                        Book of Psalms bible study Psalms 120 to 150

Here is the seventh and final study of the book of Psalms covering the last 31 Psalms, most of which are fairly short in length, many less than ten verses, in fact. These psalms cover the gamut from praise and worship songs, prayer, and other types. Many if not most of these Psalms were in fact written by David, but there are also some that are anonymous. The last six psalms (Psalm 145 through 150) are just out and out praise and worship Psalms.

This is a follow up from the Psalm 119 bible study for those wanting to read it or are doing a full bible study of all the books of Psalms here is a link to the Psalm 119 bible study

(Psalm 121:2)  My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

(Psalm 121:3)  He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.

(Psalm 121:4)  Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

(Psalm 121:5)  The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.

(Psalm 121:6)  The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

(Psalm 121:8)  The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Psalm 122

(Psalm 122:1)  A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD!"

(Psalm 123:2)  Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us.

(Psalm 124:2)  if it had not been the LORD who was on our side when people rose up against us,

(Psalm 124:3)  then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us;

(Psalm 124:4)  then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us;

(Psalm 124:5)  then over us would have gone the raging waters.

(Psalm 124:6)  Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth!

(Psalm 129:6)  Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,

(Psalm 129:7)  with which the reaper does not fill his hand nor the binder of sheaves his arms,

(Psalm 129:8)  nor do those who pass by say, "The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD!"

Psalm 132

(Psalm 132:3)  "I will not enter my house or get into my bed,

(Psalm 132:4)  I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,

(Psalm 132:5)  until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."

(Psalm 132:12)  If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, their sons also forever shall sit on your throne."

(Psalm 132:13)  For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place:

(Psalm 132:14)  "This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

(Psalm 135:10)  who struck down many nations and killed mighty kings,

(Psalm 135:11)  Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan,

These Psalms all show how merciful and wonderful God really is, listening to our prayers and deserving of all of our praise that we offer Him. There also is advice on how to live, as well. Jesus came and died for all of us, out of love, so we can be restored to a good relationship with Him and the Father, and there is nothing comparable to an excellent relationship with God the Father, nothing at all because He is so good to each and every one if us and loves us more than we can know. I am now including a prayer which you can use to invite Jesus into your heart to start this wonderful love relationship or have Him come back, if you have drifted away for any reason. Please pray this following prayer with me:

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess Jesus as our Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we will be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Amen.

God bless you and yours
