About

I am a follower of JESUS, a Native American (from the Choctaw and Cherokee tribes), Music Producer, Songwriter, Music Arranger, Guitarist, Vocalist, and Performer. I released my ten track CD, Solutions in December 2006. It features the legendary Rock N Roll Hall of Fame guitarist of THE DOORS, Robby Krieger, performing slide guitar on the first track Mr. Cool Demeanor. Robby was produced by his long time friend Arthur Barrow (Google Arthur Barrow - bass player and bandleader for Frank Zappa). Art also performed on five of the ten tracks on my CD, as well as recording engineer. This song was picked up by Revolution Radio on their TOP 40 CHARTS in London England and went to Number Three, where it remained for ten consecutive weeks. I have also jammed on stage at the Darrell Mansfield Gospel & Blues Society PRO JAM alongside Darrell Mansfield (Blues Hall of Fame & Hohner Hall of Fame artist) and Eric Turner, lead guitarist for Darrell Mansfield and who has played with some of the biggest names in music history. It took me from November 1998 until October 2006 to complete my CD. Looking back, I was determined and focused, that I would complete my CD - on my terms - if it took me till the day the Lord came to take me home. And yes the Lord blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. For two reasons I believe. Number One - I put Him, Jesus the Father, first in my life, read His word and prayed daily. Number two - I did not bury the talent the Lord gave me. Rather I continued on and believe me I had lots of roadblocks. Mainly from Christian brothers and sisters and my family and friends that told me I was wasting my time and my money and that I was seeking self glory. But what they forgot to mention was the Lord had given me the talent to write, play guitar, sing and perform. And I was not going to listen to them but rather listen to God. So, I started, I fought battle after battle that I faced - before, during and after the recording of Solutions. And I finished the race the Lord had put before me and completed it! Amen - Hallelujah Jesus! My purpose in writing, performing and releasing music is to lead people to Jesus Christ. If I can touch the hearts of others through the music the Lord has given me and they can be saved from hell then I am fulfilling the great commission that I have been called to do. Mark 16:15-20 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." 16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned." 17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 "They will take up serpents ; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. For bookings email is: asongwarrior@gmail.com

James spends hours listening to artists songs for his JB TOP TEN Charts, prepares for his radio show and basically has set a major part of his life apart to help indie gospel artists. I just want to take this time to say THANK YOU brother for helping indie gospel artists like myself and others. It means so much to us!  And thank you Ken of IndieGospel.net

The encouragement I have received from Mr. Cool Demeanor going from #9, to #5, to #3 and now to # 2 encourages me to be stronger in my stand for the Lord and what I stand for when I write music!

Hi T. Roy,

You do great music. It's real "world class" stuff. I'm proud to have you as a member here.

It's artists like you who draw people in. Then the up and coming "garage bands" have a chance to get heard too. The charities and blogging Ministries also benefit.

From our About Us page - "The creative content supplied by our artistic community, draws people to the rest of our soul winning Christian resources, and promoted charities. Everyone benefits from this collective Christian Outreach ".

The fact that James is willing to take the time to pick out the best and promote them, adds to this beneficial effect. It's the type of teamwork the body of Christ should be striving to achieve.

It spreads the Gospel when everyone does their part. Then God takes our individual efforts and weaves them all together into a rich tapestry.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good...

James Banfield's Top 20 Songs
02/28/12 03:09:59AM @james-banfields-top-20-songs:

"T" Roy.  I am blessed beyond belief. I love music and have since Jr. High School. I just couldnt find my niche. I thought I was a decent songwriter and wrote around 200+ secular songs, but got nowhere, and artists like Bobby Goldsboro, Songwriter DeWayne Blackwell l(I'm Mr. Blue) even gave me encouragement when I was still 19 and wet behind the ears. But then late in life I found Jesus.. Or should I say- He found me? At 45 I found that there was a difference. I had been searchin for years, songs written back in the mid 70's of searchin for the Lord but it wasnt until 11-19-91 that I really made the committment. The Scriptures became alive for me and you know the rest. So I went to write for the Lord. And then after years of trying to get people to do my gospel songs with no luck, It was frustrating. But then the Lord had something on his mind for me. I was able to really learn Praise and Worship from a  very good Pastor/Teacher/ who  moved in the spirit. After a few years I found ,myself with a couple of friends and we began to sing Praise and Worship in our new church in Northern California for some 5 years or so. Which brings me here to SC where I live now, with my Southern Belle Wife Marty. We were able to do  some songs together She is a terrific songwriter and has  a great album to her credit. At 58 I finally was able to complete my 1 and only album "The Heart of a Prophet".  But shortly after that I began to experience some serious health issues and COPD along with my heart problems. Music had to take a backseat. The pain in my feet and hands and hard to breathe at times just set me back. But I stumbled upon Indie Gospel Artists and found that I could upload my album on to a player and at least folks could listen to "Heart of a Prophet" I ran across one of the artists in the membership, a guy by the name of Gary Weldon Sr. and he had a song on his page that was crazy.. I mean really crazy. I wanted to send him a note and tell  him he misspelled Hallelujah wrong... It was "Halli to Your Name"... but I realized that he meant it to be that way. So I loaded on my player Too!... That is what got me started. I began to listen to the songs that I like and put them on my player because I thought they were good. Hey I'm slow I know, but one day I got the crazy idea to do a Top Ten. that was a year a half ago.  Now, I keep a spread sheet on the songs as I follow them entering the Chart and leaving the chart. AS I find a song that is worthy of a listen, I'll write on my clip board and check it out again.. Some make it as a Honorable Mention or even a Bullet Song. Then once in a while they'll hit the chart. It is a ministry. I had so many experiences of being shut down, cut down, from even Christian artists and producers that I just got sick of them. They were no better than the secular music business. So I chose to have my own TOP TEN and if I saw some talent, some spark of something good, I wanted to tell them. To give them encouragement. I finally found my niche. After 65 years of living, I found something that I love doing. Listening to songs by unknown Christian artists  and helping to expose their talents and the songs they write of and for the Lord.

So thank You so much for encouragement and accolades Mr. Taylor, it does my heart good to know that I can face my Lord one day and tell Him thanks for letting me do something for your gifted songwriters who witness of you.

And to all of You and "T" Roy ... Blessings to you all.

In HIm,

James 'JB' Banfield
