The New JB's Top Ten for Week of June 12, 2011
We have a new number #1 song now. That's not to say that last weeks number 1 wasn't good. It just means that the whole list of the Top Ten is really good. From top to bottom. There is even an instrumental that touches my heart. David Kocijan from Europe plays an anointed sax. Abide With Me just touches the spirit and you feel the love of Christ through his Sax. Watch out for the goosebumps when he goes up in key. Just beautiful. "Tell The Devil" last weeks Number 1 song by Gary Weldon Sr. tells it all. WE have the power to tell that Devil where to get off. "You Make This Place Wonderful" by Jimmy Workman and the band White Stones have a really good solid sound. The lyrics are solid too.
"Here Am I" by Barry and Teena Winslow is a new offering. You know that when they offer a song to the mix that it will be a good solid song, this is one is no exception. Taken from Isaiah 6:8. When the Lord asks you, "Whom Shall I send?" this is what we say to Him, "Here am I Lord, send me".. "Heaven Our Final Destiny" by Edward Legge is a nice with a bit of down home county in there. If you picture sitting out in the backyard with friends and they all played an instrument and they all were sitting around singing songs to the Lord, this is what I envision happening. Nice song Ed. But now, lets get down to the talk of the circuit.
Two weeks ago, I got wind of a lady that joined the group IndieGospelArtists. Jean Winters, our faithful member who keeps up on the website and gives recognition to many artists of the group and keeps it all uptodate. She Featured Devora Clark and one of her songs. It was on the Jukebox. I played it. ooops, I listen to the whole thing! The reaction to it was awesome. In just two short weeks this song is now the new #1 song on the list. It's a special song. the mix is so balanced, the guitar work is done to perfection, the violin accompanies the guitar nicely. But the voice blends in with it all superbly. Never mind the lyrics, just the voice(s) blend in with the harmonies. God's Love is definitely there. But the most important of course is the lyrics. Here is what she said about it.
Again, thanks, James, for your encouraging words as I attempt to put my music out there. The music came to me in a dream, so I give God the credit for the music. I penned the lyrics - my song of repentance. That's when it happened, that I stopped living like a "Sunday Christian." A wonderful man in Nashville by the name of Don Scott mixed it, and unfortunately for me, he's no longer in the biz, so it's been tough trying to find another studio that records drums and has the ear that Don has. Blessings to you and your wife! Devora Clark:)"
So it seems that song was anointed and given to her in a dream. And now we have the priviledge of hearing it.
Blessings to all of you and have a good week in the Lord.
In Him
James
