
I will not bow to idols of clay nor allow my heart to be attracted.
Chorus
I will not bow; I will not bow but only to him who is my savior.
I will not bow to the things of this world and compromise with its behavior.
My God is the king, and he is the one who is worthy of all honor and praise.
I will not bow but only to him. He is the one worthy for all of my days.
Verse Two
In our world and in our nation, many bow to those who are important.
They worship the flesh and cast all their cares on the altar of self-importance.
Bowing to men and to things of this earth we take our eyes off the creator.
I will not bow but only to my God who is my one and only savior.
Bridge
I will not bow, I will not bow, but only to him who is my savior.
For he is the one worthy of my worship from now until forever.
