Romans 7: 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."

Basically here is what it really says, "Hey folks, here me out ... That which I know not to do, I Do! That is the sin living in me, But because I love the Law, hat which I know to do, I don't! And that makes me really bad. Because there is a War going on within me, it is the Flesh and Spiritual. "

So you see, that is why we are constantly battling within ourselves. It is the Flesh against the Spirit within us. The Song "Treasures " by John and Rebecca Tatum.  "My mind is on God, My mind is on money" Right off the bat John shows that there is a conflict here. God or money Which is it? He goes on to teach and explain. A Sermon if you will.

Why do you think the Songwriter writes? Especially Gospel Music? Because there is a message that the writer wants to convey to us the listener. So The Lyrics have to be very important, especially in Gospel Music. We are actually Preaching to the masses Short Sermons, with no license to do so, except from God. So AS writers, we have a responsibility to the Gospel, to God, To Jesus.

As a people, we are required to continue to contemplate where we are in Christ. Always judging, always repenting, always changing to make ourselves better. As Paul said, Phillippians 2: 12  " Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure" .What does this tell you? Yes To Receive Salvation is a gift from God. Its Free. BUT, He doesn't just want us to say thank you Lord for what you did. HE wants us to become like HIM. To think, to do, to walk, to discover. LIKE JESUS, He is our Example.  You see The Lord Showed Paul that Salvation is a PROCESS, A WORK IN PROGRESS.   In order to do that we must be continue to reflect where we are in Christ, constantly reflecting and repenting for the errors we have made, the sins we keep doing and above all keep making that Flesh submit to the Spirit.   AS we do that, The more of us Dies and the more of The Lord Jesus Christ begins to show himself through us.

Those of us see messages like this and don't  read them?  we are in the throes of becoming unteachable, which leads to Arrogance, Pride and Lovers of oneself.   Tell Me, what does that mean? To stop learning about the Lord thy God, The Lord Jesus? Is this not when we begin to Circumnavigate His Name? And when we Circumnavigate His Name we BY-Pass His Name therefore not giving the proper acknowledgment of who it is that has done this thing for us. When you by pass Jesus' Name, you don't give any Honor or Glory to HIM. He is the One who Created YOU, So by not acknowledging HIM who created you, You deny your own Existence. Why is it that HE said "You deny me, I will deny you before my Father?" ... What  choice does HE have? You deny your own Creation, You Deny Your own Existence. Therefore HE has no choice but to deny you before the Father. "

So Whether you  are studying the bible to learn, or to write songs to  let a message go out to the people, we are to  GET DOWN TO SOME SERIOUS CONTEMPLATING of  What the Spirit is trying to tell us. Amen?
