eternal life a salvation tract
Eternal Life in Heaven a salvation tract
One of the best promises God promises us is life eternal with Him (as opposed to being cast into the lake of fire at the end of time from hell) for God loves us and wants us to be happy and in fellowship with Him forever. I am doing this to show you how this can be done.
Here are some important verses in Romans telling us that we have fallen short of God’s perfecting and we need His grace yet also that through His Son Jesus we can have this eternal life
(Romans 3:23) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
(Romans 3:24) and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Here are the consequences of the sin that we have committed but also the promise of eternal life through Jesus
(Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord
Here is an important passage in John 3 which speak of eternal life- first by Jesus who says that is why God sent Him, so that whoever believes in Him has eternal life but warns that those who do not believe in Him are already condemned
(John 3:13) No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
(John 3:14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
(John 3:15) that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
(John 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
(John 3:18) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John the Baptist repeats the message here to believe in Jesus for eternal life
(John 3:35) The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.
(John 3:36) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
This verse in John chapter 5 continues to stress that matter
(John 5:24) Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
It is God’s will for all who believe in the Son to have eternal life through him in varied verses in John chapter 6
(John 6:40) For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day."
(John 6:51) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."
(John 6:54) Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
(John 6:55) For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
(John 6:56) Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
(John 6:57) As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
(John 6:58) This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever."
In this passage Jesus promises His sheep eternal life
(John 10:27) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
(John 10:28) I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
(John 10:29) My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
The message of believing in Jesus to get eternal life is further expounded in 1 Timothy in these verses
(1 Timothy 1:16) But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
(1 Timothy 6:12) Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Here are a couple of verses in 1 John 2 to further the point even more about eternal life.
(1 John 2:24) Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.
(1 John 2:25) And this is the promise that he made to us--eternal life.
Again the message of believing in the Son, Jesus for eternal life is presented very convincingly here in 1 John 5
(1 John 5:11) And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
(1 John 5:12) Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
(1 John 5:13) I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
As some of the above verses do remind us, this verse really drives home the point that eternal life from heaven is really a gift from God and cannot be earned in any way by our own works so God Himself has provided the means to escape hell and to have eternal life with Him.
(Ephesians 2:8) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
(Ephesians 2:9) not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
(2 Corinthians 9:15) Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
Here is a message from Jude to build ourselves in the live of God for the mercy of Jeus leading to eternal life
(Jude 1:20) But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,
(Jude 1:21) keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
Here Jesus Himself says that He is the only way to Heaven and the Father and in so doing avoid hell that Jesus Himself spoke of
(John 14:6) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
But Jesus also makes it clear in Revelation that He indeed is seeking people always
(Revelation 3:20) Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Take a look at this verse in Timothy stating that God does really care about His people being saved and turning from their evil ways
(1 Timothy 2:4) who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Here is a verse in 2 Peter to remind us that the Lord wants people to repent from their sins and is patient in that end
(2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
What are the keys to repentance? Here is a verse in 1 John
(1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And here are the two key verses in Romans 10 about Salvation:
(Romans 10:9) because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
(Romans 10:10) For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
(Romans 10:11) For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."
(Romans 10:12) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.
(Romans 10:13) For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
I am sure you have now seen enough now to be ready to pray to be saved. I am now including a short prayer that you can say to ensure that you are saved and have eternal life when you die, going to heaven to be with Jesus forever and not end up going to hell.
Heavenly Father I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I confess to You that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I confess and repent of all of my sins and unrighteousness. Right now I confess with my mouth Jesus as the Lord of my life and believe in my heart that You, God did indeed raise Him from the dead. I thank You for cleansing and forgiving me of all of my sins and unrighteousness and for saving me. I thank You for sending Your Son to die in my place for my sins, and for the inexpressible gift of eternal life that I now claim through the death of Jesus on the cross. Thank You, Lord, again for saving me. In the Name of Jesus I pray Amen
