You know what it said test the spirits to see if they are from God and some people do this wrongly. The Lord Jesus is risen. He is the way the truth and the life. He is the resurrection. So what is my point here and what is on my mind right now today. You can come across 50 preachers and they can preach the word of God to you but countless ears are not really open and when your heart can't decipher the parables or what this means in real life it's futile.

You know they have the class in biblical studies on demeology. Christ cast out demons and people have them. And how you get them is a whole other lesson. When you open the door that is opposed to God and you are a contributor and particular to the Satanic world you put yourself in grave danger. Christ cast out demons and they knew who he was and they even feared him.

So here's my point you can't serve two masters and God sent his only begotten son in the world not just because he so loved the world and he wanted to save it but he came to call people to repentance.

The wages of sin is death. When you don't obey the God that created you then you die spiritually and if you die physically you could end up in hell for all of eternity. Who do you blame then when you were given ample warning but you didn't heed the call.

Now think about this we're humans and we don't have bodies that are imperishable. Everything has a lifespan on Earth that is alive including plant life. So here is what I'm getting at Lucifer who was renamed Satan was a cherubim angel in heaven guarding the throne of God. A huge score of angels followed him and were kicked out of heaven along with him for the evil they did by tricking Eve even Adam following. So they were cast down to the Earth. He hates God and you could ask yourself how could a cherubim Angel hate God. Think about it a score of other angels also followed Satan and were kicked out of heaven and God reserved them onto chains of darkness meaning hell for all of eternity. There's no more redemption for them so they have a vindictiveness against those that God are saving. If this is so why would God allow them such access. It is the greatest test of your life and it shows God whom you will serve all the days of your life. There are other compounding reasons to this but that's not my main issue right now that I'm discussing/addressing.

First those who live in the flesh and not the spirit and don't obey Christ here's what they follow and they aspire to most likely...

John 8:44

Now the devil tempted Christ when he was his 40 days in the desert and he tempted him to turn stones into bread and to do other things. He responded it is written thou shalt not put thy God to thy test. But look what else he told him

Luke 4:8

“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve .”

Furthermore look what the biblical Lord Jesus Christ told Satan.

Matthew 16:23

“But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men .”

So Satan is an offense to God and God has reserved judgment for eternity in the Lake of fire for him and his angels. Other evil people that don't repent and die in their sins will join them in Hell .

So what was meant by the word "savourest". Let's look at the whole verse in context

Matthew 16:23-26 KJV

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul ?

Life is a cross and you must crucify your flesh and walk in the spirit

Following those things that are useless such men are full of abominations as the soul that sins shall surely die. You can't serve two masters and there is a way that appears right onto a man or a woman but in the end you die spiritually and if you die in your sins you will perish. The things that humans highly esteem are nothing more than an abomination unto God and you can't serve two masters. And when God extends grace by his merciful heart and even sets aside works men and women get overwhelmed and start worshiping two masters sometimes just as people's testimonies who saw hell who did so proves that is the wrong way. 5:21 p.m. July 17th 2021

Your heart has to be right with the God you have a relationship with. You must be born again John 3:3 as Christ told Nicodemus the Jewish Pharisee. What is born of spirit and spirit and what is born of flesh is flesh. People get attached to all the paraphernalia and useless junk and they become hoarding of this life and they don't store up treasures for heaven. Faith goes a long way but Christ demonstrated how to live the life because he came to serve. They say reading the Bible is a form of worship including singing songs. But remember there was a time when God rejected the new songs/moons and all these things that his people were doing. Because they had fallen into idolatry and phariseeism and that can't make you right before God. He sent prophets to warn them to turn back but they chased them from town to town hunting them down and sometimes murdering them and this is why he was so angry at the Pharisees when he called them whitewashed tombs. It can't come by religion because that does not make you right before God it comes by relationship and by Christ being the master of the sheep. He is the vine and he prunes the branches. You can't make somebody be good because God says they need a new heart which is really a new spirit. He God can take that heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. In essence that is associated with the rebirth. The regeneration. You see even Elijah the prophet knew what it was to live a holy life and he also understood as the prophets of baal how they were filthy evil before God. They were like a disease. It spreads and sooner or later it affects others. You know they say bad company spoils good manners. This is true.

Now we look at what is treasures for heaven you're to store up.

What is the meaning of treasures in heaven?

"So what does it look like to lay up treasures in heaven? It means believing God's promises and identifying with God's people despite the sure affliction that will follow (Hebrews 10:32-34). God is faithful to his promises and what he promises his people—salvation, life and inheritance—is eternal and incorruptible ."

"Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19)."

"Another of the riches according to heaven is good works. “Be rich in good works”. “Do good”. The ‘good’ is further defined by being ready to share, generosity. James 2:15-17 has a lot to say about that. So does Luke 3:11. But do all with the right motivation ."

"Earthly treasure is possessions. Whether money, clothing, food, property… But heavenly treasure is other people . It’s service to others , service in the church, caring, sharing, giving, spending time with people, pursuing their righteousness, caring about them above ."

Do not be spotted from and by the world but your first love must be God and treat others as yourself.

In my after notes King Solomon understood the whole duty of man is to obey God and in essence store up treasures for heaven. They say he had great wisdom and people came from afar to hear his Godly wisdom. True Christians have crucified the flesh and have a new nature given to them by God to walk in the spirit. The Bible says many are destroyed for lack of understanding. You can't even take your next breath without God. Prayer is incredible when God listens. People squander possessions and they turn away from God until sickness or some other tragedy and then they wonder where is God . On the day of judgment people thought that they were righteous before God and they're presenting their good works but before him they were workers of iniquity. What were they lacking? Their heart was not right with God and their works were burnt in the fire because they did the same thing the Pharisees did they neglected those things that are most important to God. This is why Christians even myself should not be Pharisees. Jesus once said if you're righteousness does not surpass/exceed that of the Pharisees in no likewise way will you ever enter the kingdom of God. Today because God has been merciful through Apostle Paul and has been gracious but people abuse the grace where it rebounds but claim they are cealed. The Bible says to fear God and press in and finish the good fight just like Apostle Paul did so don't put God to the test and don't strip Christ of his authority.
