            Here are 12 good chapters from the New Testament which all contain good advice on living one’s life. I am starting with the five chapters in John where Jesus has the last supper and then teaches His disciples and then prays for them

In John chapter 13 is the chapter where Jesus washes the disciples’ feet, Judas goes to betray Him, and then gives the command that we are indeed to love one another as Jesus loves us. The chapter then ends with Jesus foretelling that Peter will deny Jesus three times.

(John 13:1)  Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

(John 13:2)  And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;

(John 13:3)  Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;

(John 13:4)  He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.

(John 13:5)  After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

(John 13:6)  Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

(John 13:7)  Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

(John 13:8)  Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

(John 13:9)  Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

(John 13:10)  Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

(John 13:11)  For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

(John 13:12)  So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?

(John 13:13)  Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

(John 13:14)  If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

(John 13:15)  For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

(John 13:16)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

(John 13:17)  If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

(John 13:18)  I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

(John 13:19)  Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

(Joh 13:20)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

(John 13:21)  When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

(John 13:22)  Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.

(John 13:23)  Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

(John 13:24)  Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.

(John 13:25)  He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

(John 13:26)  Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

(John 13:27)  And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

(John 13:28)  Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.

(John 13:29)  For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

(John 13:30)  He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

(John 13:31)  Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

(John 13:32)  If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

(John 13:33)  Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

(John 13:34)  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

(John 13:35)  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

(John 13:36)  Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.

(John 13:37)  Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

(John 13:38)  Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

In John chapter 14 Jesus starts this teaching with powerful promises of a dwelling place, and that we will do all that He does and more along with the promise of the Holy Spirit. He also says that only He is the way to the Father- and no other way.

(John 14:1)  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

(John 14:2)  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

(John 14:3)  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

(John 14:4)  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

(John 14:5)  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

(John 14:6)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

(John 14:7)  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

(John 14:8)  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

(John 14:9)  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

(John 14:10)  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

(John 14:11)  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

(John 14:12)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

(John 14:13)  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

(John 14:14)  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

(John 14:15)  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

(John 14:16)  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

(John 14:17)  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

(John 14:18)  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

(John 14:19)  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

(John 14:20)  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

(John 14:21)  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

(John 14:22)  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

(John 14:23)  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

(John 14:24)  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

(John 14:25)  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

(John 14:26)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

(John 14:27)  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

(John 14:28)  Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

(John 14:29)  And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

(John 14:30)  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

(John 14:31)  But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

In John chapter 15 Jesus’ teaching continues using the vine, stating we must abide in Him to do anything and when we do we can also ask anything. He again states that we must love one another too.

(John 15:1)  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

(John 15:2)  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

(John 15:3)  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

(John 15:4)  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

(John 15:5)  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

(John 15:6)  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

(John 15:7)  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

(John 15:8)  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

(John 15:9)  As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

(John 15:10)  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

(John 15:11)  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

(John 15:12)  This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

(John 15:13)  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

(John 15:14)  Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

(John 15:15)  Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

(John 15:16)  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

(John 15:17)  These things I command you, that ye love one another.

(John 15:18)  If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

(John 15:19)  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

(John 15:20)  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

(John 15:21)  But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

(John 15:22)  If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

(John 15:23)  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

(John 15:24)  If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

(John 15:25)  But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

(John 15:26)  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

(John 15:27)  And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

In the final chapter of three teaching chapters Jesus reminds us the world will hate us too but also reminds us that He had to go so the Holy Spirit could come also to convict the world of sin. He reminds us that He has overcome the world.

(John 16:1)  These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

(John 16:2)  They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

(John 16:3)  And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

(John 16:4)  But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

(John 16:5)  But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

(John 16:6)  But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

(John 16:7)  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

(John 16:8)  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

(John 16:9)  Of sin, because they believe not on me;

(John 16:10)  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

(John 16:11)  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

(John 16:12)  I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

(John 16:13)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

(John 16:14)  He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

(John 16:15)  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

(John 16:16)  A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

(John 16:17)  Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

(John 16:18)  They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

(John 16:19)  Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

(John 16:20)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

(John 16:21)  A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

(John 16:22)  And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

(John 16:23)  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

(John 16:24)  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

(John 16:25)  These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

(John 16:26)  At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

(John 16:27)  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

(John 16:28)  I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

(John 16:29)  His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

(John 16:30)  Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

(John 16:31)  Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

(John 16:32)  Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

(John 16:33)  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Chapter 17 of John is where Jesus then prays to His Father about many things, mainly though about His disciples that they be blessed. It is a very powerful prayer, perhaps the most powerful one of the whole bible.

(John 17:1)  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

(John 17:2)  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

(John 17:3)  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

(John 17:4)  I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

(John 17:5)  And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

(John 17:6)  I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

(John 17:7)  Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

(John 17:8)  For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

(John 17:9)  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

(John 17:10)  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

(John 17:11)  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

(John 17:12)  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

(John 17:13)  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

(John 17:14)  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

(John 17:15)  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

(John 17:16)  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

(John 17:17)  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

(John 17:18)  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

(John 17:19)  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

(John 17:20)  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

(John 17:21)  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

(John 17:22)  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

(John 17:23)  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

(John 17:24)  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

(John 17:25)  O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

(John 17:26)  And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

In Galatians chapter 5 Paul then encourages people to stand fast in Christ’s liberty and strongly encourages us to walk in love displaying the fruit of the spirit and not gratify the deeds of the flesh but instead to crucify them

(Galatians 5:1)  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

(Galatians 5:2)  Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

(Galatians 5:3)  For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

(Galatians 5:4)  Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

(Galatians 5:5)  For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

(Galatians 5:6)  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

(Galatians 5:7)  Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

(Galatians 5:8)  This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.

(Galatians 5:9)  A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

(Galatians 5:10)  I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

(Galatians 5:11)  And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

(Galatians 5:12)  I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

(Galatians 5:13)  For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

(Galatians 5:14)  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

(Galatians 5:15)  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

(Galatians 5:16)  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

(Galatians 5:17)  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

(Galatians 5:18)  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

(Galatians 5:19)  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

(Galatians 5:20)  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

(Galatians 5:21)  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

(Galatians 5:22)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

(Galatians 5:23)  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

(Galatians 5:24)  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

(Galatians 5:25)  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

(Galatians 5:26)  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Galatians chapter 6 encourages one to restore a fallen brother in love and again warns to not sow to the flesh but to the spirit as there are consequences to both

(Galatians 6:1)  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

(Galatians 6:2)  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

(Galatians 6:3)  For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

(Galatians 6:4)  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

(Galatians 6:5)  For every man shall bear his own burden.

(Galatians 6:6)  Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

(Galatians 6:7)  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

(Galatians 6:8)  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

(Galatians 6:9)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

(Galatians 6:10)  As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

(Galatians 6:11)  Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

(Galatians 6:12)  As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

(Galatians 6:13)  For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

(Galatians 6:14)  But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

(Galatians 6:15)  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

(Galatians 6:16)  And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

(Galatians 6:17)  From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

(Galatians 6:18)  Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. To the Galatians written from Rome.

Ephesians chapter 4 encourages us to live in unity in one faith and one baptism and states the ministry gifts then encourages good communication and not corrupt communication out of our mouths

(Ephesians 4:1)  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

(Ephesians 4:2)  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

(Ephesians 4:3)  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

(Ephesians 4:4)  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

(Ephesians 4:5)  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

(Ephesians 4:6)  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

(Ephesians 4:7)  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

(Ephesians 4:8)  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

(Ephesians 4:9)  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

(Ephesians 4:10)  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

(Ephesians 4:11)  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

(Ephesians 4:12)  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

(Ephesians 4:13)  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

(Ephesians 4:14)  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

(Ephesians 4:15)  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

(Ephesians 4:16)  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

(Ephesians 4:17)  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

(Ephesians 4:18)  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

(Ephesians 4:19)  Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

(Ephesians 4:20)  But ye have not so learned Christ;

(Ephesians 4:21)  If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

(Ephesians 4:22)  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

(Ephesians 4:23)  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

(Ephesians 4:24)  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

(Ephesians 4:25)  Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

(Ephesians 4:26)  Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

(Ephesians 4:27)  Neither give place to the devil.

(Ephesians 4:28)  Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

(Ephesians 4:29)  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

(Ephesians 4:30)  And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

(Ephesians 4:31)  Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

(Ephesians 4:32)  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Philippians chapter 4 encourages all to rejoice in the Lord and to think on all good, encourages us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and that God is a provider through Jesus

(Philippians 4:1)  Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

(Philippians 4:2)  I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

(Philippians 4:3)  And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

(Philippians 4:4)  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

(Philippians 4:5)  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

(Philippians 4:6)  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

(Philippians 4:7)  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:8)  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

(Philippians 4:9)  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

(Philippians 4:10)  But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

(Philippians 4:11)  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

(Philippians 4:12)  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

(Philippians 4:13)  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

(Philippians 4:14)  Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

(Philippians 4:15)  Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

(Philippians 4:16)  For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

(Philippians 4:17)  Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

(Philippians 4:18)  But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

(Philippians 4:19)  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:20)  Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

(Philippians 4:21)  Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.

(Philippians 4:22)  All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.

(Philippians 4:23)  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. To the Philippians written from Rome, by Epaphroditus.

Colossians chapter 3 then encourages again to put the death the deeds of the flesh, mortifying them and encourages people to be patient with one another, and forgiving doing all as unto the Lord and the Lord is no respecter of persons

(Colossians 3:1)  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

(Colossians 3:2)  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

(Colossians 3:3)  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

(Colossians 3:4)  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

(Colossians 3:5)  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

(Colossians 3:6)  For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

(Colossians 3:7)  In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

(Colossians 3:8)  But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

(Colossians 3:9)  Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

(Colossians 3:10)  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

(Colossians 3:11)  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

(Colossians 3:12)  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

(Colossians 3:13)  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

(Colossians 3:14)  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

(Colossians 3:15)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

(Colossians 3:16)  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

(Colossians 3:17)  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

(Colossians 3:18)  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

(Colossians 3:19)  Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

(Colossians 3:20)  Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

(Colossians 3:21)  Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

(Colossians 3:22)  Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

(Colossians 3:23)  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

(Colossians 3:24)  Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

(Colossians 3:25)  But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

In 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 Paul then reminds us that we will not see the wrath of God as Christ died for us. Paul then gives a whole other list of exhortations which include things like praying without ceasing, giving thanks and not quenching the Spirit.

(1 Thessalonians 5:1)  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

(1 Thessalonians 5:2)  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

(1 Thessalonians 5:3)  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

(1 Thessalonians 5:4)  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

(1 Thessalonians 5:5)  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

(1 Thessalonians 5:6)  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

(1 Thessalonians 5:7)  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

(1 Thessalonians 5:8)  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

(1 Thessalonians 5:9)  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

(1 Thessalonians 5:10)  Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

(1 Thessalonians 5:11)  Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

(1 Thessalonians 5:12)  And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

(1 Thessalonians 5:13)  And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

(1 Thessalonians 5:14)  Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

(1 Thessalonians 5:15)  See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16)  Rejoice evermore.

(1 Thessalonians 5:17)  Pray without ceasing.

(1 Thessalonians 5:18)  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

(1 Thessalonians 5:19)  Quench not the Spirit.

(1 Thessalonians 5:20)  Despise not prophesyings.

(1 Thessalonians 5:21)  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

(1 Thessalonians 5:22)  Abstain from all appearance of evil.

(1 Thessalonians 5:23)  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Thessalonians 5:24)  Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

(1 Thessalonians 5:25)  Brethren, pray for us.

(1 Thessalonians 5:26)  Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

(1 Thessalonians 5:27)  I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

(1 Thessalonians 5:28)  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. The first epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.

Hebrews 12 then encourages us to run the race strongly as we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, not to despise the chastening of the Lord and also to take in things, how things are to be shaken again and how God is a consuming fire

(Hebrews 12:1)  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

(Hebrews 12:2)  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(Hebrews 12:3)  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

(Hebrews 12:4)  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

(Hebrews 12:5)  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

(Hebrews 12:6)  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

(Hebrews 12:7)  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

(Hebrews 12:8)  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

(Hebrews 12:9)  Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

(Hebrews 12:10)  For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

(Hebrews 12:11)  Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

(Hebrews 12:12)  Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

(Hebrews 12:13)  And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

(Hebrews 12:14)  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

(Hebrews 12:15)  Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

(Hebrews 12:16)  Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

(Hebrews 12:17)  For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

(Hebrews 12:18)  For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

(Hebrews 12:19)  And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

(Hebrews 12:20)  (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

(Hebrews 12:21)  And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

(Hebrews 12:22)  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

(Hebrews 12:23)  To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

(Hebrews 12:24)  And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

(Hebrews 12:25)  See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

(Hebrews 12:26)  Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

(Hebrews 12:27)  And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

(Hebrews 12:28)  Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

(Hebrews 12:29)  For our God is a consuming fire.

I want to wrap this encouraging teaching up with an urging that if you do NOT know Jesus as your personal savior that I would encourage you to do so now. Jesus died for all of our sins willingly paying the price for them to enable us to have fellowship again with God the Father as sins had cut off the relationship but Jesus’ death on the cross atoned for these sins. Now it is possible for all to have that love relationship with God again, and I know personally there is nothing that can compare to this love relationship with God or even come remotely come close. I am now including a prayer which you can pray which will invite Jesus to come into your heart and become your personal Lord and Savior and as a result begin this wonderful relationship with God to which nothing can compare. Please pray this prayer with me now

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess Jesus as our Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we will be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Amen.
