"a person who seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes."
"the trust was founded by an American philanthropist "
What is a philanthropist?
"Philanthropy is a form of altruism that consists of "private initiatives, for the public good, focusing on quality of life."
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
" Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work ." Nov 1, 2017
I took some key points from an article and a question that's been floating in my mind about philanthropy. I've often thought of this as even William Shatner is involved in this as were a couple that perished from Canada. But particularly the couple from Canada they were so wealthy beyond our imagination yet the man was involved in the court battles over money. Yes Yeshua or we can call him Jesus Christ warned about wealth. God is concerned with saving souls and with people knowing him and having a relationship with him. Even the prosperity Gospel has turned the house of God into a den of thi e f's Money is the root of all evils as written. The truth is a lot of rich people give including businesses because you get tax write-offs. But that's good in a sense if it's not abused. Because they have heavy expenses. And they have benefits of being business people. But yes God through his prophets and his word has warned people. You see your heart has to be right with God. Pride comes before a fall. And the woman Maria who wrote this article did give examples of philanthropist with the right motives coming closer to God.
Here are some key points from the article.
"What is charity according to the Bible? And, what are we to make of the many Biblical warnings about wealth?"
, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
"Christian giver understands their wealth not as their own but as God’s. Ultimately, they are stewards, not possessors, of their wealth."
“Giving in the bible is about what charity does to the giver much more than it is for that to whom something is given,”
The wages of sin is death. Not just physical death but spiritual death. Where where does that lead? To hell
Can money send you the hell? Absolutely. It could lead you to all sorts of evils and in turn you can even become an atheist or be an atheist and perish. Even a deceived believer. You'll have all of eternity in hell but why? Because your aspirations were based in comfort and greed. Your heart was far from God. Remember Christ once told the evil children of those who killed the prophets to fill up the measure. That is a pretty hard statement
