In my opening as true believers we are told to be studied and show ourselves approved unto God. 2 Timothy 2:15 On to whom? Unto God our Father in heaven. The God Jehovah. The God who said I am that I am to Moses.
One of the most crippling things to the soul is fornication because it is sin against your own body and once God has provided grace and mercy which even the Pharisees were accused of forsaken because they stoned even the real prophets probably nonetheless we're supposed to put to death the deeds of the flesh/body. Were to deny ourselves and crucify the flesh and that's just not fornication but that's also your speech which can be ungodly and it comes from your heart. If you contemplate on the old things that were sinful you might be putting yourself at risk which is common sense. How can you go forward if you're looking backwards. He said a man that looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. You go preach the gospel and let the dead bury the dead. If we say we are without sin we are liars. There's not even one considering even the apostles or the people he Christ said that he considered close to God and he said only God is good. He tested them in Genesis God. If you find me ten I will save the place but yet he still destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because there was not even one in comparison to God who is in heaven. Yes lot and perhaps a couple of other people were righteous but the whole town was corrupt and how did it become corrupt? Fornication and not controlling the mind which is fed by the heart. Not obeying the God of creation and his ordinances, his commandments. One problem I find is that if we procrastinate consistently or overlapping and going back to the past we are risking the thought of dwelling in the wrong place and disobeying God. Faith is something so important but even King Solomon understood with all the vanity and all the material possessions the most important thing was to obey the God of creation. If we go back and dwell in the past we're not going forward and being human beings the world just sucks everything in. I'll give you an example take the Mona Lisa or some painting worth millions somebody will buy that who is a multi-billionaire probably and put that on a wall and just dwell over its beauty. God tells us can your Idols deliver your soul in scripture. So again if it wasn't for Christ and the atonement, his finish worked on the cross none of us would see everlasting life nor would we be worthy at all and it's only because of what he did as he paid the price in full. So with that in mind, and no I don't have all the answers but some things is apparent that we just don't get into the habit of overcoming because we dwell in the wrong place and then we disobey him being the master. So let's take a look at some scripture and then the commandments that I have listed.
Now I know what James says about the works that he would show you his faith by his works. And God will give every man according to his works when he comes. So apparently your work's are important but salvation is a free gift of God and you don't earn it like you think. You must be born again. You can see from the huge list in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 we can all easily fit into this especially before we have been made new creatures in Christ.

Now of course in Exodus 20:5 he says not to bow down in worship them. Some people don't even bow but they worship them and they become an idol in this life just like even an automobile can become an idol or anything else. How can we love him with everything we have if we disobey him and then take his mercy and his grace for granted. Do humans do this? Of course they do and they do it in humongous quantities. They do it in many different ways even artists are painting images of people and of things. Interior designers are busy making a house look beautiful and selling their concepts. And we're not just picking on one industry because this can be unlimited and pertain to unlimited Industries. But you see what happens is you don't end up living the life in Christ the way he would want us to because your/our focus is not on him it's on the world and it's mindset. How are you going to bring forth fruit in this manner which is very complicated. What is fruit to God? It's certainly not material possessions. When you have a child God instructs us to bring that child up in the way of the Lord. Not the way of the world but the way of the Lord. God tells us how to dress and how to present ourselves not only to each other but before him. That a woman needs to have a covering and that the man is to love her like Christ loved the church. Her husband is the head of the wife like Christ is the head of the church. But if our focus is on trying to achieve something without the head vine being the Headmaster how can we go forward and bring forth good spiritual fruits in faith and trust? The Bible tells us to be a doer of the word of God. The thief on the cross repented and acknowledged his/thieves sins. One put Christ; God to thy test and the other repented and acknowledged his/thieves sins and worthiness of death. Christ often said repent or perish and we know that repent is not just to say I'm sorry but in actual fact it is to bring forth fruit worthy of repentance. It is to make a change. He told the prostitute go and sin no more. He didn't say go and try not to sin but go and sin no more.
James tells us in James 4:4 it is enmity to befriend the world. Put on the mind of Christ and crucify the flesh. Deny yourself because these are instructions in teachings of the Messiah himself. So you find yourself for example regressing or thinking of a thought that you shouldn't have thought or would rather have not thought that's going to bring you into fornication so how do you overcome that. I can tell you; you should pray yes but you still got to be a doer of the word of God. At some point you got to start doing it. The problem in our corrupt God-hating world, yes we have a tempter, an enemy of our soul being the devil that is an obstacle but we also have a world with subliminal advertising and messages figuring out ways to make merchandise out of you/I and sucking you/I back in to its traps/clutches. I mean you can get rid of the television from your house and you get a phone and now you're plugged in day and night. I don't think Moses did that nor do I think Christ did that. Why was Elijah such a highly anointed holy man of God? Even Abraham realized that all those things are nonsense and God is in none of those things. And what I've come to realize is what the Lord taught me that all those things are not of his they are of the world. They are all a waste of time and God's not condemning you/me for every little thing because he loves you/me but the way is straight and narrow regardless. Do we love the truth and are we sanctified by the truth. Only the truth can set us free because there is a broad way to destruction and many go in there at. Yet you see why he said if you don't forgive others God will not forgive you. He even said the least in his kingdom is valued in essence. Look what is written into Timothy 3: 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

In my afterthoughts and after notes if a little leaven leavens the whole lump and we are not doers, listeners that obey Christ, God nor do we live holy as the vine is Holy and so should the branches be are we abiding in him? How then are we better than the Fallen Angels that were created above us and yet they fell including Satan. The Bible says we will be judging angels. Christ said he knows his sheep. He even said what defiles a person is not the drought but what comes out of their heart and out of the heart all sorts of wicked evil things comes out and this is why you must be born again. John 3:3
