Book of Habakkuk bible study
Here is a bible study on the short book of Habakkuk- 3 chapters- one with both prophecies and prayers to God for Habakkuk was indeed a prayer warrior. There are different opinions as to when the book of Habakkuk was written, but the consensus puts the book before the Babylonian captivity for the book seems to prophecy the exile of the Jews to Babylon. Habakkuk does intercede for the Jews a good bit and also praises God in the third chapter of the book
Habakkuk chapter 1 is a conversation between Habakkuk and the Lord where Habakkuk pleads for justice and judgment against the evil doers of Israel and the Lord answers that is why He is raising the Chaleans, who will come for just that purposes and there also is some praises of the Lord given by Habakkuk in the chapter
(Habakkuk 1:1) The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw.
(Habakkuk 1:2) O LORD, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear? Or cry...
Book of Zephaniah bible study
Here is a study on the brief 3 chapter book of Zephaniah, a book written during the time of the reign of Josiah the king of Judah. The book promises and prophesies judgment and punishments for the wrongdoings of not only Judah and Jerusalem but also many of the surrounding lands in that region but also encourages people returning to the Lord, and repenting of all evil deeds and doing good deeds. Zephaniah also promises the return and restoration of the children of Israel after the period of judgment in the third chapter
In chapter 1 of Zephaniah there are prophecies of the coming judgment of Judah and Jerusalem are there and also the coming of the day of the Lord, warning the people to be ready for it
(Zephaniah 1:1) The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah the son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king...
Book of Haggai bible study
Here is the book of Haggai, only two chapters, but has powerful messages nevertheless. It was written just after Darius took charge in power, and Haggai was made a prophet of the Lord to the governor of Judah at that time. The messages reprove, chasten, and punish the Israelis for failing to build God’s houses but building their own, so the Lord asks the people to consider and build His and there are warning messages
For more on this time period of the rebuilding of the temple and all of the drama involved in the process, even a little on Haggai the prophet, I am giving a link to the bible study on the book of Ezra here
Book of Malachi bible study
This is a bible study on the book of Malachi, the very last book of the Old Testament, and maybe the latest book written time wise, well after the exile was over. It is rather short as it has only four chapters, and gives good advice on what to do and to not do, and also chastises the people for doing wrong things as they did, and makes a few prophecies, on punishment of evil doers and even blessings for doing the right things.
In chapter 1 of the book of Malachi, the continual punishment and desolation of Edom is prophesied and the people of Israel are then chastised for not fearing and honor oaths but bringing bad and blemished sacrifices
(Malachi 1:1) The oracle of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.
(Malachi 1:2) "I have loved you," says the LORD. But you say, "How have you loved us?" "Is not Esau Jacob's brother?" declares...

King David 2 Samuel 3 to 10 bible study
This study covers 8 chapters in 2 Samuel of the rise of King David up to the Bathsheba affair. Covered in this bible study are the wars of succession between the houses of David and Saul to enable David to get to the throne and many other topics as he strengthens his power over both Israel and Judah. Also covered in the study is the move of the Ark of the Covenant to its final home in Jerusalem. God is very merciful to David and that mercy and love show from God to David show here. This bible study continues the narration and story line in the one beforehand, which covers the end of Saul’s kingshship and the early rise of David and his activities as king. A link to that study can be found here
King David bible study 2 Samuel chapters 13 through 21
These chapters illustrate all the trials and tribulations David faced after being confronted about the Bathsheba affair, and as prophesied when he was confronted many things did happen. These events that even sins repented of can create troubles for us,especially where there are grievous sins, as David’s sins in regards to Bathsheba were indeed grievous (adultery, murder) so we need to try to be very careful of what we do to start out with, and use the Lord’s strength to resist temptation, something David failed to do (all fail, actually on occasion, only Jesus alone lived a sin free life). We must keep our mistakes to a minimum, and repent as soon as we know we have blown it. I have heard sin compared to throwing a stone in water, the ripples that spread out are representations of its effects on the sinner and others, and there are few if any sins that we commit that do NOT affect others in some way or...
1 Kings Chapters 1 through 8 bible study Solomon
Here are the first 8 chapters of the book of first kings which cover the very end of David’s reign and then also much of the reign of Solomon, including the building of the temple of God in Jerusalem, and also Solomon’s asking God for wisdom and understanding to govern the people of Israel properly and getting it, and more.
Here is a link to a study which gives some background and yet also covers much of the same ground too, for comparison, for a lot of this study if from 1 and 2 Chronicles which have different accounts than the books of Samuel and kings
