  • Who Was/Were the Witness to Jesus' Passion? We all know of what Jesus went through for us, that's a give me. but I woke up this morning with a question on my heart ... Of everything the Lord went through that night when he was "captured" and brought to the Sanhedrin, the "trial", the scourging, Pilate, all of that, ask yourself where were the Disciples? Hey, after the capture on Mt. Olives they were dispersed, they went their ways. Peter followed along and saw some of the activity but only as a bystander. He was not allowed into the proceedings of Sanhedrin. None of the disciples were allowed to be in there to witness all that transpired within those walls of the Sanhedrin and King Herod's Court, and Pilate. So where did this exceptional treasure of information come from? The Soldier striking Jesus, the scourging, Pilate recognizing Jesus was a Nazarite and sent him to Herod. Think about it, all these proceedings were done in the presence of the Sanhedrin. Not one of the 4 Gospel writers or Peter were actually there because they had dispersed that night. We know where Peter was because of His Testimony, no he never made it into the Sanhedrin meeting hall. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John The Four Gospels where we get Jesus' Passion from, all say the same thing and yet none were there... somebody was! Why is that? because the description of the events are too exact to be otherwise. So who was it that gave all this information to the headship of Jesus' ministry on earth? I thought at first it might have been Joesph of Arimethea because of his connection to the Sanhedrin and to Jesus' , but would he be allowed into the actual meeting with the Sanhedrin itself? I dont think so, so that leaves only One man who had access to all those events during and after the Crucifixion . Only one, Nicodemus. It had to be Nicodemus who gave all the information to the disciples to keep them appraised of what was going on. Awesome, One thing for sure is the fact that all four gospels had to have gotten their information 2nd  hand.       That was fun ....Have a great Day!    Blessings to you all, James
