Let us encourage each other on to good works. Remember the lord Jesus Christ said he came to serve. It is also written that there is a shortage of laborers. So one of the fruits of the Spirit is joy and love. So it shouldn't be a work in essence like slaving because you serve in whatever capacity if you are called you do it. It glorifies God and serves him. And here it is written.
Hebrews 10
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works :
It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord. When Paul left the Jews he said your blood be upon your own head I go to the Gentiles. Now there are those who claim once he did this he proclaimed or adhered to Sunday worship which is the first day of the week instead of the Sabbath which is the 7th day because the Jews were stiff necked people.
The conscience was not clean with the blood of goats and bulls but of the blood of Christ can sanctified us. But it gives great warning about grieving the spirit or even abusing grace. They murmured with Moses back in the day. We are not under the law today because the law could not make perfect as it convicted us. But look what it says.
" I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;" it’s written on our heart and minds . We know when we do wrong or when we back slide.
Hebrews 10:29
And in verse 29 it states the punishment for those who trot under foot the Son of God. Wow!
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified , an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace ?
Grace was abused!
Then it is written as so..
Hebrews 10:30-39
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
They are being warned. And then look what it says and the next couple of verses.
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
They did whose will their own? Not God's will. So they are reminded to live by faith and that the Lord will not tarry to come. But at the same time they are warned not to do unworthy with false sacrifices.
38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
So their warned about drawing back. Then look how he closes.
39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
We don't drop back into perdition. We are them that believe to the saving of the soul. Faith people. Faith. Even then it is written that confidence brings reward.
The sins were paid in full one time. There doesn't need to be re-sacrifices by the sort of system they had then. Then we know that there are certain religions that are doing the same thing but they justify it.
And Jesus talked about the washing of pots and all the commandments of men. That he is worshiped in vain. We are warned about forsaking the assembling. God is forgiving and so should we be.
He was offered only once for sins..
Hebrew 10:10
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. That is written. Are we sure we love him? Do we listen to him? Are we born again? Are we back sliders? Are we lost sheep fallen into a pit? Have we believed in vain? Do we assemble for worship? Is our heart right with God?
When people are told on judgment day that Christ never knew them but they cast out demons and did wonderful works why?. It is assumed these are real Christians or are they?. But again there are work-based religions and there are also those teaching works for salvation. But they appear to be true Christians. They seem like they have a redeemed heart because they applied themselves but do they? They cast out the demons but perhaps their faith was not in him. The word iniquity means lawless, unjust and unfair. So was their heart really right with God? Perhaps they were cautioned when they had been on Earth but they didn't heed the call. But it tells us if we really listen what is wrong. As written: " but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven ." It tells us where God is and those who do his will. So what is his will? That you believe on his/Gods only begotten son and then you will have everlasting life?
Hebrew 10:20
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
1) His sovereign will
This is the will of God that will come to pass no matter what. Nothing will stop it. In Isaiah 46:10 God says, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Nothing will hinder or stop this plan. It takes into account human sin and evil. Jun 2, 2020
"Here in Colossians, Paul describes what it takes for each believer to know God's will
"Verse 9 reveals the process by which a believer can discover and implement God's will. It says: "through all spiritual wisdom and understanding."Knowing God's will is a matter of gaining spiritual wisdom and understanding from God himself -- the only source ". Oct 13, 2016
Following God's Plan for Your Life:
Be in prayer. A way to know that you are following God's plan for your life is by being in prayer.
Be actively reading in the Word. ...
Follow the commands He puts on your heart. ...
Seek a godly community. ...
Obey the Truth.
He never knew them. He says never knew them. Don't count on your works. Make sure your faith is in him first. Some Christians might tell you make sure your heart is right with God. Make sure you LOVE GOD with all your heart mind & soul and your nab-our as yourselves. Do you have a heart of flesh? or stone?
Remember the church in Revelation lost its first love. These people that were rejected Were Wicked in various ways. Their works were presented to try and justify themselves. But they had God on their lips but their hearts were far far from him. We are warned to examine our hearts. It is written God searches the reins of our hearts. When we do something because God puts it on our heart is it for the right purpose. Please don't take things for granted. We're not condemning you. It's good to understand so that we can better equip the Saints and other people that might fall away . .
Money is the root of all evils. You know where Christ gave an interesting analogy in the parable of the field. A man sold all he had to buy a field. You cant enter his kingdom with money. But money could be a crutch that blocks you from entering his kingdom. It's all about the heart and relationship. See the next link and look at the notes.
