The Rainy Days
David Erickson
C-110
Verse One
Even though we do not plan them, rainy days do come along.
There are times in the dark, we wander where we don’t belong.
We encounter dark clouds and hours of discouragement and pain.
But even in the rainy days, my God is there and He's ever the same.
Chorus
The rainy days will come but God always gives me a song.
Singing through the challenges is where I always belong.
Even when the rainy days overwhelm me, and I am so down.
The rainy days will not get to me, for I’ll always have a song.
Verse Two
Storms and bitter weather may be just around the next corner.
Waiting there to dampen my song and bring me disorder.
But in the midst of anything that may distract from my song.
The sun breaks through, God intervenes, and the blue skys come along.
Bridge
Rainy days always come along but I still have a song.
I am thankful for my God who carries me through always with a song.
