Here is another Psalms and Proverbs bible study, and again I am including seven Psalms and seven chapters of Proverbs to encourage worship of the Lord and also good advice to live your life by. I will not comment much again but let the scripture do the talking

Psalm 8 is a Psalm of praise of God in many ways

(Psalm 8:1)  To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.

 

(Psalm 8:2)  Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

 

(Psalm 8:3)  When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

 

(Psalm 8:4)  what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

 

(Psalm 8:5)  Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.

 

(Psalm 8:6)  You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet,

 

(Psalm 8:7)  all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,

 

(Psalm 8:8)  the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

 

(Psalm 8:9)  O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

 

Psalm 24 encourages people to seek Him and worship Him and alludes to Jesus at the end

(Psalm 24:1)  A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,

 

(Psalm 24:2)  for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

 

(Psalm 24:3)  Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?

 

(Psalm 24:4)  He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.

 

(Psalm 24:5)  He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

 

(Psalm 24:6)  Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah

 

(Psalm 24:7)  Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

 

(Psalm 24:8)  Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!

 

(Psalm 24:9)  Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

 

(Psalm 24:10)  Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah

 

Psalm 33 encourages worshipping the Lord by singing and praises Him for what He does

(Psalm 33:1)  Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.

 

(Psalm 33:2)  Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!

 

(Psalm 33:3)  Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

 

(Psalm 33:4)  For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.

 

(Psalm 33:5)  He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.

 

(Psalm 33:6)  By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

 

(Psalm 33:7)  He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses.

 

(Psalm 33:8)  Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!

 

(Psalm 33:9)  For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

 

(Psalm 33:10)  The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.

 

(Psalm 33:11)  The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.

 

(Psalm 33:12)  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

 

(Psalm 33:13)  The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man;

 

(Psalm 33:14)  from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,

 

(Psalm 33:15)  he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.

 

(Psalm 33:16)  The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

 

(Psalm 33:17)  The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.

 

(Psalm 33:18)  Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,

 

(Psalm 33:19)  that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.

 

(Psalm 33:20)  Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

 

(Psalm 33:21)  For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.

 

(Psalm 33:22)  Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

 

Psalm 40 is a testimonial and prayer type Psalm asking for help and deliverance from Him

(Psalm 40:1)  To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry.

 

(Psalm 40:2)  He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

 

(Psalm 40:3)  He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.

 

(Psalm 40:4)  Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!

 

(Psalm 40:5)  You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told.

 

(Psalm 40:6)  In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required.

 

(Psalm 40:7)  Then I said, "Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me:

 

(Psalm 40:8)  I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart."

 

(Psalm 40:9)  I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O LORD.

 

(Psalm 40:10)  I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.

 

(Psalm 40:11)  As for you, O LORD, you will not restrain your mercy from me; your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me!

 

(Psalm 40:12)  For evils have encompassed me beyond number; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me.

 

(Psalm 40:13)  Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me! O LORD, make haste to help me!

 

(Psalm 40:14)  Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether who seek to snatch away my life; let those be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt!

 

(Psalm 40:15)  Let those be appalled because of their shame who say to me, "Aha, Aha!"

 

(Psalm 40:16)  But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, "Great is the LORD!"

 

(Psalm 40:17)  As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God!

 

Psalm 62 encourages people to trust in God as a rock and a shelter as David the author did

(Psalm 62:1)  To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.

 

(Psalm 62:2)  He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

 

(Psalm 62:3)  How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?

 

(Psalm 62:4)  They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah

 

(Psalm 62:5)  For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.

 

(Psalm 62:6)  He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

 

(Psalm 62:7)  On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

 

(Psalm 62:8)  Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

 

(Psalm 62:9)  Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.

 

(Psalm 62:10)  Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

 

(Psalm 62:11)  Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,

 

(Psalm 62:12)  and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.

 

Psalm 66 is another Psalm encouraging us to praise and worship God

(Psalm 66:1)  To the choirmaster. A Song. A Psalm. Shout for joy to God, all the earth;

 

(Psalm 66:2)  sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!

 

(Psalm 66:3)  Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.

 

(Psalm 66:4)  All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name." Selah

 

(Psalm 66:5)  Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.

 

(Psalm 66:6)  He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him,

 

(Psalm 66:7)  who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations-- let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

 

(Psalm 66:8)  Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard,

 

(Psalm 66:9)  who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip.

 

(Psalm 66:10)  For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried.

 

(Psalm 66:11)  You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs;

 

(Psalm 66:12)  you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.

 

(Psalm 66:13)  I will come into your house with burnt offerings; I will perform my vows to you,

 

(Psalm 66:14)  that which my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in trouble.

 

(Psalm 66:15)  I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals, with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams; I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah

 

(Psalm 66:16)  Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.

 

(Psalm 66:17)  I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue.

 

(Psalm 66:18)  If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

 

(Psalm 66:19)  But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

 

(Psalm 66:20)  Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!

 

Psalm 84 the author longs for God as we all should and His house

(Psalm 84:1)  To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts!

 

(Psalm 84:2)  My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

 

(Psalm 84:3)  Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.

 

(Psalm 84:4)  Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah

 

(Psalm 84:5)  Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

 

(Psalm 84:6)  As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools.

 

(Psalm 84:7)  They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion.

 

(Psalm 84:8)  O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah

 

(Psalm 84:9)  Behold our shield, O God; look on the face of your anointed!

 

(Psalm 84:10)  For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

 

(Psalm 84:11)  For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.

 

(Psalm 84:12)  O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!

 

Proverbs chapter 2 encourages people to seek wisdom listing its benefits helping and delivering from evil

(Proverbs 2:1)  My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,

 

(Proverbs 2:2)  making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;

 

(Proverbs 2:3)  yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

 

(Proverbs 2:4)  if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,

 

(Proverbs 2:5)  then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

 

(Proverbs 2:6)  For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

 

(Proverbs 2:7)  he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

 

(Proverbs 2:8)  guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.

 

(Proverbs 2:9)  Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path;

 

(Proverbs 2:10)  for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

 

(Proverbs 2:11)  discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you,

 

(Proverbs 2:12)  delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,

 

(Proverbs 2:13)  who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,

 

(Proverbs 2:14)  who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,

 

(Proverbs 2:15)  men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways.

 

(Proverbs 2:16)  So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words,

 

(Proverbs 2:17)  who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God;

 

(Proverbs 2:18)  for her house sinks down to death, and her paths to the departed;

 

(Proverbs 2:19)  none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life.

 

(Proverbs 2:20)  So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.

 

(Proverbs 2:21)  For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it,

 

(Proverbs 2:22)  but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it.

 

Proverbs chapter 6 is a collection of proverbs encouraging diligence yet also strongly encouraging people to avoid evil including the adulteress.

(Proverbs 6:1)  My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, have given your pledge for a stranger,

 

(Proverbs 6:2)  if you are snared in the words of your mouth, caught in the words of your mouth,

 

(Proverbs 6:3)  then do this, my son, and save yourself, for you have come into the hand of your neighbor: go, hasten, and plead urgently with your neighbor.

 

(Proverbs 6:4)  Give your eyes no sleep and your eyelids no slumber;

 

(Proverbs 6:5)  save yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

 

(Proverbs 6:6)  Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.

 

(Proverbs 6:7)  Without having any chief, officer, or ruler,

 

(Proverbs 6:8)  she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.

 

(Proverbs 6:9)  How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?

 

(Proverbs 6:10)  A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,

 

(Proverbs 6:11)  and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.

 

(Proverbs 6:12)  A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech,

 

(Proverbs 6:13)  winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger,

 

(Proverbs 6:14)  with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord;

 

(Proverbs 6:15)  therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.

 

(Proverbs 6:16)  There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him:

 

(Proverbs 6:17)  haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

 

(Proverbs 6:18)  a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,

 

(Proverbs 6:19)  a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

 

(Proverbs 6:20)  My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.

 

(Proverbs 6:21)  Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck.

 

(Proverbs 6:22)  When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.

 

(Proverbs 6:23)  For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,

 

(Proverbs 6:24)  to preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress.

 

(Proverbs 6:25)  Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes;

 

(Proverbs 6:26)  for the price of a prostitute is only a loaf of bread, but a married woman hunts down a precious life.

 

(Proverbs 6:27)  Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned?

 

(Proverbs 6:28)  Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched?

 

(Proverbs 6:29)  So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; none who touches her will go unpunished.

 

(Proverbs 6:30)  People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his appetite when he is hungry,

 

(Proverbs 6:31)  but if he is caught, he will pay sevenfold; he will give all the goods of his house.

 

(Proverbs 6:32)  He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself.

 

(Proverbs 6:33)  He will get wounds and dishonor, and his disgrace will not be wiped away.

 

(Proverbs 6:34)  For jealousy makes a man furious, and he will not spare when he takes revenge.

 

(Proverbs 6:35)  He will accept no compensation; he will refuse though you multiply gifts.

 

Proverbs chapter 13 is a strong collection of proverbs with good advice

(Proverbs 13:1)  A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.

 

(Proverbs 13:2)  From the fruit of his mouth a man eats what is good, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.

 

(Proverbs 13:3)  Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

 

(Proverbs 13:4)  The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

 

(Proverbs 13:5)  The righteous hates falsehood, but the wicked brings shame and disgrace.

 

(Pro 13:6)  Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but sin overthrows the wicked.

 

(Proverbs 13:7)  One pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.

 

(Proverbs 13:8)  The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.

 

(Proverbs 13:9)  The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

 

(Proverbs 13:10)  By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.

 

(Proverbs 13:11)  Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

 

(Proverbs 13:12)  Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

 

(Proverbs 13:13)  Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.

 

(Proverbs 13:14)  The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.

 

(Proverbs 13:15)  Good sense wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is their ruin.

 

(Proverbs 13:16)  In everything the prudent acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.

 

(Proverbs 13:17)  A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing.

 

(Proverbs 13:18)  Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored.

 

(Proverbs 13:19)  A desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but to turn away from evil is an abomination to fools.

 

(Proverbs 13:20)  Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

 

(Proverbs 13:21)  Disaster pursues sinners, but the righteous are rewarded with good.

 

(Proverbs 13:22)  A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous.

 

(Proverbs 13:23)  The fallow ground of the poor would yield much food, but it is swept away through injustice.

 

(Proverbs 13:24)  Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

 

(Proverbs 13:25)  The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite, but the belly of the wicked suffers want.

 

Proverbs chapter 15 is another chapter of strong advice

(Proverbs 15:1)  A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

 

(Pro 15:2)  The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

 

(Proverbs 15:3)  The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

 

(Proverbs 15:4)  A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

 

(Proverbs 15:5)  A fool despises his father's instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.

 

(Proverbs 15:6)  In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, but trouble befalls the income of the wicked.

 

(Proverbs 15:7)  The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools.

 

(Proverbs 15:8)  The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.

 

(Proverbs 15:9)  The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves him who pursues righteousness.

 

(Proverbs 15:10)  There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; whoever hates reproof will die.

 

(Proverbs 15:11)  Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD; how much more the hearts of the children of man!

 

(Proverbs 15:12)  A scoffer does not like to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.

 

(Proverbs 15:13)  A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.

 

(Proverbs 15:14)  The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.

 

(Proverbs 15:15)  All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of heart has a continual feast.

 

(Proverbs 15:16)  Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.

 

(Proverbs 15:17)  Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it.

 

(Proverbs 15:18)  A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.

 

(Proverbs 15:19)  The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.

 

(Proverbs 15:20)  A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

 

(Proverbs 15:21)  Folly is a joy to him who lacks sense, but a man of understanding walks straight ahead.

 

(Proverbs 15:22)  Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.

 

(Proverbs 15:23)  To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!

 

(Proverbs 15:24)  The path of life leads upward for the prudent, that he may turn away from Sheol beneath.

 

(Proverbs 15:25)  The LORD tears down the house of the proud but maintains the widow's boundaries.

 

(Proverbs 15:26)  The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, but gracious words are pure.

 

(Proverbs 15:27)  Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.

 

(Proverbs 15:28)  The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

 

(Proverbs 15:29)  The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

 

(Proverbs 15:30)  The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes the bones.

 

(Proverbs 15:31)  The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.

 

(Proverbs 15:32)  Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.

 

(Proverbs 15:33)  The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

 

Proverbs chapter 17 is another excellent collection

(Proverbs 17:1)  Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.

 

(Proverbs 17:2)  A servant who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers.

 

(Proverbs 17:3)  The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and the LORD tests hearts.

 

(Proverbs 17:4)  An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue.

 

(Proverbs 17:5)  Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker; he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.

 

(Proverbs 17:6)  Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.

 

(Proverbs 17:7)  Fine speech is not becoming to a fool; still less is false speech to a prince.

 

(Proverbs 17:8)  A bribe is like a magic stone in the eyes of the one who gives it; wherever he turns he prospers.

 

(Proverbs 17:9)  Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.

 

(Proverbs 17:10)  A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool.

 

(Proverbs 17:11)  An evil man seeks only rebellion, and a cruel messenger will be sent against him.

 

(Proverbs 17:12)  Let a man meet a she-bear robbed of her cubs rather than a fool in his folly.

 

(Proverbs 17:13)  If anyone returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.

 

(Proverbs 17:14)  The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so quit before the quarrel breaks out.

 

(Proverbs 17:15)  He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the LORD.

 

(Proverbs 17:16)  Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he has no sense?

 

(Proverbs 17:17)  A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

 

(Proverbs 17:18)  One who lacks sense gives a pledge and puts up security in the presence of his neighbor.

 

(Proverbs 17:19)  Whoever loves transgression loves strife; he who makes his door high seeks destruction.

 

(Proverbs 17:20)  A man of crooked heart does not discover good, and one with a dishonest tongue falls into calamity.

 

(Proverbs 17:21)  He who sires a fool gets himself sorrow, and the father of a fool has no joy.

 

(Proverbs 17:22)  A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

 

(Proverbs 17:23)  The wicked accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the ways of justice.

 

(Proverbs 17:24)  The discerning sets his face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.

 

(Proverbs 17:25)  A foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her who bore him.

 

(Proverbs 17:26)  To impose a fine on a righteous man is not good, nor to strike the noble for their uprightness.

 

(Proverbs 17:27)  Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

 

(Proverbs 17:28)  Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.

 

Proverbs chapter 23 is a chapter of advice and strong warnings in various areas

(Proverbs 23:1)  When you sit down to eat with a ruler, observe carefully what is before you,

 

(Proverbs 23:2)  and put a knife to your throat if you are given to appetite.

 

(Proverbs 23:3)  Do not desire his delicacies, for they are deceptive food.

 

(Proverbs 23:4)  Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist.

 

(Proverbs 23:5)  When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven.

 

(Proverbs 23:6)  Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

 

(Proverbs 23:7)  for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

 

(Proverbs 23:8)  You will vomit up the morsels that you have eaten, and waste your pleasant words.

 

(Proverbs 23:9)  Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the good sense of your words.

 

(Proverbs 23:10)  Do not move an ancient landmark or enter the fields of the fatherless,

 

(Proverbs 23:11)  for their Redeemer is strong; he will plead their cause against you.

 

(Proverbs 23:12)  Apply your heart to instruction and your ear to words of knowledge.

 

(Proverbs 23:13)  Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die.

 

(Proverbs 23:14)  If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.

 

(Proverbs 23:15)  My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad.

 

(Proverbs 23:16)  My inmost being will exult when your lips speak what is right.

 

(Proverbs 23:17)  Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day.

 

(Proverbs 23:18)  Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

 

(Proverbs 23:19)  Hear, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way.

 

(Proverbs 23:20)  Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat,

 

(Proverbs 23:21)  for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.

 

(Proverbs 23:22)  Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

 

(Proverbs 23:23)  Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.

 

(Proverbs 23:24)  The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.

 

(Proverbs 23:25)  Let your father and mother be glad; let her who bore you rejoice.

 

(Proverbs 23:26)  My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

 

(Proverbs 23:27)  For a prostitute is a deep pit; an adulteress is a narrow well.

 

(Proverbs 23:28)  She lies in wait like a robber and increases the traitors among mankind.

 

(Proverbs 23:29)  Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes?

 

(Proverbs 23:30)  Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine.

 

(Proverbs 23:31)  Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly.

 

(Proverbs 23:32)  In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder.

 

(Proverbs 23:33)  Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart utter perverse things.

 

(Proverbs 23:34)  You will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, like one who lies on the top of a mast.

 

(Proverbs 23:35)  "They struck me," you will say, "but I was not hurt; they beat me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake? I must have another drink."

 

Proverbs chapter 30, by Agur, whether or not it is a penname for Solomon also has good things and advice

(Proverbs 30:1)  The words of Agur son of Jakeh. The oracle. The man declares, I am weary, O God; I am weary, O God, and worn out.

 

(Proverbs 30:2)  Surely I am too stupid to be a man. I have not the understanding of a man.

 

(Proverbs 30:3)  I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.

 

(Proverbs 30:4)  Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name? Surely you know!

 

(Proverbs 30:5)  Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

 

(Proverbs 30:6)  Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.

 

(Proverbs 30:7)  Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die:

 

(Proverbs 30:8)  Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,

 

(Proverbs 30:9)  lest I be full and deny you and say, "Who is the LORD?" or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.

 

(Proverbs 30:10)  Do not slander a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.

 

(Proverbs 30:11)  There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers.

 

(Proverbs 30:12)  There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth.

 

(Proverbs 30:13)  There are those--how lofty are their eyes, how high their eyelids lift!

 

(Proverbs 30:14)  There are those whose teeth are swords, whose fangs are knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, the needy from among mankind.

 

(Proverbs 30:15)  The leech has two daughters: Give and Give. Three things are never satisfied; four never say, "Enough":

 

(Proverbs 30:16)  Sheol, the barren womb, the land never satisfied with water, and the fire that never says, "Enough."

 

(Proverbs 30:17)  The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.

 

(Proverbs 30:18)  Three things are too wonderful for me; four I do not understand:

 

(Proverbs 30:19)  the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a virgin.

 

(Proverbs 30:20)  This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, "I have done no wrong."

(Proverbs 30:25)  the ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer;

 

(Proverbs 30:26)  the rock badgers are a people not mighty, yet they make their homes in the cliffs;

 

(Proverbs 30:27)  the locusts have no king, yet all of them march in rank;

 

(Proverbs 30:28)  the lizard you can take in your hands, yet it is in kings' palaces.

 

(Proverbs 30:29)  Three things are stately in their tread; four are stately in their stride:

 

(Proverbs 30:30)  the lion, which is mightiest among beasts and does not turn back before any;

 

(Proverbs 30:31)  the strutting rooster, the he-goat, and a king whose army is with him.

 

(Proverbs 30:32)  If you have been foolish, exalting yourself, or if you have been devising evil, put your hand on your mouth.

 

(Proverbs 30:33)  For pressing milk produces curds, pressing the nose produces blood, and pressing anger produces strife.

 

The Psalms and Proverbs are one of God’s ways in the bible to give good advice to live a godly life free of evil but also to give praise, honor and thanks to God, who made us and protects and provides for us. He would also send His Son Jesus to die for our sins so we can live eternally. He loves us that much to do that, and Jesus went willingly, also wanting to see the relationship between man and God be restored, that was separated by sin. Jesus’ death on the cross atoned for all sin and paid the price, enabling this relationship to be possible to those who accept the gift of salvation Jesus provided on the cross. There is nothing that can compare with a relationship with God, nothing can come even remotely close to it. I am now including a prayer which you can now use to invite Jesus in your heart and start this wonderful relationship to which nothing can compare. Please pray this prayer with me now

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess Jesus as our Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we will be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
