Seven life application scriptures teaching from the bible

I am feeling led to write a note with seven different scripture teachings from the bible designed to help you live a better and more productive, happier, life with less stress and temptation from everyone, as well as much more peace. Also, these tips should help relationships with others, including family. The Lord loves you and wants you to be happy

be careful of what we say

We need to be very carful of what we say and to bridle our tongue as this scripture says, because our tongue can both lift people up or tear them down.

(James 3:2)  For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

(James 3:3)  If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well.

(James 3:4)  Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs.

(James 3:5)  So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!

(James 3:6)  And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.

(James 3:7)  For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind,

(James 3:8)  but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

(James 3:9)  With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.

(James 3:10)  From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

(James 3:11)  Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water?

(James 3:12)  Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

(James 3:13)  Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.

(James 3:14)  But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.

(James 3:15)  This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

(James 3:16)  For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.

(James 3:17)  But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.

(James 3:18)  And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

We must be careful not only what we say of course but what we do each days as to be peaceable and gentile, and loving and not be into jealousy or selfish ambition as the following scripture says.

2 we must be careful of all that we do

We must ALL be carful of what we do in our lives as this scripture talks about doing good works and avoiding the dead works of our flesh and our self

(Colossians 3:1)  If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

(Colossians 3:2)  Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

(Colossians 3:3)  For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

(Colossians 3:4)  When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

(Colossians 3:5)  Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

(Colossians 3:6)  On account of these the wrath of God is coming.

(Colossians 3:7)  In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.

(Colossians 3:8)  But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

(Colossians 3:9)  Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices

(Colossians 3:10)  and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

(Colossians 3:11)  Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

(Colossians 3:12)  Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,

(Colossians 3:13)  bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

(Colossians 3:14)  And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

(Colossians 3:15)  And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

(Colossians 3:16)  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

(Colossians 3:17)  And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

These 3 verses in 1 Corinthians 10 reinforce the point of doing all that you do for God’s glory

(1Corinthians 10:31)  So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

(1Corinthians 10:32)  Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,

(1Corinthians 10:33)  just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

Also don’t do things for personal, selfish, reasons but that others may be saved through our Lord Jesus Christ.

3     do things impartially with grace and Faith without works is dead James

This chapter 2 in the book of James discusses things about doing things with grace, mercy and not partial to anyone….

(James 2:1)  My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory.

(James 2:2)  For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,

(James 2:3)  and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, "You sit here in a good place," while you say to the poor man, "You stand over there," or, "Sit down at my feet,"

(James 2:4)  have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

(James 2:5)  Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

(James 2:6)  But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court?

(James 2:7)  Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called?

(James 2:8)  If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well.

(James 2:9)  But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

(James 2:10)  For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.

(James 2:11)  For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

(James 2:12)  So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.

(James 2:13)  For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

(James 2:14)  What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

(James 2:15)  If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,

(James 2:16)  and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

(James 2:17)  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

(James 2:18)  But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

(James 2:19)  You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe--and shudder!

(James 2:20)  Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

(James 2:21)  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?

(James 2:22)  You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works;

(James 2:23)  and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"--and he was called a friend of God.

(James 2:24)  You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

(James 2:25)  And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?

(James 2:26)  For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

He makes such a strong case for the fact that faith must be accompanied by good works, in the spirit to be truly valid.

4    works of the flesh and of the spirit

This one starts by reinforcing some of the scriptures about the law, above in James and reminds us to do the works by the spirit and not in the flesh for those who do things in the flesh consistently will NOT inherit the kingdom of God- so beware.

(Galatians 5:1)  For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

(Galatians 5:2)  Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.

(Galatians 5:3)  I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.

(Galatians 5:4)  You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

(Galatians 5:5)  For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.

(Galatians 5:6)  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

(Galatians 5:7)  You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

(Galatians 5:8)  This persuasion is not from him who calls you.

(Galatians 5:9)  A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

(Galatians 5:10)  I have confidence in the Lord that you will take no other view than mine, and the one who is troubling you will bear the penalty, whoever he is.

(Galatians 5:11)  But if I, brothers, still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.

(Galatians 5:12)  I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!

(Galatians 5:13)  For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

(Galatians 5:14)  For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

(Galatians 5:15)  But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

(Galatians 5:16)  But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

(Galatians 5:17)  For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

(Galatians 5:18)  But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

(Galatians 5:19)  Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,

(Galatians 5:20) idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,

(Galatians 5:21) envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

(Galatians 5:22)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

(Galatians 5:23)  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

(Galatians 5:24)  And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

(Galatians 5:25)  If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

(Galatians 5:26)  Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

5   put on full armor of God to resist Satan and his attacks

Here is a strong bit of scripture reminding us to put on God’s whole armor so as to withstand all the different and varied the attacks of Satan, including his fiery darts, which he loves to cast at believers

(Ephesians 6:10)  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

(Ephesians 6:11)  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

(Ephesians 6:12)  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

(Ephesians 6:13)  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

(Ephesians 6:14)  Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

(Ephesians 6:15)  and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

(Ephesians 6:16)  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;

(Ephesians 6:17)  and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

(Ephesians 6:18)  praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

And also the Lord says that no temptation will ever be so strong we cannot resist it with His help, and He will also always give a way out so that the temptation is bearable:

(1Corinthians 10:13)  No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

6   loving one another.

This is the love chapter in the bible which reminds us do everything having love as the primary motive  for all that we think, say, and  do . Love is totally selfless. This chapter describes what love is fully, and that we are nothing without love.

(1 Corinthians 13:1)  If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

(1 Corinthians 13:2)  And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

(1 Corinthians 13:3)  If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.

(1 Corinthians 13:4)  Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant

(1 Corinthians 13:5)  or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

(1Corinthians 13:6)  it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

(1 Corinthians 13:7)  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

(1 Corinthians 13:8)  Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

(1 Corinthians 13:9)  For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

(1 Corinthians 13:10)  but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

(1Corinthians 13:11)  When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

(1Co 13:12)  For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

(1 Corinthians 13:13)  So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Jesus says this about love in John 15

(John 15:13)  Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

That of course is the ultimate sacrifice and I have heard stories of it. This could be a soldier throwing himself on a grenade that others are not hurt or killed by its blast or giving the last seat of a lifeboat or helicopter to others, then ending up losing his life in whatever disaster that may be at hand.

Doing things in love is so key, for God is love.

born again/salvation

This is the key scriptures to being saved to be born both of the flesh and of the spirit, that God loves  us so much He sent His son, all that is stated in John 3

(John 3:1)  Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

(John 3:2)  This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him."

(John 3:3)  Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

(John 3:4)  Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"

(John 3:5)  Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

(John 3:6)  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

(John 3:7)  Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'

(John 3:8)  The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."

(John 3:9)  Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?"

(John 3:10)  Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?

(John 3:11)  Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.

(John 3:12)  If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

(John 3:13)  No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

(John 3:14)  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

(John 3:15)  that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

(John 3:16)  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:17)  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

(John 3:18)  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

(John 3:19)  And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

(John 3:20)  For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.

(John 3:21)  But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."

God did indeed send His son to be a light to the world so that all who love Him can be saved and have eternal life. Paul in Romans then states we must confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead for salvation

(Rom 10:8)  But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);

(Romans 10:9)  because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

(Romans 10:10)  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

(Romans 10:11)  For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."

(Romans 10:12)  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.

(Romans 10:13)  For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Yes, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. If there is anything that you have read here that has made you want to know the Lord personally, to commit Your life to Him, confessing Him as your Lord and Savior, so you can be with Him in Heaven, and to know the peace that passes all understanding. Please pray this prayer with me for salvation or recommitment to come to a relationship which is like no other, I know that for myself.

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank You Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank You Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank You Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Amen.
