John’s gospel study chapters 13 to 21
I am led to do these 9 chapters of the gospel of John next as a bible study as Jesus both says and does some very important things in these chapters of this gospel, and there are teachings which can really alter our lives if we can meditate on them. There are many excellent things.
I am starting this study in chapter 13, although you can read the 12 earlier chapters, this is the chapter where Jesus washes His disciples feet at the last supper, and uses that service to His disciples as a teaching example of how we are also to love one another. He is betrayed and prophesies Peter’s denial, but also Peter’s eventual martyrdom:
(John 13:1) Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
(John 13:2) During...
Gospel of John bible study chapters 1 to 6
I am now led to do a bible study for the first six of the chapters of the Gospel of John, and then on to chapters 7 to 12, so that they can be combined with the last 9 for a complete bible study of John’s gospel, or any of these three could be done as a stand alone bible study, if so desired. The Gospel of John is filled with many of the wonderful teachings of Jesus, and also covers His life story, including several of His important miracles and healings.
Chapter 1 is the introduction of Jesus, tells to a degree who and what He is and shows Him be baptized by John the Baptist and calling some of the disciples to Him:
(John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(John 1:2) He was in the beginning with God.
(John 1:3) All things were made through him, and without him was not...
Gospel of John bible study chapters 7 through 12
I am doing the middle chapters of John’s gospel from 7 through 12 as a bible study. They have many important teachings, including I AM and other teachings and a couple of very important miracles such as the blind man seeing for the first time and especially Lazarus raised from the dead, after being dead for no less than four days. This can be done as a stand alone study, just these six chapters or this can be part of an integrated study perhaps of the entire gospel.
I am giving a link here to the first six chapters of John so you can go ahead and study them first before you go here to study these, if that is what you want to do
Epistles of John bible study
This study covers the three epistles written by John. All have powerful lessons for us nowadays which impact us and our relationship with God, and His character, love and forgiveness towards us and more.
I am starting with 1 John 1 which reminds us that we need to walk in the light and not in the darkness and confess that we are sinners, confessing the that way commit sins to be forgiven and to be cleansed of all our unrighteousness for those who do not do that, and deny that they sin only deceive themselves and are also liars, even making out God to be a liar which He is most certainly is NOT:
(1 John 1:1) That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life--
(1 John 1:2) the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and...
Song of Solomon Bible study
I am presenting the Song of Solomon in this one, and I am doing it differently. I am only going to have my comments up here and at the end, because it is a song, and I want to keep it flowing, and invite those who read and study it to do the same, trying to study and discuss with as little interruption as possible. It is a love song, also, and personally I believe it is a love song from Jesus to His bride, something that the Holy Spirit gave to Solomon over 900 years before Jesus even walked the earth on His earthy ministry, and then to fulfill Hid early purpose to sacrifice Himself to pay for all of our sins. Of course Jesus as an eternal being, having been on the earth on occasion to visit people like Abraham, Moses and so on, all of which was before He walked the earth in His ministry. God is so wonderful and can do anything, for nothing is ever too hard for Him to do at...
Jealousy and envy
I want to do this to warn people, and I include myself there when I say that to stay far away from jealousy and envy, for they are so destructive and evil. It can be easier said than done for our flesh is so pushy and demanding and jealousy/envy is one of the many works of the flesh, as you will see later on in this. To start out, I will show several bible stories of how bad jealousy and envy can be when allowed to do their evil work in people.
I really believe jealousy and envy were two of the main motivations for the first murder ever, specifically Cain’s killing of Abel. Abel’s animal sacrifice was accepted by God, while Cain’s vegetable sacrifice was not accepted by God, as it is thought by commentaries like Gill’s it may have been just leftovers and second rate items and not the best of Cain’s crops, which is what God deserves, and also possibly even...
Coveting
Coveting is the wrongful desiring something that rightly belongs to someone else, be it money, property, possessions or what not. It is not good at all and can very often lead to jealousy and envy. It is even a form of idolatry in a sense because the person who is doing the coveting of whatever is worshipping the object that is being coveted after, as their desire is that strong, rather than God, who deserves all our praise and worship. The coveting anything of anyone else that they posses also is very selfish and unloving towards the person who possesses the item that is coveted after.
The tenth commandment speaks out very strongly against this:
(Exodus 20:17) "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's."
...Reconciliation a bible study
I am led to do this study to show by stories in the bible of people reconciling differences with each other by varied means and other related scriptures in the bible on the subject of reconciliation that reconciliation is indeed possible between parties almost no matter what, often only with God’s help and blessing in the matter. Nothing is ever too hard for Him to accomplish, ever. Reconciliation requires forgiveness of any offenses, and often times can also require restitution to be made for things stolen, lost, and so forth, though sometimes people can sometimes be reconciled without restitution of some form being made, but restitution can help matters in terms of reconciliation, for it further shows the person who was offended that the offender really wants to be reconciled to them.
The first example of reconciliation comes in Genesis 16 where an angel has Hagar, Sarai’s maid...
