About
I was raised in the Arkansas Ozarks, near Eureka Springs, by a Christian family that never had a lot of anything other than love. We always had plenty of love. In fact we had so much love that we shared it with the people next door, the people down the road, the people in town, and the people in the next town over. At times we even had occasion to share it with people in the next county over and beyond. This was a love that was deeply rooted in the Word of God. My prayer is to share that love through my writings, based on truths from the Word of God. Thank you

The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand!
The kingdom of Heaven is at hand! A Christian does not need to be told this, as the signs are abundantly clear, yet I feel compelled to remind us all that this is the message we were told by Jesus to spread throughout the world beginning some 2,000 years ago. I believe it is a message that is more urgent today than ever before. And here are a few reasons why, from a Christian viewpoint, I say this;
America is becoming increasingly volatile. Tensions are mounting between the liberal leftists and the Christian conservatives. Issues like abortion, homosexuality, our relationship with Israel, our Christian heritage, and others are kindling points which could very easily erupt this country into a civil war at any time. For the first time in our history we have a leader who has denounced our heritage as a Christian nation. He has advanced abortion rights and is openly promoting the advancement of gay rights, and quotes the Koran, all the while apologizing for the historical stands of past generations to advance the Biblical laws of liberty and justice. He cries, "Peace, peace" where the Bible says there will be no peace, but seemingly sees himself as a great arbitrator, and many refer to him as "the Messiah."
The world as a whole has become more volatile. Nuclear threats from North Korea, world- wide economical crisis, Muslim uprisings against Christians, unparalleled advancement of a totalitarian one world government (Without Jesus as King), massive killings and bombings in every corner of the world, Israeli-Palestinian unrest, and the list goes on and on and on. The Battle of Armageddon, in my opinion, is very close to beginning.
People who are against abortion and gay rights are misnomered as haters. Anymore, in America, men call evil good, and call good evil. Abortionists are called "pro-choice," when in reality they are pro-death. Homosexuals are viewed as people with alternative lifestyles while the Word of God says it is an abomination to God. Swine flu, bird flu, and AIDS are examples of plagues in our world. Famine is a multi-faceted fact in our society. There are starving people in all parts of the world. The world is in an economic crisis, yet money won't buy very much anymore. Interestingly, the average cost for a new home is $166,000 (down from $181,000 a few months ago), yet the minimum wage for workers is just a tad over $5 an hour. Automakers are in extreme financial duress, as well as homebuilders and speculators, because of high prices which no one can afford. These are famines just the same as someone not having enough food.
The Bible says that all these things will happen, so do not be fearful. The kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

Hi Jack, There is certainly a lot going on in the world today. I used to make myself sick (literally), by dwelling on it all. I used to visit the " conspiracy sites ", where it is all " doom and gloom ", and my reading time was spent digesting things like " Foxe's Book of Martyrs ". I was religious - but miserable, frightened, and sick. Then I met a Pastor who was wise enough to see what my problem was, and he gave me this advise. " For every minute you spend thinking about what the beast is doing, spend 10 minutes thinking about what the Lamb is doing ". I came to realize, that back in Paul's day, there were terrible persecutions occurring, and the fledgling Church faced many difficulties. Yet Paul didn't allow himself (or teach others), to dwell on the negatives. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy-keep thinking about these things. Just today, I read something about what the Catholic Church was doing in Ireland, that made me sick to my stomach. Quoting from Irish Question Catholic Identity After Abuse Report "He recalled how the children were taken to a court and "left standing there, without food or anything" until a man in a "long black frock and white collar" came and took them away. "Two nights later, I was raped," he said. Referring to his wife, O'Brien said, "That woman will tell you how many times I jumped out of the bed at night with the sweat pumping out of me, because I see these fellows at end of the bed … pulling me into the room, to rape me. " O'Brien went on to catalog the ensuing attempt by the Catholic religious orders to cover up the abuse, and the aggressive cross-examination he received from lawyers representing the religious orders. " This sort of thing has been perpetrated by agents of the Vatican, all over the world, for centuries, even right here where I live. For example, the infamous Mount Cashel sex abuse scandal, was made into a movie " The Boys of St. Vincent ". Yet, although I am grieved, I can't let myself dwell on such things. I pray about it, put it into the hands of God, and carry on - doing what I can for the Kingdom. If I didn't, it would "cripple me", and I would be useless to the Master. Conservative Christians like to rail against the "soulless" Liberals, yet it is the "Christians right" who empower the "wolves in sheep's clothing" - who hide behind Churches while perpetrating vile crimes. Some of the nicest people I have ever met, were not Christian. I think diversity in politics and religion (although fraught with difficulties), provides a counter-balance, which keeps one group (or another), from having total power (which is corrupting). Perhaps it can be no other way, until Christ returns. One thing is for sure, I am not going to worry myself sick over it all. I will think about Godly things, and keeping pointing people to Jesus - until he returns.
