Romans 11 is the eleventh chapter of the Epistle to the Romans in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. It is authored by Paul the Apostle
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 11
I magnify my ministry
"If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches."
"But if (F)some of the branches were broken off, and you, (G)although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root[b] of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. "
Who is speaking in Romans 11?
"Not only are they missing out on salvation, it makes other people wonder whether God is faithful to his promises. In chapter 11, Paul affirms that God has a surprising plan for the people of Israel."
Look how profound the above scriptures that I have quoted here... And the whole chapter is true and is very important. He reminds people and especially the people he is addressing here that they are the branches and to remember who the root Vine is. It's one thing to be bold but he writes the word arrogant and speaks that word. Are you so arrogant that you do not understand these things. You see Isaiah 53 came true and they despise that. Christ said he was hated without a cause. I also remind you that they had the thinking that if one man perish being Christ himself which is the son of God and the Messiah which they had put to death that all of Israel would be saved and not perish. But in actual fact what will happen is an antichrist will come on to the scene and Israel will be surrounded by armies of the world and attack just as they are always in the news being attacked. They fight over Jerusalem being the city of the great king. You know true Christians are commanded to live a holy life and Paul says he magnifies his ministry. So if the root is Holy which is the great king who is come and risen in glory so should be the branches. And there is only one mediator between God and man as written in scripture. And Apostle Paul makes it known who supports you/his people being the root and the master.
The deeds of the world are evil and Christ testified against such. You cannot follow the world without becoming God's enemy.
The whole Bible verse is powerful in of itself and has great meaning and implications. But look what he says here.
"15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?" What comes to mind is can you take the temple and associated with a whore. Light and darkness do not mix.
"18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee."
We are warned just as who the Apostle is warning in the book of Romans. The Jews were brought to jealousy and they had unbelief in their own Messiah that they sent to his death. Even Christ accused them of being the children of those who murdered the prophets. He called them whitewash tombs. Of their father the devil. Can you imagine. You see God wanted to take them under his wing but they weren't willing.
And in this next versus that I'm going to quote the Apostle Paul lays it out right there and then..
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
So for true Christians that could relate to this shall you fall away or shall you abuse grace that it may abound? The Apostle said being Paul God forbid. Shall we trample the blood of Christ? What can we learn from Romans 11? Remember a few things that Christ said if you love me keep my Commandments. He also said for believers to love each other and that is the new commandment that he gave.
So as evangelist and preachers we evangelize the word of God to turn people from Satan unto God. But only the truth can set you free. Without the shedding of blood there would be no forgiveness of sins.
Now in Matthew 26 he talks about remembrance by drinking what was in the cup. He broke the bread. He tells us twice it is done in remembrance of him. When he comes back whatever has to be taught will be taught. Some Christians say /reiterate occupied until he comes. But look what he said here in Romans 11
"25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me."
The word of God cannot be broken.
It is written in John 10:35 kjv
[35] If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; [36] Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Now it is written if you don't forgive those who trespass against you your father in heaven will not forgive you. The our Father prayer is addressed to our father who is God in heaven. It's not address to some man on Earth. Look what Christ said
"7. [12] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."
Now don't take things for granted and don't underestimate God because all things are possible with God as written.
So now we take a look at the King James Bible translation..
Romans 11
King James Version
11 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
So you see God has not cast away Israel and he used the Gentiles to bring them to jealousy. Obviously it was written in Isaiah 53 that they would deny their own Messiah and have him put to death. That he would have the government on his shoulders. God is able to bring Israel to Salvation. He might discipline them as in the exile and he delivered them as he sent Moses. It appears that even the Apostle is not giving up hope. He knows that there were Jews that were saved. Henceforth the day of Pentecost as written in the book of Acts. It is so evident that we are not to undermine God or the Vine. Obviously he knows what he's doing because he is a great mind which is above our ways and thoughts. Just as written "God hath not cast away his people". Also for the gentile believers or anybody else that seeks salvation scripture says salvation is of the Lord. It tells us to call. Call out.
